    it was really freaky because there's lots of gross stuff like when Deborah peels the skin off her arm but you can still see her as a real person like if it was your mom. It's actually scary because your not only scared of Deborah but scared for her and the film does a great job making you care about her character.

      And ppl w extreme alzheimers and dimentia can go through that stuff. They can rip their skin off bc they think its hurting them or that its not their skin. Its pretty scary having a family member w that.

    Scariest part is when she plays the piano and looks back at the camera😰

      Tori Tovo oh hell yes your right! That piano scene scared the heck out of me! She was playing it slowly, and she looks at the camera with a demonic grin. When I first watched the movie, I skipped the piano scene because it was so creepy. Her smile was so demonic when she was playing the piano, and it was just an uneasy feeling about that scene that gave you the chills.

    I thought this film was excellent and very well done. The more "horror" aspects were so subtle at first that they just drew me in and made the whole experience seem more real. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the ending though.

      Titus Miller I keep my comments here spoiler free, but I will say I enjoyed the ending and felt it fit the feel of the movie very well. :)

    I had no knowledge of this movie going in and sat down to a friend watching it (meaning I didn't even know it was supposed to be a horror film)....I quickly learned to ask these kinds of questions before sitting down to Netflix with that particular friend...

    • @raiderchris5517
      @raiderchris5517 9 років тому +1

      blackbite50 That's what we try to do here. Frame the movie so the audience knows what to expect but not to spoil anything. Deborah had me freaking out (a little ;)) more than once. ;)

      so... what you're really saying is that particular friend put you in a pretzel position while you watched Netflix?

      Haha! I envy you. Going into this thinking it was a documentary would be the best way to experience it.

    I watched this earlier with my best friend at her house early in the morning, and it was so scary.

    Don't forget her forehead which was scary. It was it's own character. But seriously it was very good, creepy found footage and I watched it alone late at night.

    It was well done movie it is so creepy, but it gets to a point where it is terrifying. When she starts to peel her skin off and when she starts eating the child, man it gives you the damn chills.

  • @mitchjohnson4714
    @mitchjohnson4714 4 роки тому +1

    Everybody always talks about snake-face. For me, the scariest part of the movie was when she starts degloving her arm.

    My grandma has dementia, and my mother and her siblings have all said that she seems like another person when she's not in her right mind! Doesn't that sound like being possessed?

    • @Elizabeththegreatest
      @Elizabeththegreatest 8 років тому +1

      That's why this movie scared me, because someone I love is going through something very similar to this! I don't believe in demonic possession, but knowing that my grandma, who's been pretty much in charge her entire adult life, doesn't have control of her mental faculties anymore is pretty scary in itself!

    Best Story Ever !! I am so shocked and even the ending scared me. If 2nd story comes,, Hope Deborah shows her history .. like what happened before and how she possessed.. and story of the little girl who smiled like Dejardeng !! (is this correct spelling??)

      At the end the girl gets possessed by Dejardeng supposedly because of that smile she made at the interview and the legacy of Dejardeng continues

    Awesome film! Although horror is my fav genre it’s rare one gets me creeped out... I love horror based off of something real or plausible insidious=sleep paralysis... the taking of Deborah Logan= Alzheimer’s

      Raider Chris I couldn't remember who caused me to watch this movie, so thanks for hitting me back Chris. Dude! This movie just didn't do it for me. I found it to be comical a lot of times. There were some moments in the 1st half I enjoyed. The build up mostly. The woman who played Deborah was excellent casting. The daughter as well. Really enjoyed the documentary part, but once they started going more into her issues, the decisions that were being made by EVERYBODY was ridiculous! lol I'm pretty good at suspending disbelief but this was asking for way too much. I would say it was close to being incredible, but just missed the mark for me. But I still trust your opinions and look forward to more reviews and recommendations. Talk soon! :)

      Comical? Man...75% of what happens in this movie is REAL SHIT. Ppl w alzheimers and dimentia do crazy things sometimes thats fucking terrifying to see. Trust me, the shit u see her doing is not exaggerated. This is what u deal w when u have a family member w one of these horrible diseases.

  • @WeGetMad

    I really didn't like this movie. It seemed generic and wasn't well acted, also too much shaky cam in my opinion. Also jumping in your seat shouldn't be a staple of horror movies that's just a jump scare.

    • @btnhstillfire
      @btnhstillfire 4 роки тому +3

      What? The acting was literally award worthy. This wasnt a jump scare movie. Its a slower burn w creep factor. Its about having a family member go through alzheimers and not knowing what the fuck is gna happen. Ive literally seen some of the shit she does in this movie happen to my great grandma. I also investigate haunted locations. This was easily the most well done horror film in at the least the last 20 years.

    Story's great. Except for the main character, the acting is HORRIBLE. Direction and cinematography, also HORRIBLE. Way too much shaky cam. The found-footage format was unnecessary and ruined the movie.

    • @btnhstillfire
      @btnhstillfire 4 роки тому +3

      Bo. Ill just say u are 100% wrong. Acting is top notch. Screne is not shaky at all. Found footage was the way to go and they knocked it out of the park. Thats why it has good review scores across the board.

      brad k the acting is “top-notch”? Do you think the acting was on the level of a Daniel Day-Lewis, Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington Jeff Bridges, Philip Seymour Hoffman, or Meryl Streep? Those actors are “top-notch”.
