Tucking the hips in improves hip flexibility, supports the lower back, and tightens the abs. This is traditional Yang style Tai Chi. Very similar to Chen Man Ching's Yang Tai Chi! Thanks for watching!
The hips should be tucked in enough to line up the spine. Not rollled! It should be the same position as a professional golfer, baseball player (batter), etc. at the address position! Kinetic chain. Not curved under. So, I agree with you!
Not true. You can argue that "tuck" is a poor choice of words but the Taiji classics are very explicit about not sticking your ass out. The precise phrase is "keep the tailbone centered". Most people tend to stick their but out when they sit down in a stance so the correction is to bring it forward, hence, "tuck in the tailbone". So technically, it doesn't say to tuck in, but that's the correction most people need to find "centered".
Oh dear, that is by far the worst interpretation I've seen yet. Any exercise is better than no exercise but that has very little to do with Yang style Tai Chi .

Question: I thought you wanted your abs relaxed? The only thing not relaxed would be your thighs. I'm not a Taichi person, so I don't know.
