    Uppu seedai recipe
    Salted seedai recipe
    Ingredients
    1) Prepared rice flour - 1cup
    2) Roasted urad dal powder - 1½ tsp
    3) Coconut shredded - 2 tsp
    4) White sesame seeds - 1 tsp
    5) Cumin /Jeeragam - 1 tsp
    6) unsalted butter - 2tbsp
    7) Salt and hing as per requirement
    8) Water nearly ¼-½ of a cup is required
    9) Coconut oil to fry
    Method:
    1) Take 1 cup of the prepared rice flour and mix urad dal powder and required salt and hing. Then add the sesame seeds, jeera, butter and required water to make a stiff dough.
    2) Then add 2 tbsp of hot oil and knead the dough.
    3) Roll the dough into small balls and fry it and serve it hot...
    Notes.
    1) The flame must be kept low while putting the balls and it should be kept medium while frying and it should be changed accordingly.
    2) The dough should be stiff. If it becomes loose wrap it with a dry cotton cloth.
    3) The dough should not rest for a longer period of time then will become dry and you will not be able to get the desired taste.

    Today its our first janmashtami with our child..for the first time i tried uppu seedai and vella seedai..it came out excellent..i felt as like my grandma explaining..i followed completely as per ur procedure.patty explained it so clearly..and ur communication was also very nice vignesh..all the best...really thanks a lot..

    Paati ungal anubavam + thiramai + porumai anaithum super. Namaskaram. But kooda kelvi ketkum pethiyo/ perano adhikapadi. Seedai arumai. Shisyan sariya vegalai. Pls take care. Nameaakaram.

    Hi Vignesh, in Mumbai we don’t get varutha maavu or wet ground rice podi. Can i use normal store bought rice powder? Thanks

      What you do is Soak rice and dry it and grind the wet flour and sieve the flour and then add roast it and use it. Please do this for best results.

    Mami uppu cheedai romba nalla vandudu. Romba crisp aga vandudu. But sweet cheedai hard aga poiduthu. I added uluntham maavu adanalaya theriyala. Sollungo what went wrong in sweet cheedai. Sweet konjam kammiya irundudu. Half a cup sweetness porala.

      Sweet seedai la ulutham maavu 1/2 tsp mela add pannina romba hard ayidum.
      2 nd point ennanna ,ghee add pananum.sutta oil poda padadhu.
      If you follow this, it will not get hard.
      Vellam 1/2 cupku mella potta Alarndhu poyidum.

    Pati, how to avoid seedai bomb blast? Last year uppu seedai blasted in the oil. The kitchen was a complete mess. Where did I go wrong?

      Sudha Rajesh nega senja maviu wet ah irruthu irrukum so athu blast agiruku. Nega this time use panupothu maviu oru news paper la round ah small shape pani one hr fan la vaiga then after oil la poduga

      Compulsory it should be wet rice flour to be Roasted.

    1 cup means, alavu yenna? Because, like in gms, or cup means, what size? Any standard size? Or, 1cup la yevalvu table spoon maavu varum nu solla mudiyuma, uddesama?
