What a beautiful collection of machines. That Jig Borer is the Ducks Nuts. The shine on the machines tells a story in itself of the TLC that the owner instils upon them.
Im am a 55 year old tool and die maker. I never saw anyone use the flats on the boring head squared to the mill to set the boring bar position. We never stop learning. I have a monarch 10ee just like yours.
Wow! I just discovered your channel. I'm looking forward to many happy hours spent with you. I nearly had a nerdgasm when I first saw your shop. Thanks for sharing.
I've just purchased moore #3 and also similar boring head, but without the Vernier and could not understood how to use that. Boring adjustment seems so small, I was looking for info for how to use it. Great that you keep posting vids about Jig bore.
This is a subject shouted down by the trolls, moderators, and owners of the Fake machinist forums, and thus the most experienced machinist have been driven away long ago. Those clowns are here also, but no good content, they are the so called Hobby Community.
Hey Donnie, I live the videos. Thanks for sharing about jig boring. I am really trying to learn more about it. I have 2 jig borers. I have a Pratt & Whitney 2A (10,000 lbs) and a SIP MP4 (7,000 lbs). I am a very accomplished manual machinist and mechanical engineer. But the fine points of these machines, I am just learning. Please continue to share tips and tricks with jig borers. I will appreciate them. I don't have a 10EE, but I do have a Hendey T&G and a Pratt Whitney 12C lathes. ---Doozer
Doozer, this subject has been shouted down on that POS Fake Machinist forum for years, and the experienced hands driven off, I was stalked and threatened by order of the owner, now he, his troll, and the bully cop from texas can watch me on TV! You are a good guy in my book Doozer!
@@deedeeindustrialsuperprecision Well you are posting info about jig boring that I did not know, so please keep it up. I want to learn how to best use my wonderful machines.
What is your background and what part of the country are you from? Love the videos excellent content for us folks who have never used some of the machinery you have, cutter grinder, jig borer, etc..
The most important to me is a motorized work head with good bearings, that is often harder to find then the machine itself. I think the Cincinnati is easiest to use.

Hi, I wipe the machines down with kerosene, old navy trick from a local shop instructor from years past.
I bought a Moore #2 jig borer this summer. I also bought lots of Moore Tooling and I hope to get the machine up and running this winter.
At some point I will go through spindle bearing replacement, The replacement bearings are Barden 107 DUH, two pairs required
Great to see you back in action. Interesting video, as usual. I am looking forward to seeing “Moore” action. Cheers, Will
I have been winterizing everything, it is nice to not have to really work these days.

The Moore goes well with the Monarch ee!

I have more on the Moore. Good fun.
Fantastic show and now how !! Great show I enjoy every minute.
Thank you, this is an interesting experience for me as I am not a public person at all.
Great looking machine
Its old but still good !
@@deedeeindustrialsuperprecision don't dought it 1 bit
I did not know Moore has .0001 vernier scale thank for that tip
The later Ericson heads are a copy, apparently some of the Moore heads do not have the Vernier.
Very interesting I have a K. O. Lee tool cutter grinder I need to learn how to operate.
It is just like the other machines, a series of simple steps, what I am showing is easy after just a few hours getting used to the machine.
Hey DD maybe in the future I can pick your brain a little bit about the cutter grinder
@@kimber1958 Yes, keep in mind I only know what I need to do
good video
Thanks for the visit

Thank you I am currently in Washington state looking to move to America, Worked in a variety of machinist jobs, and retired motorcycle hoodlum.
Is there a follow up to this video showing the jig borer in action?

Moore please!
Moore coming!
Hi I am a 71 year old newbie can you do a shop tour. I am still working on my shop it’s 14 ft by 14 ft.
Yes, it is only 11 ft by 21 ft, I am looking at 30 ft by 40 ft when I flip this place in Wokeville for big bucks.
@@deedeeindustrialsuperprecision are you a hobby guy or a machines by profession

I'd love an opinion from you on getting a Cincinatti #2 or a Brown & Sharpe #13 cutter grinder. Both available cheap with some tooling.
The most important to me is a motorized work head with good bearings, that is often harder to find then the machine itself. I think the Cincinnati is easiest to use.
Your shop is way too small and cramped being stuffed full with so many machines for that Vernier caliper.
I predict a new building in my future...
