I just can’t say enough how much I LOVE this watches tv channel. It’s just great content; it’s informative and beautifully photographed. Nobody else on UA-cam is providing this niche watch service. I love love LOVE this channel!!
I appreciate the engineering behind this, but watching you go through the setting process makes me appreciate the simpler(at least in my mind) setting/winding of "typical" watches. An acquired taste for sure 😄
That is the most swish timepiece I've ever seen and I bet it's a eye wateringly expensive price. It almost looks like a smart watch that Samsung would come out with. It's totally cool and bonkers at the same time
I have always wanted to own a Ressence but have struggled to choose a model. I think this might be the one for me- seems like a good simple distillation of what makes the brand special.
Looks like a next generation smart watch that doesn’t do anything a smart watch can do. However I am the kind of guy that would buy it if I had the money. Very impressed with the engineering that went into it.
Ressence is the watch brand that sparked my interest in watches in the first place. I came across their first watch by accident a few years ago. What would I give to see their watches in real life Many thanks for the video 🤩👍
" So how does the time function transfer when there is no direct connection? This is where it becomes sexy right!" Fabulous comment, said with your usual brand of enthusiasm and love for horology!
Now thats innovative and arguably more practical, its only a regulator after all, the dive watch version makes even more sense. Can you see why compared to this, a Dubois or Nardin seems unnessarily complicated and impractical....novelties? This and the Dubois interview are my two favorite shows of yours so far. 2022 is shaping up well.
Thanks 🙏 a lot for the explanation. Setting the watch itself will be a chore if you’re not used to keeping it in a winder, but that’s the fun 🤩 of being in this hobby as a watch collector & an enthusiast. Request you to bring out more videos like this with interesting 🤨 complications (poetic, gaming, automatons etc).
Very nice watch..but am I allowed to say?? This looks exactly like the Samsung Watch Active 2 smartwatch I use on the rowing machine! The internal tech is somewhat different though! It's really very interesting.
I still have issues with how the magnetic magic works binding the two components, and I missed the second's dial as in another type 3, but from the design point of view I understand why is not present in this one, anyway, one of the coolest looking watches I ever saw, outstanding engineer in these pieces, I was waiting for this review, thanks Marc, amazing job, Cheers
Thanks for an interesting video Marc Andre. An interesting concept, design and engineering. My main concern is that it could appear a bit ‘gadgety’, but one thing for sure, it looks like fun and that’s one of the main points about our hobby, don’t you think?🙏👍🏻
Great video once again Marc. Lot's of details. I love the brand. I love that it is so different than the heritage brands. It would be very interesting to know, how an individual managed to develop the brand from "0". How did he do the engineering (as Benoît is a designer), how did he manage to fund the development of the prototypes (just the development of original, kind of basic, electronic products, easily go of to 300-500.000+ euros). Would love an in-depth interview with Benoît to know beyond the watch mechanics, the business mechanics. Thanks!
And that’s indeed a very good idea and would for sure be very interesting as his path is definitely an original one in this industry. And what would be even cooler is to visit him in Belgium! Thanks for the comment and have a great day
Dear Marc André, your WATCHES TV show inspires me to be a watchmaker. I am going to be in Geneva in March 2022. May I invite you to enjoy a drink and start a dialogue on my new watch project? -Frank
@@watchestv-com Exactly. Human imagination and inventiveness knows no bounds. What's more, is how creativity is unleashed given strict parameters. In this case, watchmaking. I'm gobsmacked.
Your presentation is stellar, but that watch is totally useless;))) One needs a Phd just to get it going... How about a wind set and go instead? But yes, i know, "different courses for different horses". I couldn't stop smiling seeing you struggles to get it set;) Imagine when you bang the watch on something and the oil runs down you fancy suit, Good job Mark, truly enjoyed it!
Very happy you enjoyed it and i was indeed happy that my Phd in nuclear physics was finally put to the test 😉😉😂 the very best to you and this timepiece is really quite special
Very cool watch. Fantastic video, always wondered hw that works. One thing that always worried me about them is the way you set and wind it, ETA 2824-2's cannot handle hand winding, you absolutely should not hand wind a 2824. This has happened if you wind a 2824 and the rotor starts spinning. Did they address that here? I don't know why but watching you set that is unintentionally hilarious.
Took me a little while to get this right to be totally honest, but once you get it it’s ok. Actually you’re doing so many back and forth with it when you’re setting it that it’s enough to wind it and then a winder is not a bad idea ;) the best to you
Nef, your statement is not 100%correct. Like lots of ETA Automatic movements with ratched wheels, the tolerance of the spinning rotors are 45° from flat laying position, and the movement is surely designed to be handwound and cant be overwound. The Problem of the 2824-2 line, is that in comparison with the 2892-2 it is pretty hard to handwind. Otherwise its a fantastic, almost indestructible and super reliable movement.
@@Steveo15 I'm not a watchmaker but I have experienced this issue on 3 2824-2's and its not an issue of overwinding, which is impossible on this movement or any automatic. They were not hand wound excessively, one a Certina came to me that way, one a Damasko has the reversing gear issue and the thrid was a Glycine also with a reversing gear issue. They did a redesign on the -2's, even Sellita and STP did the same but the issue remains. You absolutely should never handwind a 2824. Its an auto, I think the video has the best idea, keep it on a winder. They are super reliable you are correct but I promise you if you hand wind it often its going to have issues.
A $40,000 Watch that should realistically cost $5000 and let’s not forget it contains a cheap mechanism that cost hundreds of dollars, watches that cost more than a car when the car took far expense and R&D, you are a true sucker if you buy this watch
The price has really got to do with the small production quantities and in this case you're right, it's not the movement which explains the price but all the complimentary development and manufacturing.
Alert, the bomb is set to go off at 03h.15m.35s. What time is now?? Wait a minute, just give me 5 minutes and I'll let you know!. This is the horological equivalent of a Victorian folly, decorative but useless

Waou, so nice to read this, thanks so much and makes us feel proud ;) much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
My absolute crush in watch territory!😍
i’m a car enthusiast and it resembles Koenigsegg to me! The price is worth every penny!
Oh that's a very nice analogy (especially for a half swedish guy like me 😉)
I’ve watched your video countless times preparing myself for the opportunity to own a Type 3. Thank you very much.
That’s the type of comment we really like to read and wish the best with your Type 3 to come 🙌
This piece is incredible! This video made it very easy to understand the complex movement and dial. This is next generation watch making.
how the minute hand moves around and delivers the hour marker to the right spot, at the right time... i love it!
And I will soon show you another take on this principle, really quite something ;) Just a bit of tease...
That is one really cool watch. I had no idea it could glow in the dark.
Just soooo cool in the dark actually!! Thanks

Agreed. Minimalism has never been so complicated. I need an Advil.
It takes 15 minutes to set the time 😅
Excellent explanation
Glad it was helpful!
I love these, they look like nothing else on the market.
Great unboxing video! Proud as a Belgian to have this brand featured on this channel :)
Oh that’s nice and you can indeed be proud, what these guys have done is so interesting and different
That ending statement is something we can all agree on , viva creative watchmaking
That’s right and thanks 👍👍
Fantastic deconstruction.

Indeed a lot of engineering to achieve such a prowess!!
Gorgeous and as a diver, one of the most utilitarian.
Absolutely, but in that case they even have a better one 👍
I always thought they were special, has that great industrial design feel, reminds me of that great Braun watch
Totally see what you mean, loved my Braun alarm clock so much, the design was just so perfect and edgy yet simple!!
Thank you so much for the review, very engaging ... one day closer to my goal
And many thanks to you for this much appreciated comment! All the best

That is a really innovative and unique timepiece but I wonder if anyone other than the factory would service a watch like that.
Probably much wiser to do so 😉
Groovy idea with those magnets!
I thought they will interfere with hairspring?!
Could have been an issue but well taken care of 👍

This we do understand, but it's made in such small numbers that it's impossible to have much lower price unfortunately. Best to you
I miss these unboxing videos. It's been too long since you've had one of your many birthdays
Fully agree 😉👍
So cool.
Price of this watch?

I cant understand how you change settings ! Look like you just turn, and turn other way, it affect only what you want without confirmation !
Don't you think it would be better if the logo was in place of at 5 ? :)
Why not ;)
What's the price tag on this timepiece?
$40,000
