Thanks for doing this test I dislike the mouth feel of cornstarch in gravy's, so will be making the sweet rice recipe for thanksgiving.

Thank you for your testing, it is much appreciated. Have you tried potato flour/starch? Just wondering if it turns out the same as the cornstarch? Either way I will try my all purpose gluten free flour or pick up some sweet rice flour! Again thank you so much 😊

No, I haven't tried potato starch, but I do think the taste would be pretty good, though! I will try this next time. Good thing I'm making gravy again soon!

I'm sorry to comment, but I have made cornstarch gravy for decades. You need to change your technique.

No apologies! I welcome all comments. To be honest, I used to use it a lot too. When doing the side by side, and especially with something like a dripping gravy, you can taste and see a difference with it. I still use it quite a bit to thicken sauces!

I have as well. I have never gotten a cornstarch flavor profile in my gravy. I have tried making a gluten free flour gravy and it was disgusting. I have not tried a sweet rice flour gravy.
