I was in Lithuanian military. Iron Wolf brigade, Mechanized infantry battalion. 1. We speak Lithuanian language 😂 2. Chicken broth sucks🤮(it’s better to get tea or coffee). Soldiers would just give away broth for nothing. 3. Cherry flavour drink is the best one! There are also orange👍🏼and lemon👎🏻 flavour. DONT ADD EXTRA SUGAR😅🥰 4. Chocolate is the most expensive item to trade in our army, you could get at least 5 cigarettes for them🤩(you can melt ir with nuts, or eat it with crackers, just don’t break your teeth😂) 5. For better taste of MRE we would add ketchup😋(btw let it sit for more time next time, it wont come out like a meatloaf😂) 6. Had a chance to train with American forces aswell! We kicked your ass in training, but you guys are the nicest people I had to meet. Love your vids guys❤️👊🏼 keep it up! With love from Lithuania 🇱🇹

There's a pretty strong generational language divide in Lithuania. People who grew up under Soviet occupation will typically speak Lithuanian and Russian, and people who have grown up since the fall of the Soviet Union in an independent Lithuania will typically speak Lithuanian and English.
Whoever is doing the editing keep it coming. The natural comedy of these two mixed with these (editing) skills makes great videos every time!! Love these keep them coming
Lithuanian rations are my favs to take with me when I do any sort of airsoft event or overnight camping. Small menu size but I just never seem to get tired of them, also super affordable at around $10 here in the UK when US MREs can cost upwards of $20
Fun fact, the only time in my service when someone from our squad had to use the towlette was to clean their boots. Gotta say, it does give them a nice smell 😅
The little zip tie is for that plastic bag (green outside package) , when you eat the meal , put your garbage in that bag and seal it with the little zip tie. WE use it for it:)

Guys, just for educational purpose, people in Lithuania speak Lithuanian language which in fact is one of the oldest spoken languages in the World. And of course almost a whole population is bilingual (Lithuanian/English, Lithuanian/Russian), big part of them even trilingual.
@@VancouverInvestor you are right, I’m not a linguist tho, but Lithuanian language in fact is close to Sanskrit and has some words that sounds and is written almost the same.

Me trying the lithuanian mre back in a camp back then was amazing, we were basically on a full day march from point A to point B and I was waiting for the good ass MRE because ive never tried it ever until then. Once I got it, the Pork and buckwheat stew variant. That was one of the best things I've eaten during the camp weeks, and I even got a second one because some kid didnt wanna finish. The constipation was worth it. PS the crackers are only good for fighting, it's hard enough to kill someone.
@@ShiftFire good ones are indian chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, beef and vegetable stew, lamb and vegetable stew and shepherd's pie steer clear from the breakfast ones most of them are nasty😂 especially "Breakfast Pattys"🤢
Northern Europe, not Eastern. Lithuanian is one of the oldest languages still in use. A lot of rivers and lakes across Europe have names that were derived from the Lithuanian language.
My buddy who worked in a military hospital brought taiwanese mre once. It's all dry stuff. Crackers, jerky, powder drinks. The crackers are ok though (and cheap). You can buy the items individually in a regular grocery store but never in a bundle
I think it's time to declassify a secret of preparing our "panzercrackers", that we substitute our field shovels with and reinforce our tanks with: We need typical ingredients for bread: flour, water, yeast and salt (yes, salt in bread is always an ingredient, not a spice) We form typical bread dough from it, form into crackers and now the heating is the most important part. My grandpa (who served in back then communist Polish navy) told the story of manufacture and you needed a brick oven. You heat it up to beefy temperatures (so that brick accepts enough heat), then you let the fire die out (never extinguish it by yourself), take out the ashes and there you put those crackers to bake. After they're baked enough, we take them out and usually store them in a warehouse, accidentally letting them to dry out even more. The result is that even after dipping them in coffee or tea they still can break teeth, especially choppers.
I think it's awesome you guys found a nice niche for your channel. The comedy is very genuine and your chemistry is just spot on. There's people like angry cops that I love but you two definitely have a special place in my subscription queue
American chocolate has an acid in it that has the rough taste of vomit, used out of necessity as transporting milk to where chocolate was made in the US required it or they’d have cheese or yogurt by the time it got there. Now apparently it’s a marketing thing, they won’t remove the acid as they believe Americans will reject chocolate without it. As an Australian I can confirm, the one time I tried an American chocolate I almost projectile vomited
You guys are right about the tray being used for flame heating using the tablets (Esbit?) that it came with. The zip ties are meant to provide utility tools for the soldiers out in the field and not necessarily for use with the MRE (some of them provide a long straw and resealable bags, among other things, as well). There might be specific uses for the Lithuanian soldiers though as I'm only basing this knowledge off of watching countless SteveMRE1989 videos. In any case, I can kind of appreciate the fact that you guys aren't aware of these as it proves that this is, in fact, a genuine blind review.
I had C-Rations my first 3 years as an Airborne Infantryman. Most of them weren’t bad if you could heat it up, but that meant a heat tab or fire and that’s not tactical. During basic I twice got a C-Rat with a 4 pack of cigarettes, they were in the packet with the gum, tp, salt.
You should get some Portuguese MREs! I have watched a few reviews and it always stands out to me that it's always quite better than what other countries serve. We might be a poor-ish country but we're always well fed for sure.
I serve in a voluntary militia called the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, so I have some experience eating these in field ops and drills. One thing you forgot to do before you actually heated the food, is massage the bag for a minute or so to make it more into a mush rather than large pieces which are disgusting
I was in Lithuania for a month training with NATO lol. The Lithuanians were always trying to trade their MREs with us. They only have 2 kinds of them and they aren’t the worst
I think a French or Italian mre would be hilarious bc those countries value fine cuisine so highly, it would be funny to se how they take that, and screw it over by making it an army ration.
