Just started mountain biking 2 months ago and your vids have been very helpful especially coming from socal. now I have 2 full suspension bikes. thanks, got me hooked :)
Brookdale Lodge is haunted af = those goose bumps. My family built the cabin just up creek and as a kid i would spend my summers there. Hells Angles used the lodge as headquarters at one time. When my mom was a wee girl her and cousins would pour dish soap in the creek making a bubbly experience for lodge goers. It was hard to see it in disrepair for so long. so glad its up and goin again. Flow is best on a hard tail in the spring hero dirt even tho ridge hurts with that set up its so worth it. Nice vid
Seeing that gorgeous scenery and shade is so needed right now when it’s SoCal heat! Great job making us feel like we’re along for the ride, although I do feel cheated on the appreciation station. Is there a manager I can talk to?
Oh man that looks like fun! Rode there yesterday for the first time. I did the big loop coming around ridge then Braille first, back up and to Flow. Braille was awesome! Flow was fun but by the look of sawpit I’d rather do that and Braille together. Great videos man keep it up! 👍
Awesome trail and video. Definately gonna have to hit Sawpit next time I go to Demo. When you’re up here again, you should also hit up some of the skateparks and show everyone what you got. Haha!!
Wow! You sir have really lucked out on your timing! All the fires up here have ravaged air quality (forget how hot it is still up here at 7 pm). When I say ravaged, I mean its so obliterated that I'm ordering Lifestraws and packing bug-out bags. Been trying to get a ride in and its so smokey it would be seriously difficult and unwise. Your timing could not have been better.
My 2 cents, well maybe 1 cent. If you traveled more your channel would blow up. You are right there with the bigger channels in terms of putting out great content and you are a good guy. Good Luck
Thanks man - been working on it but this year's been tough for traveling. More coming and thanks for the encouragement. Channel's picked up in the last months a LOT, so let's do this. 👊
Great demo footage .Good job with the promotion of the Brookdale lodge. Back in the 80s when Brookdale was closed we would skateboard the indoor swimming pool with our own floodlights. Don’t know that the place is haunted definitely spooky.
Cool man you been riding at my favorite place again. Now I need to go ride saw pit again. Did they reroute around the little hill climb at the end of ridge trail?
Yes they do it seems go around that climb. Was my first time here but went right at the fork for it. But there is a climb for sure. Not sure if we are talking about the same spot.
New to the channel, new fan! Love the vids and commentary man. Was there a noticeable difference from the 🟦 of Sawpit and the black diamond of Ridge? Sawpit almost seemed more gnarly from the vid, but I get the GoPro effect. SC is next on my list for a MTB trip. Cant believe nobody else around in your vid. Not busy? Any truth to the rumors that you can find shuttles to the top to avoid the climbs?
Hey Chad - welcome! Ridge was black diamond I think because of the two steep sections I came across. I'd say Sawpit was a hard blue in spots, but not any crazy features. I went during the week so it wasn;t busy, but weekends I know can be. Thanks!
@@TheOutsiderMTB Thank you sir! My YT Jeffsy comes in 9/9 and I'll be hitting all of the LA/OC trails - little paranoid about mountain lions because I'll be riding solo most of the time and a somewhat beginner.
Nothing better than finishing the day with a tri tip sandwich at the Summit store afterwards!
I went there after! So good!

Glad to help! That's great!
Sick that they got that trail back open. Very nice job on riding and making a video of this trail.
Glad you liked it! Thanks bud!

Thanks for sharing! Yeah I fell in love with the place.
My favorite trail at Demo by far. Great job
Awesome, thank you!
Love your Santa Cruz rides!!

Thanks! Also, Pip is busy at the moment...
i love this trail! its such a pleasure to ride
It really is!
Thanks for the sneak peek!
You bet!
Just did Flow and Braille yesterday in my last day of my summer before coming back to SoCal. So glad I was able to ride these trails! Great vid man!
Great to hear!

Taking a santa cruz trip in September super excited!
Hope you enjoy it!

How u export your Go pro shot? Looks great dsnt have Pixilated
4k always - thanks!
Such a nice trail!!
Beautiful trail. Good call on not hitting sketchy consequential features solo. No shame in being smart and calculated.
Appreciate that thanks Ryan!
Amazingly beautiful, thank you for this 😁🤙
My pleasure 😊

Sounds good! Haha
Awesome man!! But Suffer Springs, twice in one day, geez thats rough.
Thanks! Haha I was hurtin'!

I hear you I’ve been keeping track. It’s just awful.

Yes
!!!
Nice work man. Count me as a new-ish fan of the channel.
Welcome aboard!
That lodge is reportedly the most haunted place in the US! Give us a story on that.
Ha I was given a tour and walked through the little girls room. Was amazing in there.
yep

Awesome haha
Great video Tony!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Grate vid!!
👊✔️
Nice ride bro
Thanks ✌️
Your Santa Cruz videos are making it really tempting to make the trip up there with my bike hahah Ive been there but I was on foot sadly :(
Go for it!
With the fires, what's the current status of the trails and the Lodge?
Things are closed right now but check in with @mountainbikersofsantacruz on insta.
You should invest in a pole for your cam to also face you or your suspension an go in an out of frame
Fun fact: a little girl once fell off the bridge that goes over the creek in the brook dale lodge, got a concussion, and drowned in the creek
I walked through her room. It's tiny. I also was shown how she fell in. Spooky stuff!
That’s not really fun.
Hmm 🤔 I believe I just saw the outsider on my ride lol
New to your channel love the content!!! 💯👊🏼

not really

The first bit of Sawpit before the climb is straight 🔥 but after the little punchy climb it kinda lost my interest, you feel the same way?
Eh kinda but I’ve only ridden it twice so I enjoyed it.

@@TheOutsiderMTB what about shuttles? Is it a thing in SC?
Check with epicenter cycling but with covid i think it’s off right now.
what editing software do you use? I started using Davinci Resolve today
I'm learning Premiere.
Man I was trying to go out there to ride flow, but it's a bit unfortunate with this heat wave since those climbs are rough
I was lucky to get this trip in the week before.
Great video bud, did you see anyone else out their riding?
Yes I did - it's so vast out there though it is really hit or miss.
Love the video! Have you ever seen any scary wildlife on any rides (specifically in So Cal) - mountain lions, bears, etc?
Thanks! Lots of rattlesnakes and some bobcats.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Thank you sir! My YT Jeffsy comes in 9/9 and I'll be hitting all of the LA/OC trails - little paranoid about mountain lions because I'll be riding solo most of the time and a somewhat beginner.
Don’t worry bud.
Whiting ranch in oc has had some issues with mountain lions.
I once had a mountain lion stare down my car as I was driving out of the Demo forest where this was filmed. Things was twice my size
I rode flow today, bummed i missed you
This was a couple weeks back - hope it was fun!
When you ride your bike does your thing ever get caught on a thing?
Lately it’s been more of me missing the things than getting caught in the things. Don’t even get me started in the thangs.
You have to deal with thangs? That sucks. I mainly have thingamobogs.
Damn. I feel that. I’m sorry man.
I’m going to redwood parks. I may have to deal with thingamajigs. Do you have any advice on getting through those?
Stand strong. Or don’t. Them thangs come and go. Bring windex though fo sho.
When you get the chance you should go ride NASCAR at Ranch La Costa Preserve.
The "thingy" looked more like a "thinga-ma-bob." Just sayin'.
Let's go with thinga ma bob then. That works better.
Do a kickflip!!!
😉
Not emtb friendly 😞
