Every year more and more people assume the role of bishop without having proper understanding of the term and function; and as a result, misconceptions and questionable ordination practices have surfaced within the church.
In this lesson, Samuel Genus will explain what a bishop is as well as the biblical qualifications required to hold such an office within the church.

Praise the Lord for this teaching..... My husband Bishop Clark is a Bishop appointed and anointed by God....
He fits every qualifications and was brought to his knees on more than one occasion by the Lord because he didn't want to be an elder in the church here in San Antonio but in obedience and because the Lord would not allow him to grow in any other way until he walked in His way, he moved into this leadership position as overseer...
The Lord gave him the title of Bishop but he has encountered so much discourse from so many Pastors who believe the Bishop title is over them, more anointed then them and so forth, holding a sad jealousy toward him thinking he wants to take control of their churches... NOT AT ALL... We would prefer not to head a particular church at all but that's not Gods way is it?
His greatest desire is to bring the truth of the Word to the part of town he was raised on where he left for lack of spiritual food 20 years ago with the promise to God that he would return one day and rightly divide the Word of Truth...
It had come to a place were the Bishop was questioning himself as to did he really hear from the Lord, was he actually anointed?
Yes, I have seen him change since the Lord did a work in his heart over the last 25 years... We sat under a powerful spiritual leader for those 20 years and our hearts minds and spiritual eyes have been opened for His the people in ways it would have never have been without the anointing.
Still, some knot headed misinformed men of God and lay persons had begun asking him, by what authority are you our bishop, we didn't anoint you?....
I am so very grateful that the Lord put it on my heart to look up the meaning of the Word Bishop again and He directed me to this lesson on the very subject being called to question, now I can show this lesson to the Bishop because although he knows the truth, he has been swimming among the crawdads who constantly questioned his education & calling to be Bishop, nipping at his confidence, not knowing the truth of the Word and I believe he had began to doubt himself for the lack of fellowship among some of the brothers....

There is a whole lot more to know about the office of the bishop that was not mentioned in this video. But however a heavy Foundation has been laid through this message. Biblical scriptures were used to back this up. Much of the church is under educated and because of that they are easily fooled. Thank God for this word of Truth. May God continue uses man to reveal more of this secret office.

according to the book of acts chapter one a apostle can be a bishop to and also a prophet can be a bishop to.a bishop is a elder,guardian,shephard,or supervisor.

I know this is old but, a bishop o r pastor or apostle are synonymous. The title of bishop is man/ European made. There is a 5 fold ministry and nothing but God is above an apostle. It pains me to see people of God desiring to have a man made title for which they're not called and can't accept the duties of a pastor. So sad.
What bible chapter and verse do you have that states a Bishop is a man made title/office.
Isn't the bible divinely inspired by God?

These are administrative positions in the church. The calling is to preach/disciple. Elders, Pastors, and Bishops are administrative biblical man made positions to govern the church. Our calling only is to be disciples. God never calls a Bishop, it’s only a desire...

This is a great clear message . I do understand now. But I'm still not fully understand this. Can a bishop also be a prophet and a first Lady be a prophitist when she's married to the prophet? I see as lot of churches like this and I'm confused. I just need a clear understanding of this to rest my understanding.
