I love my acoustic piano, you can have all the keyboards in the world but give me the acoustic piano. I hate the fact that many churches have gotten rid of their grand pianos and replaced it with electric keyboards. I don't care how good technology has gotten, I will never give up my acoustic piano.
One reason is that Acoustic pianos cannot take the constant use in churches without going out of tune often. Digital pianos like Motifs, Nords, Rolands dont go out of tune and can take lots of punishment. A decent tuning on a grand piano nowadays is at least $150 + per tuning - very expensive for a church to tune weekly or monthly.
@@TheLazyClips exactly!!! I’d rather PAY for the tuning of a piano than spending 5k on a NORD….although I love NORD. But NORD will never compare to that ACOUSTIC! That thing feels like butter & sounds pristine!
@@TerranceNock Pristine is the word for sure. Crazy resonance, depth, broadness of the sound and there is just nothing like the real thickk strings vibrating in the air around you.
It does crack me up when a highly skilled musician deviates from a traditional way of interpreting a song and say “he/she is overplaying.” He has no accompaniment and is filling in the dead spots. Relax……… Glen is one of the best in the business for a reason. Smh
It sounds like tens or also called thirds up the whatever scale , dim, minor , penta you just gatta explore. Anyways this playing is high level man you have to work really hard to get here , is possible bro.
+Maurice Maitland Jr. Thanks a bunch! It is hard to know these gospel songs since we sing and play differently here. But appreciate it! Great song, great playing
OK, I'm confused!! Is he reading the SHEET MUSIC and then modifying the entire CHORD STRUCTURE while he's playing? Cause I KNOW that ain't NUN A DAT on the SHEET MUSIC!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Sometimes you can overdo songs with entirely too many piano movements. This is definitely the case here. Just play the song please don't try to reinvent the wheel.
@@adriansears7015 It's obvious from your language u have absolutely no anointing!!! With no anointing u can not even come close to playing anywhere near this level. That's why you're so angry. It's ok guy. Keep practicing. This isn't that old Baptist style that u play. It's ok lil guy
@@adriansears7015 U must be absolutely insane if u think anointing has nothing to do with this style of gospel music. Idc how many years one has trained, the anointing is required to grasp this type of playing. I say that to say this..... I could play any and everything I heard as a kid using movements i had absolutely no idea i was doing until i got trained. Mind u, i played percussion in band all my life. I knew how to read rhythm and new all my scales and key signatures, but was unable to read notes and play at the same time. When i auditioned for my scholarship, the professor turned to a song-thank God it was a hymn I knew- in the key of g. I could and still can play in all keys mind u. As i proceeded to play this song, the professor stopped me in about 50 seconds in and asked me what am i doing. Nonchalantly i said i was playing the song. He asked me to continue playing. After playing the song in it's entirety, he asked me if i knew what i was doing and quite frankly, i didn't. He was dumbfounded at me about my use of theory, progressions, scales etc. I had now idea at that time how to explain how i did it. Long story short, i got a full ride based on what i DID!!!!!! Not what i KNEW!!!! Now i have my M.A in music, i can tell u exactly what is being played and how. Only God's anointing allows one to play without "knowing" what and how it's being played!!!!! I guarantee u over 75% and probably more, have no clue what Glenn is doing in terms of musicianship. He himself probably has no idea. And u most certainly don't if u think it's only tri-tones and simple licks. This is much more complex and advanced than just those 2 things that u mentioned. If u think it's what u feel is being done, i strongly suggest that u rethink your simplistic approach to this rendition
