When I was a new player in my first game of SS14 I found a bluespace anomaly and I had no idea what it was so I obviously walked into it, got teleported into space and died.
That moment I knew, this is best game ever.
I replicated that on purpose here lol
lol I walked into that so many times my first time in science. I was like "Who put this teleport here? It goes to the bridge" and kept going through it just to see if they would say anything. But security and the captain was just like "*sigh* Science...." and kept letting me out lol.
Oh god I can't believe there's finally an Ann Violet cameo in a Liltenhead video and all I say is "fishe".

just randomly punch animals xD I did that as a new player. Also used a torch on the pig screaming BACON! lol it was chaotic and I was arrested for arson lol Then they had to go through the whole ordeal of teaching me what to do while Syndies were breaking in around us. It was good fun. To be a completely new player and have syndies just killing people right outside of the cell you sit in was just crazy. I was like "Well....I don't think I want out anymore...." xD
Then they unlock the clown and dedicate hour to becoming a pain in the ass

I don't mean to rag on you, because your tutorials have saved my ass a whole lot, but this is honestly probably your best Science tutorial video so far. The dramatic irony helps a lot in a weird way, both players knowing while one pretends not to - it really ends up going over almost everything someone might want to know. You covered the bases for him (subtly) while he gave it his all. Highly recommend doing one of these for engineering, I might actually give it a chance if you break the ice for me lmfao (far too scared of fucking the station up and killing everyone and getting banned)
Admins can see your play time AFAIK so if you screw up royally, either it wont come up at all, or you might just be asked to explain your reasoning lol. intern roles exist for that, you can get your hands dirty but blame everyone else if it cocks up
oh engi one would be funny though good engis typically know quite well and don't mind teaching new players to it. I remember the first time I tried engi and had the chief personally tell me each individual thing. He had me set up the solar panels alone and taught me how to align em and all. Was an extremely good teacher, and even went so far lol as to teach me how to hack into places. Which later ended up saving his life when a spider killed him in an airlock and it got stuck open on the outside. I've only had good experiences when I tried each role as a new player, the community is so kind on that stuff lol. Oh and salvage was a fun one lol, I had a syndie salvo partner first time. We got all set up and went out to salvage and he explains that he doesn't really work for NT and was sent to sabotage the station but he had a change of heart upon meeting me. lol He bought illegal weapons and we used them to do expeditions together as he taught me all about the salvage role. It was the first time I met an actual syndie and they were the nicest person lol. (He did end up finishing his goal as it was to steal the QM item and they died right infront of us to a carp attack lol so he stole it then but he helped keep me alive the whole round which was fun)
Genuinely, do not be afraid to mess up the station. Making mistakes is a part of the learning process, and so long as you don’t do it on purpose, you’ll be okay. People will laugh. Some might get angry. But it’ll all be over and the next round will start soon enough.
Engi isn't bad, his guide legitimately is 90% of what you need to know to get going. 10% is the singulo guide. The rest? You'll figure it out as you go, that's the name of the game of engi! Can't cover everything, but you can fix most things if you know the fundamentals.
And in case you're worried, even experienced engis loose occasionally. Sometimes even as CE. Been there, done that
I was the AI this round! I heard the janitor shout over the intercom about how all the slimes were sci's fault so I was like "uh, maybe that window should be closed" and then just watched as they pulled out the gun and magdumped the windoor.

And then med left them behind in a body bag in the bay at evac... the one person i wanted to make it out that shift :(

I'm glad you managed to get some time to join harmoy again. It's truly an amazing place with many nice people. My first science shift had me walking into a blue space anomaly too as I tried to scan it but got too close. It was your tutorial on using the space epi pen that got me to safety. Thanks for all you've done.

my first game was on delta V were i wondered into and engi, took a mug. got put in jail for it then did it again and took some other shit. my shift ended when i got zapped by a rev in maints. died alone in the dark.

My first experience on this game was playing chess with a friend, an admin doing some things to the board, and later on someone threw 2-3 grenades on top of me mid game... I instantly fell in love.
The most fun i had teaching a new player was becoming "vermin hunters" on cog. It was a survival round so i was able to teach them how to fight really well. Sec was cool that round too allowing us to get armor and use weapons like knives. Died to dragon. still fun!
as a fairly new player i can confirm we don't use emotes much but i have learned how to point and how to laugh by this point.

I helped so many new players learn this game which I enjoy. Then I got Perma banned from wizden by saying a naughty word. I wish they took the good into account before making those decisions.
