I went and got a bunch of p30 curve AS3pros. I completely agree with the accuracy issue but found it was more due to how it loads coming from using low kick sticks. Personally love the blade always know where the puck is and ive not felt it open up yet. Like you said the puck comes off the stick harder than anything ive used before, even my ultrasonic. Things a beast from the point.
Sticks are so individual. I just grabbed an AS3 Pro for 160. It is definitely a rocket launcher! Interestingly unlike others commenting...I can hit spots with my eyes closed with this thing. It's crazy! I'm coming from AS2 Pro that I also love. I think the balance on the Tacks line is phenomenal. Also using an FT3 Pro. I like that too, but I'm definitely a Tacks guy. I just can't get into the feel of the Bauers. Glad we have so many choices! I'm college I used Koho 221 Custom Pros...that was 79-82!
I just bought a couple AS4 Pro’s, but I haven’t received them yet, so I’m interested in how they feel. They’re pro stock, so there’s not really a way to know exactly what went into these particular sticks, since players can mix and match just about whatever specs and attributes they want when it comes to sticks, but I hope they at least have thicker grip than what you mentioned in this video.
What would you prefer between the geo and the as3 pro because I have a teammate who uses the geo and he has so much control while splitting the defense and I've used the as2 but I got caught in a door and broke so I didn't get a feel for it but I have one of there other super takcis and the blade is more stiff and the puck can bounce off sometimes while trying to get through the defenders I was just wondering what stick you prefer put of both of them
I prefer Bauer sticks because of the softer blade, specifically the Ultrasonic and the Geo. But it is all personal preference, some people love stiff blades and want to stick with that.
hello, forgive me this long message and this English "google translation" (I am French), I am 44 years old, I measure 5.6 and weigh 136.6. I know how to skate but have never played hockey. However, this year, I decided to give it a go! I have the opportunity to buy a used stick, either the jetspeed ft3 pro (75 flex, PM90) or the AS3 pro? Would you have any advice? I seek above all lightness, maneuverability, as for my style of play I can not say having never played! Thank you very much and congratulations for your videos.
Honestly, if you are just starting I don't think getting a top end stick is really worth it unless it is RIDICULOUSLY cheap. Just get something that isn't expensive and work on your technique. Once you get a constant shot down then look for something more expensive. I think Jetspeed is a very good stick that is solid at everything and would be a good starting point in dialing in what you really like
@@HockeyReviews thank you for your valuable response! Yes, don't worry! the price I was offered is ridiculous! Never, me beginner, I would have the audacity to buy a material of which I would be unable to draw the quintessence. Ok, I go on the jetspeed. Thank you for your frank advice, and for your superb videos!
Tried the as3 pro and it was definitely good, probably the hardest shooting stick, but I preferred the geo and t5 way more, coming from a super tacks user it’s kinda shocking. Although the T5 and maybe the geo fell below in terms of power, accuracy is the most important thing to me, and these things were lasers in terms of accuracy and power mix. Never going with a super tacks again unless they fix the pinginess, one timers are extremely hard and sometimes the puck just hops over your stick like your digging under it (AS1 user). Also how do Geo slap shots feel compared to ultrasonic slap shots?
Geo is under Ultrasonic for slap shots. Ultra and AS3 Pro is basically on a bar above everything else. I don't think there is anything to fix with the AS3 Pros blade though... they want it to be pingy and stiff and to me it makes sense offering something that is the opposite of what their competition does. If you want a softer blade for FT3 Pro for the CCM lineup.
@@HockeyReviews yeah I’m aware of what CCM is doing, I think it’s interesting and definitely has some points people will like, but I just grew to not like it. I tried the ft3 pro and I definitely like it but it just wasn’t as good as the t5 and geo. I don’t take many slap shots but I want to be able to take one timers if I have too, I was just curious to see how the geo pairs up to other sticks in terms of clappers.
I shot hardest with this stick than any other. But it depends on how you shoot. Generally speaking Tacks is aimed for harder shots and less of a quick release.
I do. I have both and an Ultrasonic and Geo. I prefer dampened feeling blades for the most part, but I sold the Geo and Ultrasonic. The Ultrasonic does have a great shot...IF you can figure out how to shoot it consistently. I couldn’t. Had issues with the blade opening a little, but it wasn’t bad. It felt heavier than 390grams. The Geo was more well rounded than the Ultrasonic, but the blade really opened up too much. I feel like people give the Geo too much hype; I actually preferred the 2N Pro a little more. I then put the True Project X up against the Trigger 5 Pro. The True definitely passes better, but the Trigger’s shot is bonkers. That’s the stick of the year in my opinion. The AS3 Pro gives me something the Trigger doesn’t and that’s a bomb of a slapper and one timer. This guy is right about the pingy blade. If you’re not careful pucks could bounce off your blade. And something people don’t talk about is that the AS3 pro is now a mid kick and the AS2 Pro was a high kick. I think the AS3 is more well rounded than the high kick of the AS2. The bottom line is that Bauer has failed me in 2020 and the Trigger and AS3 Pro will cover any player’s needs. Stay away from the FT3 Pro. Too many production and breakages issues. Ever wonder why they were only recently released, but the FT4 Pro is due out April 2021?
@@mongillohockey CCM's stick launches are once a year. So while you think the FT4 Pro is due out April because of issues... the Trigger 6 Pro and AS4 Pro should be out a year after the release of the previous ones. Only reason you are seeing FT4 Pro stuff is because the FT3 Pro came out end of June, which is when the FT4 Pro stick is out. FT4 protective is out in May and not April. AS3 Pro is a mid kick, just like the AS2 was a mid kick, it has always been a mid and hasn't changed.
I have a question, you say that your accuracy on the ice isn’t good, is it in a improvement, or a downgrade from the as2 pro? Like is the accuracy the same on the as2 pro?
I was specifically comparing it to the FT3 Pro, Trigger 4 Pro, Geo and Ultrasonic. I didn't have an AS2 Pro to take on the ice to compare them side by side sorry.
It honestly makes sense. The high mid-kick sticks (Supreme, SuperTacks) require more effort in loading the shots and other sticks feel easier to get off. Technique plays a big factor too. Lower kicks allow you to basically do less (read no transfer your weight) and the sticks still feel like they shoot well.
idk for me i have a super tacks and the load felt great but that’s when they also had a little more dampening in the blade... now with how pingy it is and stuff i think it just makes it harder and is purely a shooters stick ... also for how light it is. I have a ft3 and i hate how the shaft vibrates when taking a clapper or one timer like this. I’m sure it’s not as bad but that’s why i like my flylite.. even for one timers . the dampening would help for this stick in my opinion
just an FYI you labeled the CCM AS2 pro as being 319 grams
Dammit 🤦♂️ thanks for the correction

Is that for wrist shots ?

Nice vid, I was waiting for this 👍
I am a loyal long time user of CCM sticks, would like to try Bauer sticks but they’re too short non-extended which I why I prefer ccm
definitely try a review on the new STX halo coming in January!

Usually the pro stock stuff has better grip, they don't need to hit marketing targets for their sticks.
@@HockeyReviews they might even have some texture too 🤞

Great review as always. Quick question: You said wrist and snap shots were much better than with the AS1 and 2s pro. How do they compare to the AS2?
I never had an AS2 when I filmed this and since I had this stick, so I wasn't able to do a direct comparison sorry.
What tape or sleeve do you use for you're sticks.. Colors are very bright 👌
Pride Tape

Super tacks 4 pro or trigger 6 pro ??
If you take a lot of slap shots or really like a pingy blade. Go Tacks, otherwise go Trigger

At your local retailer.
this or the ft3 pro?
Totally personal preference. If you want a pingier blade and care about more powerful shots this one is probably better.
