I just did this job today . Mine same car. 2007 caliber. I did not remove anything . i jacked it up high, and laying on the ground, you can reach up [ on the right side of the filter ] and get one hand on it to unplug, then place the specialty socket on it. Then the tricky part is using a swivel , and extension, get your ratchet in a very awkward position, [ close to the cooler line, and the electric fan shroud ] and it will work. or perhaps a wrench on the specialty socket. But mine came out . it was a bit harder to get the new one started on the threads , but again, with patience and a steady hand, i got a couple turns on it, then socket back on , and carefully snugged it up. It is imperative to not over counter those swivels as it just twists the socket sidways and you can break the sensor. That was the biggest issue. its very close to that angle . about 30 mins total. And a few choice words... But , i managed to do it without pulling anything off.
Got a 2010 Caliber Uptown. Have the oil chime light going off repeatedly after about 14 minutes of driving. About to change my sensor out here during the upcoming weekend. I’ve already changed my alternator about 6 months ago so I know already it’s going to suck. Thank you for sharing this video. It does help.
@@nateg4153 yes it did. BTW the special socket that is supposed to be used for the sensor didn’t fit in space it was located. I ended up using a pair of channel locks instead. Problem did go away after replacing it though. Thanks
@@jasonjaeger4860 I have a feeling this is going to be my issue with my caliber. After about 15minutes of driving.. DING! Oil pressure light comes on whenever I'm at idle. Give the car any sort of gas, light goes off. I'll be trying this very soon. Glad it worked for you!

What where the symptoms your car did to lead you to replacing your sensor... My car is having the oil light flicker and come on after it has been driven for about 10 miles.
I'm having the same issue. Oil light goes on and off even tho oil level and oil pressure is fine, but it'll beep constantly after about 10-15 minutes of driving
That was what mine was doing for a few months even after regular oil changes. I would suggest that it's probably starting to go bad and due for a change.

Did yours ever have a problem like the engine shutting down but the car was still on when ever you came to a complete stop at a red light or stop sign?
Hi i have a 2007 dodge caliber. And it wont go past 30 miles i went to a shop and they said is the transmision i dont belive it the car drive but it wont go past 30 miles.pleasse some one help.
I have the same problem with my 2007 Crapiber. I drive about 30 miles or so and the engine starts whining and I have to pull over and let it cool down. Not sure if you have had the CVT fluid changed? Had fluid changed at Valvoline, Dodge told me if they used the wrong fluid they car would only go so far before overheating. But I haven’t taken it to the dealership because they want about $400 to suck the fluid out and put new fluid in. Hate to spend that much money on a car that’s not worth it, just to find out changing the fluid doesn’t work. There is a reason they quit using these transmissions, they are JUNK!
you can change the transmission cvt+4 oil yourself. I did mine, check to how much CVT+4 fluid you have or measure the amount you take out. I lowered the transmission pan to allow the oil to drain out the took the transmission pan off, checked for any metal shavings (none), oil was a little dark, changed the strainer in the transmission pan (my old transmission strainer still looked new) changed the transmission cooler filter on the outside infront of the transmission under the battery. Not hard if you have the time and or a lift. Now to do the rack & pinion & the front k-frame. I'll do it myself, Mr. Tire mechanic tore up my car Brookes the coolant hose spark plug connectors and glued them back on and told me that Howard I brought it in. THE SILICONE WAS STILL WERE AND I TALKED TO & SAW THE MECHANIC BEFORE I WENT TO RETRIEVE MY CAR. YES YOU WERE BEING WATCHED. "Oh this was your car?" They even mess up tires.
This is totally ridiculous. You are taking parts off the car that don't need taking off. LMAO. The switch is near the darn oil filter. Take off the old one put on the new one and check if the connecter needs to be replaced. This is such a waste of a video. Sorry.
explain that to me. how do I take off the sensor? Also my car leaks oil I think that is the reason the oil lihgt comes one everytime I press the gas. do you think if I replace the sensor is still going to make that noise?
LOL~ I noticed you gave me a thumbs down. Well,I lived with this caliber for 4 years. It was the biggest piece of shit I ever owned. There were so many weird problems that I basically wrote a synopsis on it. I traded it in on Oct 2019. I am 100% sure it landed in a junkyard somewhere. I bought a new car and have never been happier.Guys don't get stuck with a Caliber. It will basically ruin your life. 3 dead batteries, electrical system blown, driver window fell down into the crack, sensors all fucked up, shifter broke, thermostat dead, rear wiper system died,Front end was annihilated(possibly due to the horrendous number of speed bumps daily.....It got towed from my house with a dead alternator. Good riddance to crap.

Great video. It was very helpful. My recommendation is to remove the Swear Jar from your garage, but it's doable if you're patient.
Very helpful mate! Cheers!

Does the red tab need to be completely off the green piece or just out a little bit? My husband can't get the red piece to budge
Was your oil leaking from there an that’s why u had to change it?
This a 2.0L or 1.8L?
Lol!! Best of luck to us huh?

Alberto Guerra computer
How did you get to the oil sensor. I got the compressor out of the way and still dont see a way to get to the sensor
I had to reach in with my hand to get to it, and then get the wrench to actually unscrew the sensor. It was a pain, but worth it once it was done
How do I disengage that lock. Been at it for 2 hours.
Did you have to empty the oil out of the pan first in order to change the pressure switch?
I did not. I had consulted with a few mechanics and was told it wasn't absolutely necessary unless I needed to do an oil change at the same time.
Whats the part number for the oil pressure sensor?
What symptoms was your car having that made you change the sensor? And also were those symptoms gone after changing it?
bro are u joking
was this for something like an ODB2 reading of P0522 ? or any of the P0520's
Im getting the same reading
Cant get the video to play on wifi or 4g LTE data
