Good to see this layout still in operation!! I remember first seeing his layout in an episode of Tracks Ahead on PBS in the early 90’s.

I had the same issue with screwing the turntable down with thick benchwork. So I used your tip and it worked great!

Great Video, My Father In law was A yardmaster at the B&O then Chessie Railroad in Columbus Ohio Parsons AVE.
He took us on a tour all the time. The turnstyle Would Turn The engine from eastbound to westbound.
    Refuel and go.
In a model this is turning the engine 180 deg. So i was Shorting my system on DCC?
You enter on the right side positive in respect to the engine after 180 deg turn the engine is leaving on neg on right side.?
I can talk live Trains forever but Thank You and all your viewers.
Samhane11 Cols Ohio. PS CSX killed the Chessie Railroad.
Laying off Thousands. Buckeye Steel was also effected.
Remote Dispatching out of Florida. 1
Today all towers and maintenace facility and old turnstyle?
    Gone.
I will Never run CXS ON MY layout as to honnor my fallen Dad. Go Chessie.
And Bill Simons Yardmaster Columbus Ohio.
Thank You For your awsome video Sir.

how true is that, prototypical and people will tear it apart, make it fictisious and it's the best layout going. this is a very nice tour. and looking good.
one thing I wish walthers would do. and other companies. do programing videos with the different controllers, like NCE, Digitrak, so on. start with NCE, lol, I know some one who uses that.
I am having a hard time with the controller that comes with it, wow for advanced.

sparky107107 Yes Spark, as you know I'm a prototype modeler, and I do take a little heat for my craziness and obsession to the detail. However, I have a target to reach for, it's because a measuring stick exists to meter my successes or failures. But I'll take that as I have that defined target to target my vision. I have nothing but respect for all modelers regardless of what inspires the, be that the desire for an exacting replication of a piece of the world and the piece of history I'm trying for, or if that's some feeling driven by your own imagination. I would encourage anyone to disregard any fear of fellow modelers opinion and do whatever, however as you are inspired too. Remember, it's YOUR hobby, YOUR time and money invested, and ONLY YOU that has to be pleases and satisfied with your results and your layout. So I personally will take anyone's opinion, praise, or criticism, and I get better for much of it, but it doesn't drive me, change my inspiration, nor dissuade my "crazy" commitment to reach the vision that inspires me to reach for replication over invention of theme. All I suggest is, it's yours, but if you have a clear vision, either directly and exacting from the real world or by the creative invention of your own freelance vision, that vision helps you have a vision that the only judge of your efforts that measuring against matters, that is are you happy with it? That's the only true measure of success in our hobby. With that, I can say I am with my efforts, while not perfect, they continue to improve, in no small part to our community, and this fellow should be happy with his efforts, freelance or not, his work is beautiful.

@@markframe4047 I think he wants to know how it keeps sound through the dead area in the turntable.

With a keep alive that works for any longer than 10 seconds the locomotive should keep sound through the dead area
