Dukes, this video explains why you are at the top of what you do. It explains perfectly what recruiting is, what it involves and what it requires...and what Auburn, specifically, has to do. This is Recruiting 101. Thabk you sir!

What most people are failing to see is that Freeze was mainly focused on recruiting in 2023 and not taking control of the offense... except for maybe in the games against Georgia and Alabama.
From my perspective, you're gonna see a major improvement in the offense with CHF calling the plays and running the offense in 2024! That much I can say confidently! The major upgrade in the WR room will definitely play a role and show up on the stat sheets all season long. I also believe that Auburn is primed and ready to run the ball in order to set up the play-action. If you watch the highlights of Payton Thorne while he was at MSU, you'll clearly see that he was very successful playing behind a great running game, having competent receivers and a heavy dose of play-action. With another season under his belt at Auburn, you're also gonna see Thorne making faster decisions when it comes to the RPO reads. Then you add in how well Thorne ran the ball with the zone read in the second half of last season, incorporate that with a solid run game, and mix in Freeze's RPO offense... it all starts to become very obvious to me that the offense is gonna be much more improved in 2024.
Imo the most important aspect that most people aren't talking about or taking into consideration, is the fact that Philip Montgomery will not be running the offense anymore. There was an obvious power struggle with the play calling going on for the majority of 2023. Also Payton wasn't here for the spring so they struggled to pick a QB1 in the beginning of the season. Not to mention against a lot of opponents, our offensive game plans were atrocious last year. I can say with confidence that'll all go away in 2024 because CHF will have full control of the offense.
The glaring deficiency with this roster is along the defensive line. Defensive Tackle is the position group we should be worried about, not QB/Payton Thorne. Unless these freshmen DT's (Lindsey & Blocton) absolutely just play lights out, they're desperately gonna need more proven/dominant talent from that position group in 2024! Hopefully they'll be able to find a couple of talented DT's in the spring portal window.
With all that said, I predict Auburn will go 9-3 in 2024, 10-3 with a bowl game victory over Clemson. War Damn Eagle! 🦅

Zion Grady likes Auburn more than I think even the coaches knew he liked Auburn. His teammate is committed to Auburn as well.

We have traditionally recruited in the top 15 but rarely finish the season ranked. So my question is what happens if we consistently recruit in the top ten but continue to lose 5-7 games per year what do we do then? Gus usually had a top 10-12 class but only finished in the top 10 once. Do you hold onto a coach who can recruit really well but also lose a lot of games?

@@dukesthescoopyea my fear is that we go 6-6 next season then 7-5 in 2025 and that’s it. If we go 6-6 again this year I expect the recruiting to fall off significantly. It’s easy to recruit in year 1-2 when everything is fresh and the wins and losses isn’t as crucial. By the end of year 2 and 3 you need to win to keep the recruiting going. Hopefully I’m wrong and they prove me wrong but I’m expecting 6-7 losses this season which will make it hard to put together a top 10 class. I’m not even mentioning top 5 classes yet. Those are for teams who consistently win 9+ games a year.

It was year 1. Let's get there. Got to recruit to win. The honeymoon is over now. So now Freeze has got to win to continue this recruiting. Freeze was exactly who Auburn needed. Auburn had to have a recruiter to get the program off the floor. He's got the recruiting going. Now he has to make this season look a lot better. I don't see a playoff run in 2024. But 2024 can make a 2025 run possible.

@@michaelbee2165I agree. Recruiting at a high level doesn’t guarantee success but not recruiting at a high level does guarantee that you won’t have a chance to compete for national championships. I still think freeze has a big problem for the next 2 seasons because the roster isn’t good enough to have the worst qb in the conference and still succeed. Our passing game and qbr was last in the sec last year and we have the same qb minus our best receiver.

Actually with the exception of the last few years, Auburn consistently ended up in the top 25 if not top 15 after it was all said and done. We’ve just had a bad few years after Gus left

"How auburn can produce a top 5 recruiting class consistently" by paying them 💀. Auburn ranked last in the sec in passing offense and 121st in the country have no proven starter at qb but still pulled two top 10 wr recruits including the 2nd best wr in the country money talks don't over complicate it (not an Auburn diss just the current state of cfb)

I guess everybody else is lily white clean since only Auburn could have had their success recruiting through paying them. 🙄 Casual. It was year one for Freeze dude. Now they have to demonstrate improvement on the field. Especially if the recruiting program continues to roll. Gotta start to win.
