You can see Claudia's ballet training preventing her from moving her hips too much out of line with her torso, which is what you really need for some of the moves. She was amazing however, getting them so quickly without the background training, so good!
I love Claudia's commitment to trying the moves...Like clearly she's uncomfortable moving her body that way, but she still jumps up and gives it her all. I also like that others pointed out her ballet training trumps her jazz training. You can tell it's hard for her to think of her hips as a hinging point the way you need to for these jazz tricks, because in ballet you don't ever really use your hips or pelvis in that manner.
YAS you Credited Dance Moms! It's SO TRUE THOUGH!! I was trying to talk to my Studio Owner about this in Alberta, and they refused to accept that Dance Moms HAS changed the landscape of Commercial Jazz!
@@amylizzie._it’s still commercialised though, nothing wrong with these movements but they’re not traditional like what claudia would’ve grown up doing.
Iset is such a strong and beautiful dancer! I always had a gymnast short stature. It was hard to prove I could do simple ballet growing up. So it means so much to see you feature different dancers talents. Just awesome❤
Looks such a laugh as all the best learning should. Always love watching Claudia, and when she introduces young dancers to introduce them to us, she always seems more than happy to show us what she has learned from them. I love that.
CD, you are a champ for attempting all of these moves. Your a great sport. I love that you laugh at your performance or lack there of.... so fun to watch
So relatable, it’s so hard how we have to push our hips off centre when our years and years of ballet training is pretty much stopping us from doing it! Btw, I love your content sooooo much and you’ve inspired me to come back to ballet after doing 9+ years of it. Last week I just got my pointe shoes! Your content is sooo helpful for strengthening my arch and helping me with perfecting my foutès and more! Love from a fellow Aussie 💕
This was SO FUN to watch! You are amazing! You both are! More of these please! All different types of dance? Hip hop, ballroom, tap, jazz, broadway, African dance, all the things. 🙏❤️
You are such an inspiration, I had a really emotionally abusive teacher last year and you helped me get through the year and tell the director so now she doesn't teach me anymore. So thank you so much
I tried some of these steps with my students this morning...some of them are insanely harder than they look!!! What the heck!! Our fave is the butterfly. Didn’t even attempt the breech jump ones....lol
The relationship between Claudia and Iset was great you could tell they got on and it wasn't the complete fake smile which you get a lot of one videos with claudia and a student
I loved this!! Not only was it entertaining and fun to get to see the student teach the teacher and kill it lol, it helped me learn some of these skills I wasn't too sure on how to do myself. I'm 33 years old and pretty much 90% of the skills done now I have no idea how to do and most of the time I just wing it or watch videos of girls doing their solos and put it in slow motion to figure out some of these moves so I can teach my girls at the studio, but this really helped me out!! Now I'll know how to teach these to my students without making them a Guinea pig!!! Lol It's tuff when you're older and trying to learn new styles and skills you were never trained in and be able to effectively teach it to your students. I'd love more videos like this to break down some of these commercial skills to people like me who are just winging it and praying you're teaching it correctly!!! Lol
my favorite moment is for the second trick when Claudia was listening to the sentence “push the hips to the roof” and she was mumbling something it is so funny 😆 I love you Claudia you are so so great and talented!
Iset seems so sweet!! And you’re right that she’s a really good teacher - she should definitely teach at a studio at some point if that’s what she wants 😊
I've just been watching a video by Cirque du Soleil (they're available free during the Covid-19 period) and guess what, since I watched Claudia's video here, I recognise the commercial dance that is going on!! I'm amazed and pretty chuffed. So thanks Claudia for your very varied and educational videos for non dancers like moi. :) So cool.
Watching Claudia do the headspring and kip-up thing the dance teacher in me just wanted to yell “PUSH WITH YOUR ARMS, ARCH YOUR BACK AND REALLY WHIP THOSE LEGS!!!!!” Although, I kind of guessed those would be fails 😂 it requires such different movement than ballet. But funnily enough those are the only skills out of those 10 that I’m good at
Hello!I think I know why rolls and the last thing didn’t turn out-You don't arch your back in this movements,-but it is so amazing that you did all rest so good and fast🌸
Brilliant !! I was actually expecting you to do better hahaha, but it's been so great to watch this because I just remembered my first ballet class, a year and a half ago, and that I was laughing just as much as you are, but I was obviously failing all of the exercises haha. Thank you for being such a great human being !! and doing this super entertaining challenge and in doing so reminding people that you too started at point zero, and weren't born the amazing dancer you are now. I know you're supposed to know this, but I feel like we easily forget that the only difference between us and "them" whoever they are is just a ton a practice and sure talent, but talent alone still doesn't help you skip that first class where EVERYTHING is just so unimaginably awkward ! :D ))
Would be so fun to see you try out figure skating! Can't you make a trying figure skating - video? 🙏🤩 You got the balance, coordination and flexibility 🙈
I had to do that third step in a dance once, the only problem was I was in a senior class and they never taught us how to do it because we we’re ‘seniors’ and we already knew it. Except I had never even seen it before and had only been dancing that style for like 4ish weeks. My knee died
the one where she stand on her head and jumps is areally hard one, a easier version is using your shoulders instead of the head, and you have to really push your legas and hips to jump
I'm OBSESSED with you, Claudia! I just stumbled across this video. Your energy is amazing! I admire your desire to continue learning and growing. I'm in the same boat as a Choreographer/dancer in my 30's and trying to keep up with the "youngins" and their tricks. Keep it up! I'll be watching! Lots of
that shoulder roll thing looks like a slightly more complicated version of something we used to do in winterguard. i don't remember exactly how to do it, but part of me thinks my body probably still remembers how to do it. another part of me is sitting there yelling that it's been nearly 10 years since the last time i did it so maybe don't lol. but seeing claudia try to do the one ending with a roll to the ground was wild because i think of that as relatively basic, but never thought about how *not* ballet it is, so someone who's only done ballet probably would have a more difficult time with it
You can see Claudia's ballet training preventing her from moving her hips too much out of line with her torso, which is what you really need for some of the moves. She was amazing however, getting them so quickly without the background training, so good!
Yeahhh, i experienced that too when i tried hiphop. It's hard for me to groove because i unconciously kept my body straight and square 😅
Also, not using the momentum her hands could give her
I love how as an adult dancer she’s open to trying and learning new steps still and she doesn’t stop until she gets it.
I am obsessed with claudia's turns. So damn pretty
you are too kind 💓💓
I love Claudia's commitment to trying the moves...Like clearly she's uncomfortable moving her body that way, but she still jumps up and gives it her all.

Claudia: "How many tries do I get?"
Iset: "3 tries"
*Claudia 14 tries later*
" DID I PASS?!"😂😂
HAHHAHAHA 😂😂
If you could practice a little you would pass all 😄👏
Get ready for all the bruised legs tomorrow (it always happens with new moves when going on the floor)
This video should be called "All tricks I ever wanted to learn in one video..."
Maybe it's a lot to ask but I would love to see Iset choreograph a little commercial/lyrical bit for Claudia to dance!! They are stunning
AzulM Done! Hehe miss Claudia??? 💕😘
Claudia: "Can you do it once more?" Iset: "Yep" [executes step perfectly Claudia: "Okay" [Flops onto the floor and almost breaks her back]
YAS you Credited Dance Moms! It's SO TRUE THOUGH!! I was trying to talk to my Studio Owner about this in Alberta, and they refused to accept that Dance Moms HAS changed the landscape of Commercial Jazz!
It definitely has. I have had my professional training from 2000- 2006. and jazz and contemporary were really different.
I rather like the new moves 🤸🤸
Jordan Sparks dance moms changed dance forever !
It’s not commercial it’s contemporary the title is wrong the description is right
@@amylizzie._it’s still commercialised though, nothing wrong with these movements but they’re not traditional like what claudia would’ve grown up doing.
I love it when you try new stuff. I started contemporary when I was nearly 40 and it nearly killed me learning to roll etc after 30 years of ballet 💕💕
You did so well. I really love, how you are the perfect "imperfect" dancer. Your channel is the best❤
Awwww you are too kind! Thank you so much 💓
Iset is such a strong and beautiful dancer! I always had a gymnast short stature. It was hard to prove I could do simple ballet growing up. So it means so much to see you feature different dancers talents. Just awesome❤
Katie Johnson 😭 thank you this means soo much! 💕💕💕
Iset S You are so welcome Iset! Hope to see you on stage one of these days. Keep at it girl! 🤗
@@isets7192 you are brillant. You will make it to the stage 😄
I love seeing the different muscle builds for different styles

You are such an inspiration, I had a really emotionally abusive teacher last year and you helped me get through the year and tell the director so now she doesn't teach me anymore. So thank you so much
Ballet For Life the same thing happened to me but my artistic director was my ballet teacher so I ended up quiting :'(
I tried some of these steps with my students this morning...some of them are insanely harder than they look!!! What the heck!! Our fave is the butterfly. Didn’t even attempt the breech jump ones....lol
watching her attempt the steps in such a balletic form is so amusing. youre so cute claudie
I just noticed that majority of the steps is used by the aldc
Claudia you need to do contemporary choreography! Youre so graceful!
Claudia’s Rite of Spring training is coming in handy! Also her turns ❤️
Iset is so graceful and fluid when she dances!!! She lands all those tricks so light too, which many dancers can't do :)
You made all the movements really elegant. Commercial is a different way of moving to ballet but you did really well. Well done!💜👏
The relationship between Claudia and Iset was great you could tell they got on and it wasn't the complete fake smile which you get a lot of one videos with claudia and a student

You actually did AMAZINGLY even though you haven't done most of these steps before 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I think you might fail... NONE OF THEM BECAUSE YOU'RE AMAZING!!!
(also, I had my first pointe class yesterday and I'm in love with it!)
Emily Eagle HAHAHA I LOVE YOU 😍😍😍😍😍
Congratulations on your first pointe class!!
wait for the BLOOOOOOOOOD. congrats though lol
Claudia is amazing!! You did so well for doing ballet training .
These are the steps in the serie "the next steps studio " !!!! Yeah !!!
Iset is such a pretty name!

hahahaha too good hey 😆😆💓
please, Claudia, try some Britney Spears 90's coreography! It will be fun, like the hip hop challenge
Would love to be that flexible! Well done Claudia!
Claudia did so well to pick these up that quickly. Not going to lie though, these are more contemporary steps rather than commercial.
Loved this! Do more videos like this with different dance styles :D
Totally bypassing the 3 try rule... 😂😂😂 Sneaky!
❤️ especially 6/7. Iset was a 👍 teacher. Contemporary is definitely hard.
omg claudia you did amazing!! i’m obsessed with your videos!
Claudia's look at 4:30 is so relatable 😅
Iset seems so sweet!! And you’re right that she’s a really good teacher - she should definitely teach at a studio at some point if that’s what she wants 😊
I love watching you attempt to do #3

Claudia's face at 4:33 is me when the teacher shows a hard combo 😂
I want to do this step omg you're awesome 🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🧘
So much fun Thank You!!!! I hope your safe with all that’s going on down there.
We did c-stands up in drill team out here in Texas
Not gunna lie I was kinda hoping you wouldn't pass just to see the tutu tik tok :P
Yes, a pity about that but you did really well 😄

Same tho
Love this video! And your new intro is so cool 💓
Lots of love Saffron 💓💓💓
Hey Claudia what are the names of the steps that you did in this video? I love these videos you should do more of them!
I love your new intros and well done on this!🎉
Hello!I think I know why rolls and the last thing didn’t turn out-You don't arch your back in this movements,-but it is so amazing that you did all rest so good and fast🌸
i wish you had tried the arms ascending during the skater turn but it’s so claudia style to snap the arms quick into position haha
In videos like these u can really see that ballet is the core of all dance styles
I love that she's a full-sized, normal-looking dancer! Not the teacher, but the featured dancer. I'm not sure what to call her.
C. What is “full-sized”? Haha.
Natalia RC I think she means not as thin as the average ballet dancer.
Hannah E. K. Sounds weird though. Maybe it’s me, but I don’t like commenting on people’s bodies.
I loved this video Claudia; great to see you trying new styles ❤️🌈❤️
WOW THAT WAS STUNNING!
The first time I did a toe rise I fell over. Claudia tries it for the first time and pretty much nails it.
GO CLAUDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Does it perfectly*
“Is that a pass?” 🤪
I wanna try this at home, if I have space. It looks awesome.

OKAY so I paused it and tried all of these in my apartment LOL. Definitely had the same time doing the knee drop LOL
DANCE IT OUT CLAUDIA!
Iset explained knee drops better than the teacher I had, really wish I had seen this video before nearly shattering my kneecaps :/
I lovve, love these moves!!! Can you tell me their names? Thank you, Claudia!
LOVE THIS CLAUDIA! 🤩🤩❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I find that Iset looks a little bit like Elle Fanning, she has the same smile !
For the first one if you put more weight into the arm onto the ground it will help you get your legs up so you can straighten your bottom leg
I was terrified the whole time that CD was going to hurt herself!!
7:33 she went ALL in on that
❤️❤️❤️❤️
does anyone know the names of these dance moves/steps?
Hahaha least graceful ballerina when you land these moves hahah I love it 😂
6:53 gotta watch out for those snipers 😂
DO A PART 2!!!!!
For step 3, try and put your hands down just before your knee as this will cushion the impact
Loving it 😊😊
