But a mod that makes use of a player's microphone isn't really an out there idea, and I could see a voice-recognition program being embedded within. While the conversation was smoother than would be realistic, I thought maybe Zacho cut out parts of the scene where the box would say "I don't understand" like an old text adventure game, in order to preserve the atmosphere. That still seemed well within the possibility to me. One of the reasons I was able to buy into this so easily was, as weird as it is to say, was the acting. Zacho didn't ham up what was happening. He wasn't acting like someone taking the game too seriously and acting like his life was in danger, like a lot of videos of this type. He was acting like a Minecraft mod showcaser getting some fun spooks. It seems like a small difference but it really does make the entire experience seem so much more authentic. Francis probably _would_ have tipped me off if I wasn't _already_ completely and wholly convinced it was legit.
It feels like as he plays, his souls get sucked into it where he stops, realizing he's not in the real world anymore and all he can see is Minecraft. That's why he can't leave.
I LOVE the detail of how when he swapped from his torch to his compass while talking to Francis, you could hear Chirp playing since, without the light out, the Phantom couldn't manipulate his hearing to repeat his voice!

never have i seen minecraft be this intense or creepy and i always though that the vanilla sound effects where the only thing that can be creepy about the game. this is actually the first world i would call scary because it actually got me a few times with all of those custom effects. This seems like a very interesting map to play with a friend because that forces you to talk and engage with one of the features of this map. from a technical point of view i would be really interested to see how all of the works with no mods, i can tell mediately how this would work with mods but as a "vanila" world this must have been difficult to pull of.

I ate that up like a good ol' birthday cake right there, it was delicious. I'd love a series continuation, but understand if the budget doesn't allow it. It works great as a stand-alone as well! that's actually so cool, it's like realistic phasmophobia in minecraft, you can even talk to ghosts(kinda) and to think that it was all made with datapacks, it's insane
Super sick story, it took me some time to figure out this wasn't a real world. Very big fan of the different ghost types, the way each were presented and the mechanics you used to explore things. ASL is also a weirdly rare code in these types of things, so it's cool to see it utilized. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but the encounters and lead-up were all very well done.
