i just found your videos today as I was looking for a new style. I have very thin (see scalp in some places) and fine hair. ( I love the term angel hair.) My Beautian of many years finally talked me into a perm wave. I grew my hair out to about chin length and we tried it. I litterally started crying when she took out the rods and styled. I looked like a fuzz ball. I hate what it looks like now and have to blow dry and use a curling iron daily to get it to even begin to look presentable. Now I am seeing a halo of frizz in the mirror. I am thinking of cutting back to a pixie and starting over. My hair grows very slow. Thank you for your wonderful suggestions.

I liked Olpaplex 3, but I LOVE K18! It is pricey, but a little goes a long way and it has been transformative on my fine, thin, fragile, highlift blonde. I have yet to find a purple toning product that actually works but doesn’t destroy my hair in one use. So far, the Christophe Robin baby blonde mask is my favorite, but I am still looking for a holy grail toning product.

I love Nexxus products--have been using since I was about 9 years old. Back then, it was a professional brand only sold in salons. I use Humectress as a weekly hair mask the night before I shower. Years ago I would put in damp hair after showering, but I don't need too much moisture. I avoid the roots.

tysm for this video! I would love a styling/curl video, I've been curling my hair every other morning trying to learn how to curl it and make it last more than 30 minutes before I go back to the office. Will definitely be checking out many of these products, looking forward to your next vid!

Oh I'm so happy you liked it love! Yah the curls staying is a whole other beast hah one tip I got actually was to hairspray your hair from the bottom versus the top so that way it almost is opposing gravity versus continuing to weight! I'll be sure to showcase that in another video sometime! Let me know how you like them! ♥️🙋🏼‍♀️

I'm trying to grow out my hair, but I bleach them, and I needed to cut top layers and the longest hair at the bottom were sooo dry, but I don't want to cut them because I want to put them in the bun as soon as possible so I bought K18. I used it as recommended after washing my hair with shampoo without conditioner, I'm before 4 round and so far I'm very pleased with the results. I regret I didn't buy it before cutting my hair. but well.

I find the Kevin Murphy Angel Hair products extremely strong in scent. So much so that when I got home from my hairdressers I washed my hair again to get rid of the smell. So, if you're sensitive to scents consider going into store to smell it before purchasing to decide if it'll bother you or not.

If you cut just like 2 inches of your hair and have a more blunt cut your hair will look sooooo much thicker!

  • @Asiantiger71

Loved this video. My hair is even more fine than yours and I really hate it. I have to keep it short , but it's about 7 inches on the top. I've been trying to curl it with both a flat iron and a round brush curling iron and I just can't get it to look nice! I'm just tired of having poker straight hair and think that if I could get a little bit of a loose curl, it'll look thicker.

Thank you for the kind words Lisa! Fine hair keeping a style can be super frustrating but I have a little tip that might help the next time you style. If you don't already, try hair spraying your hair from the bottom. As if you were spraying the aerosol upwards versus down. It's feels so unnatural from what we've seen in movies but this way the product will work against gravity versus with it! I've found just this small change has helped it keep the volume a little longer! :) I hope this helps a bit!

My type 1a hair is happiest with soft water and using products with the correct pH. If you want to determine if your water is affecting the health of your hair, try washing/conditioning with distilled water from the drug store (or collect some rain water). Sometimes I also add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to my distilled water wash bowl. My favorite shampoo is Nizoral. I don’t have dandruff, but I do get hormonal scalp acne/folliculitis and Nizoral controls yeast overgrowth on scalp; Nizoral has a more gentle form of sulfate called sodium laureth sulfate which thoroughly cleans my scalp but doesn’t strip my toner. Nizoral has a active ingredient called ketoconazole which has been clinically proven to help regrow (hormonal) hair loss. My dermatologist prescribed Spironolactone which is an antiandrogen and it has also helped my hormonal acne and hair thinning. I use only satin pillow cases, and always wear a hat in the winter/windy days/hot sunny days. I use a Tangle Teezer brush specifically for fine, thin, fragile hair that I bought at Ulta (the mint colored version). I have been using the Pura d’Or scalp serum for 3? years and I do think that it has helped regrow some hair at the temples where it was getting VERY thin. I tried Biotin supplements and it helped my hair grow faster but also messed with my hormones, so I stopped using Biotin (I still use Hask Biotin leave-in volumizing spray. I hope some of my suggestions help you too 💜

My hair is like yours. I would really like to have longer locks , without the hassle/ expensive of hair extensions ect. It's just to time consuming. I've had to have a reality check and realise, having it on the longish side, the ends inspite of all the lotions & potions . It still looks like rats tails. I just have a non layered blunt bob. It looks shinier & is lower maintenance. Also Baby shampoo is inexpensive and kinder to thin / fine hair.

Protein moisture balance is a real struggle for me. Yes, I have had my hair turn brittle from protein overload (apHogee 2 step treatment is amazing but I used it too frequently). I have had very good luck with Redken Extreme conditioner twice per week, and K18 bond repair once per week. My hair is type 1a and is high lift blonde with highlights, so very processed.

Does blonde hair make your hair thinner?

    • @AmandaWeldon
      @AmandaWeldon  3 роки тому

I had always assumed this but I did a little research! Great question and so interesting! It's actually a scientific fact that blonde hair is thinner.
"While non-blonde hair tends to have a scalp density of around 100,000 strands of hair, blonde hair averages at about 140,000 strands of hair… that's a big difference. It's that higher hair density that makes blonde hair thinner than other natural colors." (Found from this article online: rhrli.com/blog/blonde-hair-and-hair-loss/).
It's great to learn more about the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to what makes us, us! The other interesting part I read was that blonde hair is indeed more fragile. With this, I think a lot of people with blonde hair who experience higher incidence of breakage also have the result of thinner looking hair. This is why taking care of it is so important. :) Thanks for the question!

Ok, so the Olaplex changed my hair entirely!! After 2 uses, I look like I have regular thickness hair, bounce, shine, manageable for the first time in years, and held curl. What do I do now? Can I continue to use 4, and 5? I read it is for damaged hair only, so now that my hair looks so good, wha should I use?

    • @patriciakeats1621
