- After ranger Sharyn Broni returned the newly hatched Royalcam QT (Quarry Track) chick to the nest, YRK stands up briefly to touch and greet her new little one. What a precious moment with YRK and her wee chick! Feeding usually occurs within the first two days - the chick weighed in at 300g at hatching! Thank you for watching!

This tiny sweetling is so new so perfect so beautiful, my words can't convey how profound a blessing this precious new albie is. YRK expresses it perfectly with her tender kisses, beakings, whispering "I love you my baby, my deepest joy, you bring me my life just as I bring you yours. Mommy is here with you, rest now my dear love."
And she shimmies back over her baby with happy contentment. Soon she gets up again, looking with wonder at her wee treasure, nuzzling softly, then shimmy shimmy back down to peacefully brood.

Love, love, precious love!! 💕💕 I keep thinking how much this tiny baby must be feeling safe and loved for a Mom as loving and protective as YRK. She got up several times to look and talk to her baby like all Mothers who go to their baby's crib to make sure everything is ok and declare their love for its. And YRK did it here. Mommy YRK has declared several times her great love for her gorgeous baby. I love YRK so much. 💘😍💕💗🐣💕✌🌄

My first time seeing this. So amazing. The rangers going through the process of keeping them all safe. With the eagles you never know. With the care from the rangers it is easier to watch knowing everyone is there for them. BLESS this beautiful family and welcome to the world little ❤ one

@@ladyhawk I had never seen these regal birds and knew nothing about them until I ran across the channel while searching through M15 and Harriet's videos. Immediately fell in love. Found Jack and Harriet the same way. Had been watching M15 and Harriet for several years, also the nests at AEF. But, the Albies and Ospreys stole what was left of my heart. I knew quite a lot about the raptors, but I've learned so much more from your descriptions and answers to questions from others. I can't thank you enough for your knowledge and dedication, and your diligence in sharing that knowledge and dedication with all of us who haunt these channels. Sometimes it's not all pretty, and I've laughed much and shed many tears, as I know others have, but it's raw nature and you get what it gives you. Thank you, again and again. It's amazing how long these birds go without eating. Does the chick have to wait until dad gets back to have it's first meal?

What if the dad doesn't come back within the first 2 days to feed the baby? Since Mom has been on the nest and won't leave until Dad gets there she can't feed the baby.
The rangers arent going to let the baby starve dont worry
She still has something in her stomach to feed the baby for a couple of days, that little fluffy doesn’t need much yet!!
The incubating parents continues to feed the chick until the mate comes back. The chick does not require much food at all and YRK has plenty of squid oil in her stomach to last several days to a week.
Lady Hawk, do they take all the eggs to the incubator for hatching or just some of them?
