@@its_james_fitness for sure! If I could go back to my late teens when i started working out to lose weight I would of focused more on gaining strength then loosing weight.
Dude I've been stuck not being able to go above 225 for awhile on my bench I watched your video put more effort into focusing on my set up and I was able to press 265×3 which in August I had maxed out at 260
@@austinschiefelbein1099 ohh yeah you cant keep benching if you are injured, i suggest you do more arm shoulder and chest exercises to build a good structure first, of course keep benching but try not to go for maxes, and treat your injuries, do a good warm up and always stretch at the end
I train more in the realm of bodybuilding and these videos are incredibly helpful in order to maximise my effort and stay conscious of the oppositional force. Thanks very much!
Does benching with your shoulders back and down increase strength in the long run? I'm doing it and I'm much weaker but I'm getting stronger with it. Will I eventually be stronger with this technique?
These videos are great. More with Tim trying to deadlift please. I like watching my boy Tim look like a squirrel trying to f*ck a football 😁😂 I kid I kid.
In one video he explained that when he is saying reach he is wanting the kid to stick his chest out, tighten up his scapulas... reach the chest to the bar. The kid doesn’t do it very well but that’s how I am understanding it.
This is a floor press. The elbows hit the pads and limit the ROM. A spoto press is a paused bench just above the chest (not touching) and then you fire out of the hole.
Floor press is normally done...on the floor...but this bench allows your elbows to hit the pads to limit your ROM like a floor press would but you can set up like you would on a normal bench which has a lot of benefits.
I think this bench press technique minutiae gets overblown sometimes. I just try to get really tight, retract my scapula and use a bit of leg drive and leave it at that. I find if I think too much about everything while I'm lifting it screws up my technique
Dude, I wish I could go back in time to when I was Tragens age. The knowledge he’s getting right now is invaluable. Great video.
When you were his age, was it the age of bro splits and chicken/broccoli/rice?

Agree

How
Swede Burns gives off such a chill vibe, great coach
I implemented the setup from the last two video and added 20lbs on my bench the first session. Thanks so much
Same here won what will be last raw bench contest an put on about 15 on my bench
That martial arts like precision in the details of the movement...I love that
Are we gonna get a squat video from swede!? Hope so!

i think getting stuck at 225 is more about your programming than technique, technique perfection helps a lot in (relatively) heavy weights,
@@daniel1RM Its also been a ton of injuries unfortunately. My shoulder and elbow doesn't like me.

I implemented some of the stuff from the setup video and hit a PR, but my mid back is so sore lol. I haven't had doms like this in so long, feels good
Props to this guy for sleeping in his car then training.
Amazing series, keep them coming, they've helped me so much with my bench
Looks like I have something to add to my training to reach that 405 bench!
Let's get it

I really like his explanation, helps a lot for someone who’s never been shown properly how to bench.
I like that more than a floor press it takes my big ass 5 minutes to get up from the ground after a set 😂
Just enough time to lay back down again then
Who says you have to get back up May as well just stay on the floor
Why do you think Dave created it lol!
walk the scaps and reach has been very helpful. thank you
Makes me really want to buy the book
That was a great video and great explanation... wish I had the benefit of his experience when I was younger!
Dude nice man more good shit from Swede!!👍👌👏💪😎
That kid looks like a young Akuma! 👊
Cues noted! Thanks benchpress god 😎
Liked the video 0:07 in. This is amazing content
I wish I had a gym like this Tate!!
When are you going to sell Elite FTS bumpers like that?
what does he mean when he says reach ??
Does benching with your shoulders back and down increase strength in the long run? I'm doing it and I'm much weaker but I'm getting stronger with it. Will I eventually be stronger with this technique?
Yes because it’s more efficient to move more weight
That hat is at the jauntiest angle I've ever seen

Can anyone tell me what the “reach” cue is please ?
I think it’s like bring your chest toward the bar and not bringing the bar to your chest
First 🥳🥳🥳 *%10 STRENGTH ADDED TO BENCH PR*
What exactly does reach mean?

So what's the difference between this lift and an actual bench? Is it like a Spoto press with an isometric hold in arching the back?
Big fan of Swede but isn’t this just a Spoto press?
