Nice seeing some MRP revs. I never got to really see it play out, so I'm glad to see some footage. Also flashing the dude with flash protection made my soul die a bit lol. It's even better they came back and told you they weren't gonna snitch.
@@ButcherTTV I once stopped a cremate among a crowd, because their ID icon was blank. It was an Agent ID, and the poor guy didn't know how to configure it. Now, this was LRP, and the Captain saw it happen too, but I decided to teach them how to use it in OOC (even lending them my sechud so they noticed what was wrong). Guy was just walking around, not doing harm, so we sent them on their way, RPing it as a glitch with the sechud.
Do you know how revolutionary works in this game? You can’t just turn everyone into a revolutionary, it’s non-rp. You should ask them do they want to be a revolutionary first. It’s like shooting, you can shoot as a greytide, because this is a game mechanic, but you will be banned, because greytides don’t know how to shoot.
right now they're complaining on what should happen with the new mechanics they added and how to avoid metagaming. The whole fiasco feels like a non-issue
I understand the admins point, but at the end of the day I'm not going to waste the time trying to take over medbay to get an implanter to remove their mindshield. You are head rev, they should let you play how you want. if you ran around gibbing eveyr single person and it was a constant issue, sure then make a point to step in but the admins need not be a literal backseat gamer and tell everyone how they're supposed to play.
Personally I do get it. This was recorded on the MRP server and people there tend to play to have fun interactions and not necessarily to win. If you're playing Space Station just to win you're playing the game wrong. In this case I killed the scientist without words quickly because the station didn't knew the CE was dead and I stole their gear yet. I could not risk them screaming on the radio "FAKE CE" or something like that. Usually as a revolutionary I do not kill nonrevs. Very often I try to cuff them or even just let them live normally if they do not resist or snitch, like Chad Magor. That guy actually made it until the end still being unconverted and got killed on the evac shuttle by the dragon. If you're just "neutral" good revolutionaries won't kill you.
I fully understand why lrp servers removed revs, cause they look at that red "R" and think I'm an antag I can do whatever I want, and then half the crew is trapped in a dark station suffocating. Never did revs in mrp, maybe with more focus on having in roleplay reasons for actions it might be more fun and playable for all parties.
Oh yeah on MRP people see becoming a revolutionary a lot more like actually getting mindcontrolled, as in you try to do exactly what the headrev asks of you, which is how the mechanic was designed.
Which also means that bad headrevs just flash people and walk away. If you do that then you indeed get people just doing whatever they want as an antag. Good ones actually lead the revolution and give their revolutionaries instructions on what to do and when to do it I think, like I wanted to demonstrate in the video.
@@SuperDicq I remember a round where a headrev told me to get the captain's locker through any means necessary then find him, so I got the captain's locker hid it in maints and brought him to it, he said he needed a tool to open it so I got one and opened it for him, but he refused to acknowledge me when I came back to him. I proceeded to attempt to give the backup AA captain card to the other 2 headrevs with zero success. So after finding zero success trying to be a good minion I threw the aa card at one of the headrevs and decided to wait for the shuttle.
21:15 - Prime example of an admin who doesn't understand their job. If you're going to criticise someone for not RPing enough (which was really just a post hoc rationalisation to justify sending that unneccessary first message but whatever), then at least have the courtesy to not send a message DURING combat, like jesus man, get a grip.
I didn't think it was a bad thing for them to message me like this. The admin didn't give me a warning, or tell me I was breaking rules. They were just giving me a gameplay tip to make the game more fun for everyone. Getting BWOINKED in the middle of a combat situation is a little annoying I must admit. But that might be because from my understanding the admins are not always ingame to see what's going on but they could be messaging you from Discord instead.
@@SuperDicq I will admit I have a massive bias against admins so that is playing a role in my disagreement undoubtedly, but I think it's the hypocracy here that's the problem. The whole point of a complaint about your RP is that you're affecting the immersion of other players, but I honestly can't think of anything more immersion breaking than an admin message mid combat. As for admins not being in game, I can't imagine why they would even be messaging you here if they weren't watching, and if they were indeed not watching, why would they blindly criticise you without first checking if you're doing anything wrong in-game. Whatever the case may be, that was a great round to watch and I hope revs come back soon.
@@SuperDicq Maybe it’s a feature of that server, but on other servers you should have a permission of player, to make him revolutionary. Like, you might have an option not to be a revolutionary, if you don’t want to.

the admins need to seriously understand that mid combat and or round having a loud popping sound and a chat box take over a quarter of your screen really breaks the immersion when it's a non issue. it's a rev game, why would the (presumed) last head rev waste their time trying to get a implanter when a full on war is happening outside. I get they want to make sure someone isn't just being a dick and killing everyone, but maybe do some investigating instead of assuming the worst case when you aren't sure.
