Love those Mississippi accents from my sistas lol. Coming from a San Tone Texas Dude, 26 yrs in trucking with my own authority running stepdeck with ramps trying to keep my doors open thru these horrible rates, luckily for me just run Texas and still stay busy somewhat. Peace sis hope all is well out here still.
You are so right I went through a company call transportation compliance they turn around and pretty much set up all the paperwork for me and pay them one flat fee or you could do it in stages I have a buddy that's doing it that way
It will cost about one dollar per mile just for diesel approximately unless you are getting fuel surcharges or discounts with fuel purchases. Anyone who is considering buying a truck should work for a carrier for at least a year and one half before considering buying a truck. And another piece of advice don't buy a used truck from a used truck dealer that buys their trucks at an auction? You ask why? Well they will buy the trucks at auction and then re sell the trucks for double the price they paid at auction. This is a RIP off plan and simple. However buying a truck at auction don't do that unless you are very mechanically capable yourself. Buying a used truck is something that you need to do with a lot of caution..!!.. There are good used trucks on the market but know what you are doing before you buy that used truck. One of the most basic things that you can check is if the truck is manual transmission does the clutch brake work? Do the king pin bushings have wear ? There are many more things to check before you get serious about buying the used truck..!!..
Thank you LeeLee for the info. I fell back from trucking & started working from home. Hubby still driving trucks for company & home everydayhh. Life is lovely. Definitely had to switch it up.
Great info I’m enjoying your content. The scac code is used mostly at the ports. I’m sure it’s used in other divisions of trucking as well but I’ve dealt with it mostly in intermodal freight.
Keep expenses low and as many people out of ya pocket as possible(no load board fee, no factoring co, no dispatch services, no fuel card with hidden fees, etc).
lmao. It's why she needs a break. Trying to do it ALL by yourself quickly leads to burn out. Look around you, show me the lone ranger that is successful.
Good luck without using load board at all and good luck waiting 30 40 days to get paid without factoring, however I do agree on the fuel card part, straight cash homie. Peace!!!!
Thanks that’s some good info for anyone that’s interested in becoming a carrier. You look cute with your hair like that also are you ok down there in Mississippi ? The state capital city Jackson, smh praying that them folks get that water issue fix soon. Y’all Governor is trippin, I just watched him on tv. Much success to you.
Just FYI my good peoples keep trucking/ Motive has a load board, but I think you can only access on your laptop (I haven’t figured out on the app yet), they do have some decent rates and a good two good factoring companies to use in my opinion is (1. Apex and 2. OTR). Great content ma’am- us old heads have to remember there are new business owners coming into this game everyday so whatever we can do to help them.
Hey Lee Lee did you not get a letter from FMCSA… it was something about a supervisors course in order to be in compliance with your operating authority and avoid a fine or penalty? the class was like $100 and you take it online

Thank you so much because right now I’m getting 75% of the load instead of 85% that’s $1000 difference per check

Great teacher 😊
What's a good fuel card program right now?
A to B or Motive/ ELD has fuel cards bro.
RTS has a decent one I heard, I don't use none of them, just mudflap occasionally that's attached to my own business debit card. Peace
Where can I find a trailer starting a new authority with no business credit just yet. In Memphis area..

Good Info. 👍
LeeLee can you explain what IFTA is? and do you need to pay for it? Thanks
Yes, we have to pay every quarter. It's basically fuel tax, we have to keep tabs on where we fueled up in each state and document it.
Cool 👍🏿
Would you ever consider getting into refrigerated work?
I don't think I will but you never know
