My guy allready knows we want a Zelda ocarina
Oh wow, nicely done! Also, had no idea that left-handed ocarinas existed! Oddly enough, even though even though I’m a southpaw for most things, playing ocarina isn’t one of them but it’s good to know that for those that are more comfortable with such a grip that some makers have gone the extra mile to make ocarinas in that way.
Also, that editing you did for when you had some bad takes was quite enjoyable as well!
Hahah thank you!! 🙏 yeah I really appreciate all makers that make Leftie ocs they’re quite rare!!
@@OcarinaOwl For sure! Again, I had no idea they existed until seeing this video!
Also, may I add to the Zelda replica category a surprisingly nice bass one? It's STL's bass ocarina with the triforce and just like the other plastic Zelda ones you showed, it has a nice sound and having the little triforce on there adds a nice touch!
Fantastic job, Nic. This will help a lot of people. Really enjoyed watching!
Thanks Em!! 😊
CORRECTION*
STL still sells their first edition of the Zelda replica as shown on this video. I recommend it as a Zelda replica.
Dude i just stumbled onto this video out of nowhere. I friggin love this dude and his energy. Keep it real brother.
I appreciate that 🙏
I liked and subscribed bro, you put an amazing and thoroughly informational video together! It's funny I ordered my first ocarina this week and I've already ordered two more and the first hasn't even arrived yet, the part in your video where you mention ones to grab because they aren't being made anymore I freaked out and went to look for a Johann rotter and then realized I was drunk buying last night and ordered one already 🤣, so I can check that off my list, whew close call, in about a week I'm going to order 4 Spencer ones, I think I've been bitten by the ocarina bug, but again thank you for such a thorough video I picked up many tips from you as myself being a total noob, I look forward to checking more of your videos out
Glad the video helped! Rotters and Spencer’s are definitely awesome ones to get right now
this video is so in-depth and helpful! i’ll start with the STL plastic one, ive never played an ocarina before but im very interested in learning to :D this video is very helpful and i love the toon link plush in the back, i have the same one and i sleep with it every night lol. also your hair is cool
Thank you! I’m grateful this video helped. If you have any questions feel free to write?
@@OcarinaOwl hm, the only question that pops into my mind now is where can I get the straps for an ocarina? i can’t seem to find them separately…
nice video lad!!!this is a great video an excelent guide for begginers
Thank you! I’m so glad it was helpful 😌

Thank you!!! 😁🖤
Thank you so much for this video! Great info! You are awesome!
You’re welcome! Glad it helped, feel free to comment with any questions or if you find one not on this list that I didn’t mention 🙂

Still watching the video, a lot of valuable information so I'm watching the whole video! Congrats on putting all this info together, it's greatly edited too!! 🎉💯💯💯 I'm sure it will help so many people! I think I definitely need a soprano C or G ocarina, I've been so enchanted by the sound of the higher pitched ocarinas
Thank you!!! 🥺🙏
This is super in-depth! I love it! 😎
Thank you for watching and thank you for your sound sample!!
The "yes it's spray painted, no don't do it." Had me crying 😂 12:42
That’s why I do it 🤣
STL sounded more airy to me than Night by Noble and songbird/focalink. I am leaning towards the night by noble because of the free shipping and I think it sounded most pleasing for me. I didn't know there were left handed ocarinas. I am pretty purely left handed but ocarina feels right with the standard right handed one (maybe it's because I've visualized using an ocarina that is for righties so much before getting my hands on one).
Amazing! Educational! Thank you!!
Thank you!!! 🥺🥺😄
Nice vid.
Thank you friend 😄
So are stl ocarinas bad? I heard they were good so I went for it but wanted to be sure and then I hear other websites have better ones. Did I make a bad purchase. I’m still only a beginner
I have an ocarina from Sakura waita and it has a beauteful sound
They are really great at priced well. What kind do you have?
I have a six hole ocarina, i love it! 😊, I would like to buy a ocarina from focalink and night by noble, they have a very sweet sound 😢❤️, but i from Peru and it'd be so expensive 😕🤷🏽
I understand, your Sakura Wayta one probably sounds great!
It sounds really beauteful and great 😊
Great!!
Thank you Leo!!!
What's the song you have in the background when you're talking, from 19:40 to 20:03 And then again when showing the other wood finished ocarinas at the end?
His theme - Undertale
@@OcarinaOwl thanks. I appreciate you taking your time to answer.
I’m glad I found this I want to learn the ocarina but I came across a video with someone showing how much the one I see online all the time sucked and got a bit scared. Also you kid if look like Cisco from the flash
Cisco from the Flash 🤣😭
I’m thinking about getting a pendant ocarina, specifically the $22 turtle from songbird. This would be my first EVER time trying an ocarina, what do y’all think?
Songbird is a great quality brand. I’ve never had a bad experience with their ocarinas. I like pendants too. The fingering system is a bit more complex than a 12 hole but with some practice on the scale (see my tutorials) you will probably have an easy time learning some music. That one also comes in two fingering styles, the more traditional diatonic style and the pentatonic style. Diatonic is if you want to play more traditional and classical pieces and pentatonic is if you want more of a meditative instrument where you will play improvised Melodies. It’s harder to read music with pentatonic ocarinas. But they are much easier to play, just more limited in range and notes. Hope this was helpful!
@@OcarinaOwl Thank you SO MUCH! You’ve helped me in making my descicion! Have a nice day!
The listing for the plastic focalink/songbird ocarina seems to have changed. Is it the bravura or Osawa on there?
I think it looks like the bravura but I wanted to make sure lol
Bravura but they play the same
@@OcarinaOwl thanks for such a quick response!
What song were u playing whilst u were testing the ocarinas?
Zelda’s lullaby, Pokémon center theme and swallowtail jig
@@OcarinaOwl thank you
so if i dont care whats the exact tunning is stl better? i checked and its cheaper but idk
STL works just fine as a starter ocarina and as a solid choice for a first ceramic! Happy ocarina hunting
i can spend about 70-80$ heck if I save up so I can spend up to 130. but my issue is I want something wood or plastic, looks pretty and sounds something like the rotter alto g. but all the ones I have found that are wood or plastic are just plain. all the ceramics are so pretty. but I don't want ceramics. got any suggestions? I've been looking and no luck.
Hey Zonta 👋
Any particular reason why you only want a wooden or plastic? I understand they are very durable and portable, but the ceramic Rotters definitely offer the sound you’re looking for.
Now most wooden ocarinas have a more textured sound. But I strongly recommend Charlie Hind’s Wooden Ocarinas OR the Korean maker Woodsound by Hyunil Ko.
For plastics, most of them are about the same, but I recently came across Odami plastics and I’m absolutely impressed by their sound. They sound amazing and are very affordable.
@@OcarinaOwl it is because I am wanting something portable. ill check out those ones you suggested. It's just if I get a ceramic. I'm afraid of dropping it. I am a bit clumsy. The ceramic ones are so pretty. I was looking into this plain wooden one. I will just decorate myself. I am currently looking for videos of wooden ones being played to see the sound of them. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
I have an ocarina and it’s in the correct pitch and everything, but the high notes are very loud. Does this mean it’s not the greatest or is it supposed to be like this? Someone please answer I’m sad
On every ocarina they low notes will naturally be softer and the high notes will be louder. It’s normal. What kind is it? Where did you buy it?
@@OcarinaOwl I didn’t research before i bought it. It was from Amazon, and from a brand called AKLOT. Ot says Smokey straw fired ceramic ocarina. It comes with a book, carrying bag, and booklet
That ocarina typically is a mixed bag. Sometimes the high notes are very hard to get to speak clearly on it without them sounding breathy.
@@OcarinaOwlThanks, I think I will buy another ocarina that’s better soon. Thanks for the guidance
Are there no Ocarina of Time replicas that can play above F6? I want to play Zelda's Lullaby, in G, with the high note.
EDIT: oh wait i can play it with that range, but i'd be using the lowest note.
i guess my question is are there no Ocarina of Time replicas that can play it an octave higher? lol
Double ocarina of time from Songbird can help with that.
If not you can use the extended technique to play high g
@@OcarinaOwl thanks! considering the double ocarina... what is "extended technique" though?
@@OcarinaOwl Is the double ocarina hard to play? It looks kinda complicated... to cover all those holes.. I am good at music and I like a challenge, but I hope my fingers can handle it!
The chamber switching is the hardest part of the double, it is more challenging than a 12 hole. I recommend starting with a 12 hole first
Seeing an ocarina I want in stl under 30: yay
Shipping is 35: fffff
Lol this comment made me smile 🤣🙂
*me just watching the whole video*
Hope it was helpful
To be oneste im happy i fond dis channal sorry for any tipos😅😅😅
Im glad my channel is helpful!!
Thanks for the comment
is the ocarina: Brio Soprano C Black" also good ? from song birds ocarina
I would recommend not starting with a soprano ocarina if it’s your first. I would recommend an Alto. But if you’re expanding your collection and you already own some then it’s a totally fine one. Use OCARINAOWL10
@@OcarinaOwl okay thank you!

@@OcarinaOwl deberias hacer gameplays de zelda 😁
Whelp, I bought the cheapo zelda Ocarina, long before I ever saw these videos, simply because it was . . . really cheap. Like 14 bucks with shipping.
Which should have been a warning. But again, CHEAP. So while it was probably a mistake to buy, all chock it up as a learning experience and figure, so long as it can play the notes, even poorly, it's enough to figure out if I'd even like the Ocarina. If I stick with it long enough to become annoyed by the poor instrument, it means I'm interested enough to buy something better.
Such is life XD
If you’re willing to add 11 more dollars an STL plastic alto C is a huge step up from that one.
STL calls them tenors but they’re really alto C’s
Español is better than English... 🥺
