- No narration in video. Link to narrated version ( • FAMOUS GRAVE TOUR: Her... ) at end of video. The tranquil Port Coquitlam cemetery. The grave of perhaps Canada's greatest hero. Terry Fox.
In 1977, Terry was an athletic local teenager when he lost his leg to cancer. He was so impacted by the suffering of other children in the hospital that he decided to run across Canada on his new prosthetic leg in the hopes of raising research money to help future patients. He started in Newfoundland in April 1980, and ran a marathon every day until September. He was half way across the country when Cancer cut him down and he was forced to stop. He passed away at the age of 22.
Terry is honoured by several statues including one at Terry Fox Secondary school in Port Coquitlam. Terry is interred between his dad Rolland and his loving mom Betty. Both of whom have a picture of Terry on their memorial stone.
Soon the Terry Fox foundation will have raised a billion dollars for cancer research. It's an honour to visit Terry's final resting place. His legacy is everlasting and he will never be forgotten.

Nicely done my friend.
Terry Fox was all heart and guts, his life was inspirational!
Well said Stan. 👍🇨🇦
I want to thank you very much for taking your time to film these grave sites. I have been wondering since Terry died what his gravesite looked like. I remember sitting with my parents in church when our minister told us that he passed away. I remember we were all shocked and then very saddened.
I went home to our farm changed my clothes and looked off into the distance of the sky and grass and fields and wondered why it happened. His mother was just as amazing as he was.
His legacy will never be forgotten and someday I hope to go to the memorial in Ontario where he ended his journey
Thank you for remembering Terry Gary. 🇨🇦👍👍

You are a patient man, JC. In PoCo, Placentia, or any other Canadian town - we all shared his hope, his determination, and his pain when he had to stop outside of Thunder Bay in 1980. He was a reluctant hero and a reminder that Cancer touches everyone’s life. My kids grew up singing his song and participating in his run. Hopefully Jo shares your link with others.
