Mark do you have any kind of running list of all the strings that you have reviewed and some kind of rating system that compares them altogether may be like a 1 to 10 scale? It would be nice to get an overall viewpoint of the work you've done on strings over the past months. I think it is something that your viewers might enjoy
Great review of both the strings and the company. I recently decided to switch to this string, and I have a few additional comments... I changed racquets 3 years ago to the very open pattern 16x15 Wilson Steam, and I regularly started breaking strings in under 10 hours of play. Thus began a year-long search for a more durable string. I too had never heard of Tier One, but when I stumbled upon the T1 Durafluxx, I finally found a string that both lasted for 30+ hours, felt good, and kept the trampoline effect of the 16x15 under control (and FYI for comparison, the runners up were Solinco Hyper G and Tourna Big Hitter Black 7)... I've happily been playing the Durafluxx for the past 2 years, and I wondered whether one of their more spin-oriented strings might be a better fit for me. I initially tried their triangular Firewire. Yes, that string does have significantly more spin, but I was again breaking the strings in under 10 hours. After chatting with their online tech support, I decided to try Black Knight. Less spin than Firewire, but more spin than Durafluxx with durability similar to the latter. I recently broke my first set of BK, and another notable characteristic is that tension and feel still felt great even on the stroke just prior to the break (and in fact, even the stroke that broke the string still went where I wanted) -- the Durafluxx sometimes feels a bit "mushy" in the last couple of hours before breaking. In addition, BK provides a much more "lively" feel, and improved sense of touch over the Durafluxx. I was totally convinced to switch once I reached 20 hours on my first set of Tier One Black Knight. Since your main criticism of BK was lack of spin, and since you also like Tier One as a company, I'd be interested in your review of T1 Firewire. Since you play a 16x19 racquet, your experience (at least with durability) is likely to be radically different than mine.
I tried multiple overgrips but I really like the 'Babolat Pro Tour Comfort' actually. I easily have sweaty hands and had to change grips fast a lot, but I can use these grips for months even.
Jesus Mark, Why did you have to reveal my best kept secret to the World. If the price goes up as the result of your review, I may have to take legal action. LOL
Thanks for exposing me to this company. I've been hitting the Solinco for a year or so, and wanted to try something new. Bought two packets and am anxious to string them up and try on the courts!
I’ve been trying a succession of shaped polys. All hybrided with Ghost Wire crosses. Tried Black Knight today. Wow!! What a string. Felt like I couldn’t miss, lovely at the net (am an all court style of player), pop on the flat serve and actually I was getting good jump and movement on my kick. Interested to see how highly you rated it too. Think my journey to find a main may be over, although to be rigorous about it I still have Trionic, Confidential, Ultra Cable and Hyper-G vanilla to try. Now to dial in the crosses. Enjoyed the Ghost Wire but going to try Yonex PTF and Kirschbaum PLII too. Only other string in the running for me so far is Solinco Revolution. Cyclone (fine but unremarkable), V-Torque Tour (too stiff), Tour Bite (too stiff) and Hyper-G Soft (too soft) have gone by the wayside. For reference trying all those in a TF40 315, unmodded except for an over-grip, at 52lb. We don’t use the USTA rankings over here, but from what I can tell I’m probably about a 4.0 (genuinely not internet inflated)!
I bought the 17g version, played with it now for like a month (one week more often then others due to weather) and it's goooood. This one and the Confidential are my go to strings now. For doubles I use the Black Night and for singles the Confidential, I felt like I was missing a bit of feeling in singles at times, but both work really well! Too bad the TierOne's strings are a bit harder to come by here in the Netherlands (Shipped from Austria, extra costs), but a reel could be interesting (€100 no shipping costs vs €130 for the confidential exc. shipping costs). And the TierOne guys actually send me an additional string for free without I knew about it! They scribbled with pen and extra line with a smily face and sended me the FireWire as well.
@@tonyxiong2606 In my opinion there is no "better" one in general. Thicker gauges are better for string breakers because they live longer, but if you are not a string breaker go for the thinner gauge. They tend to give a little bit more power and a softer feel. Just experiment with how thin or thick you can go that gives you the feel you like.
Ha ha! Loved the intro! 😂 Great review, really appreciate the time and effort you put in, stringing up, play testing, recording, editing. I've just ordered a pack to try out, sound like a great string for my doubles matches. ✌🏻👍🏻
Currently playing with the Diadem Nova FS 100 * Tier One Black Knight 1.23 at 24kg. This string does everything really good. I don't see some aspect of it blowing me away. At this tension I thought it would feel stiffer, but it's actually quite comfortable. The ball stays into the stringbed just a hair longer than I'd like to - I'm using (the hard feeling) Wilson Trinity balls - ! I'm sure net players will like it a lot. Baseliners also, as it is a well balanced blend of everything. At 10€ per set, you can't go wrong with it! Highly recommend at least a try over 23kg for sure. For lower tensions, try something else from Tier One.
Mark thanks for the review. I tried these strings out and I must say your review was spot on. It’s a wonderful string and I’m so glad that you introduced them to me. I’ve also enjoyed your videos. Great match against Dill Plays. Maybe if I’m in Milwaukee we can hit some balls.
Would be interesting to see what your thoughts are on the T1 Firewire. Logged 2 hours with them so far and I LOVE them. That string is a spin monster for me.
idea for a video/series: review tennis balls. Most can be obtained fairly cheaply and you don't see a lot of reviews. I have always been curious about the Triniti ball from Wilson as I like the idea behind it and do feel a little guilty using a new can of balls every time I play. Just an idea! Thanks for the content.
Hi Mark, which gauge were you using for this review? Would also love to hear your thoughts on how V-Square compares against Technifibre’s Blackcode 4S!
Okay I'm sold. But if I'm looking for comfort, could you use it full bed or how would it perform using Ghost Wire as cross. Would that not work for you? Thanks for all your fantastic posts and I value your advice you give on the videos. Thank you.
Hey Mark. So what is your favourite Poly? I’m currently testing Hyper G in my 2019 Vcore 100. Hoping to test out the new Vcore 98 and 100. Love the Ezone 98 but I’m worried after I saw your review.
@@MarkSansait I tried and it quite liked it actually but really want to compare to the new Vcore 98 when I can get my hands on it. The Ezone had a really nice plush and solid feel. My current Vcore feels way less plush.
Had one racket with confidential and one with black knight. Its not even close. Black night was way better. The control and confort is awesome. I can get good spin with good form. I played amazing with thus string for three matches. It does everything and i cant believe how good the volleys are. And ulit lasted 8 hrs plus
Hi Mark, Would you be willing to review YTEX string? Arm-friendliness is their main focus. For a shaped poly, Quadro Twist is their most popular, followed by Square-X. Good round poly's would be Pro-Feel, Pro Tour and PolyPower. Would be interested to get your take on their tension maintenance, feel, spin, etc. Thank you!
Your video reviews are awesome!!! Quick question... I've asked in the past but never get an answer. IF comparing these strings to the black ISOspeed Baseline Control strings, which one has more ball pocketing between these two??
how would compare the spin potential to rpm blast which is a 8 sided string or the solinco confidential which plays really "round" for a four sided string?
Are you going to string up at least one of your Radicals with this? Any thought about seeing what it will do if you string with 4# tighter mains (59 and 55)?
I just got a trial pack from tier one and super excited to try out blacknight. I think a wilson blade strung with blacknight would fit the theme of the frame so nicely. Any other strings that you can think of that fit a frame theme or name?
Do you modify your rackets? Adjust weight and SW/TW? Just curious if you have any interest in sharing your journey to dialing in your new rackets to your game style.
Sadly with the added taxes and shipping costs it will end up at €18 per package. Guess I'll stay with my new friend the Sol.Confidential (€12) and my old buddy the Head Sonic Pro Edge (€8.50 at local stringer).
@@MarkSansait Well they do have an awesome package deal for new costumers. 6 packs (one of each co-poly string they have) for only €32 and free shipping. That might be worth while. But I am not someone who changes strings that regularly or wants to play test all those strings for the whole 2021 season haha. Still I am going to think about it.

Only thing I heard during the video was Brian, you should be using this string because all you do is play doubles.

Alu Power has more natural power after the break in period, but I hate the launch angle.
