    Many of your viewers are like myself older women who share your views, for fun could you have a “ twin” older person with you in your videos: mother, aunt, gran, good friend. Seventy can be stylish too!

    Your videos have really helped me refine my style and closet. My favorite hack is tone on tone dressing. Having the texture of the fabrics be the interplay has made having a curated closet stay interesting while being refined.

    Jeans substitute. Sturdy, not too expensive blue pants. Except for doing construction or hiking through brush, my blue pants serve the jean function but I can also wear them to work.
    They look relaxed corporate with a blazer or blouse and pumps and look running errands casual with t shirts and sneakers.

    I like to wear black and white only for the Yin and Yang effect. 🖤🤍 No denim for me! I find denim fabric to be very uncomfortable (and people for the most part look bad in denim jeans). 😅

    Great vid Emily! I live in jeans most of the time so I love the BWGD concept! My wardrobe is pretty neutral (no brown!) but I love a pair of funky earrings (I have very short hair) and a pop of colour!

    I love your ideas and style, you have helped me develop a more personal style for myself. I’d say that if I had a go to hack it would be to emphasize my better physical attributes which are my long limbs. It’s usually my legs more than my arms but sometimes the reverse. If I wear baggy all over I feel frumpy.

    I’ve recently done some shopping for spring and summer and I can’t tell you how much I HATE ruffles and puff sleeves and thank God you don’t show them in your videos, but they are everywhere. How do you feel about ruffles etc? I feel they look like something a child would wear or like you live on the prairie.

    • @maureenlancaster1694
      @maureenlancaster1694 Рік тому +2

      Ruffles puff sleeves and tiers in dresses. Goddamn awful and suit nobody not even little girls. Should be banned imo.

      Absolutely adore 💟 ultra feminine pieces. 🎀My girly-girl spirit soars at the sight of ribbons, ruffles, puffs, lace, flowers🌸, etc. on females ♀️ of all ages〰️esp. when they're beautifully done.
      Believe women of all ages can do it tastefully. Up through the 90s, I fully indulged that side of my personality for ⛪️ church & Country 🤠 Western dancing. For whatever reasons, I slowly moved away from that stylistically in the next decade. 😉Although I did keep a trio of tiered fit & flare skirts that I'll wear occasionally when the⚡️mood strikes. Otherwise, feel totally absurd in things that lean CottageCore or Boho Chic. Too costumey😳.
      💯% Merged into Minimalist when it comes to color, pattern, fuss, & formality. Statement sleeves were never my thing😖. Not minimal when it comes to actual ⬅️wardrobe size➡️. Do like having lots of choices👍, but tend to keep it more simple & classic.
      I've been happily "No Buy" & shopping my closet for several years now. Have capped most of my collection & been quite content. Certainly have some spots to fill or replace. Otherwise, in order to buy an item in certain categories, I gotta be willing to let something go.
      When I went to rehab last summer after two surgeries for a broken leg🦵& sprained ankle, I somehow lost two pairs of shorts. 😊Eagerly waiting for a pastel pink skort💗 & white platform high tops to arrive before the week's out🎉!

      I'm not a fan of them for myself but I can see the appeal because of their feminine vibe. You know me, I'm a big believer in 'to each their own' :-)

  • @liesswartebroeck4966

    Most of my clothes are brown (less harsh than black), black, gray, khaki and some blue jeans.
    I don't know why, but I find blue denim hard to style sometimes. Not all blues go with all colors??
    I'm going to try the tip of the bold accessories. Recently I bought a bright pink knitted sweater. Although I thought the color looked good on me, I didn't wear it much. Is it the cut? Or do I subconsciously not dare to go for that bright color? I'm going to delve more into accessories until I feel better about it.
    May I ask how tall you are? I myself am 1,63m (5ft3 I think). You vary with the shape of your bottoms. I always wear skinnies or leggings with oversized upper wear. Wide pants make me bulky, flared pants don't look good on me and harem pants make me even smaller...

    • @EmilyWheatley
      @EmilyWheatley  Рік тому

      I'm 5'5" and wide definitely looks bulky on me if it's not high rise, or cropped, tapered or with heels.

      😉In your camp. Like 'em, but I've kept away from jeans👖for the last two decades. They just feel too structured & miserable, esp. when it starts to heat up🌡. Do own some blue denim〰️ two dresses, two chambray shirts, & a vest〰️but they don't get much play.
