So I just purchased the TRULOK TC for my Jeep. Other than the description on the website, Id like to know what you guys did to make it reliable for the NAG1. The TTC is the main failure on these due to poor clutch piston/shaft tolerances and a junk fluid oring. What is the "TRULOK" design and what was done to address the stock TQ flaws?? This new TQ looks like a beat up 2013 reman painted purple and its packaging was horrible. TC was full of cardboard fiber chunks. Inside the coupling is all marred up too. Sure hope its as good as you guys claim cause we are off to a rough start right out of the box. Starting to think I should have bought a Sonnax TQ.
Very well presented and very professional,,I'm sure they make excellent convertors,,,just want to clear up some confusion about stock convertors. Speaking strictly Ford convertors 89-95 e4od had single plate from factory 96-98 e4od we're called multi plate by Ford and had two friction surfaces,,these are considered junk Now all diesel convertors from 99 up have a triple disc from the factory,,,most companies lie and tell potential customers that there 2001 truck only has a single plate when it's not true,, All 99 up come from the factory with a triple disc convertor 2003 up they upgraded again and got rid of the plastic stator thrust washers and replaced with Torrington needle bearings 2004 up diesel= has all furnace braced fins on impeller and turbine All stock convertors from 99 up have stronger heat treated splines in turbine,,stripped splines are rarely a failure,,, actually seen more with aftermarket (upgraded) supposed stronger parts Also the stock 6.0 converter is a really strong and efficient design with a torque multiplication k factor of 1.9 Most companies are just installing sonnax components,,which is fine Then others are selling a stock triple disc convertor from 03 up and calling it there heavy duty yada yada yada,,,just a stock converter
wondering whats the difference of 5 star converter and triple lok converter....i assume there 2 disc less but other than that.? can someone explain me?
xv70 1 me to, but you always have to take into consideration as far as how hard folk is pushing these things compare to what stage trans/tq converter they bought
Best explanation out there thank you!
somebody on the r&d team did alot of dirt bike clutches...genius upgrade for the clutch system
I just bought on to replace my PNH triple clutch converter. We'll see how well this works out.

Did ATS ever make a 5 star converter for the 6L80E/90E typically found in HD GM gas applications?
Wow. 😮 Fantastic! Thx so much for video explanation. 👌
