    Inspired by your video I also filled my stash with unique rings from NM Andy. Unfortunately, I got only one SoJ. However, the chance for 2 SoJ is slightly better.

      That's really cool to hear that you took up the challenge!
      My sample size of two sets of 48 rings is far too small to draw any conclusions from - but I just found it fun to showcase that it is possible to pretty much guarantee to find a legit SoJ yourself within a couple of hours worth of visits to NM Andariel. Most seem to think that a SoJ is this mythical item that never drops (and that's to do with its ilvl) but that's not the entire story.
      Again, thank you for your comment.

    You can use the tome of identification with the right mouse button, just like the tp tome. Speeds things up a bit, also congrats on the soj.

      Thank you for your comment and feedback!
      Based on the experience I got from the runs I estimate that it took approximately 800 runs to get these 48 rings from NM Andariel. You should be seeing a unique ring every 17-18 runs (if you run around 450 MF like I did) and running it in /players 8 you can expect it taking about 12 seconds if you roll a good map (so you get to Andariel quickly) and do enough damage to kill her quickly (I used a fireball sorceress doing about 10k damage per fireball). So all in all, maybe 3 hours of effective farming (add more time for loading into the games, etc). It can be done in two sessions.
      If only NM Andariel wouldn't drop the set rings, the frequency of SoJs would increase dramatically... Let me know how your hunt goes if you ever decide to try to get a SoJ from NM Andariel!

    awesome, heh couple perf nagels and last ring a soj! heh so many manalds and nagels , not a single dwarf or ravenfrost :(

      Marko Polo The only unique rings that NM Andariel can drop are Manald, Nagel, or SoJ (not counting the set rings). So it's pretty much either a jackpot or nothing at all every time you identify a ring! Besides, in terms of other good rings like Wisp, BK wedding band, etc - Hell Andariel is probably the best target. NM Andariel is by far the best for SoJ hunting! Ty for watching and commenting.

    I was just saying at the last, it would be funny if this was a soj.
    Kind of strange.

      foxeh123 I was really hoping I would get at least 1/48 after all those runs but it seemed so implausible. But there it was! Last one and I identified them in order of dropping as well.

    how many runs did you have to do to find these rings?

    • @audeamusgaming
      @audeamusgaming  8 років тому

      I didn't actually run a counter, but based on experience gained I estimate roughly 800, averaging seeing one ring every 16 or 17 runs. Might seem like a lot, but considering that a run takes less than 13 seconds in players 8 for me with this character, it's actually not too long a grind. Only 1 SoJ is quite disappointing (in my previous try I got 2) but in Single Player Self-found even 1 SoJ goes a long way! Thank you for watching and commenting.

      Till Zaydowicz Thank you for your comment. This is 1.14 Single Player self-found. All the rings were identified in the order they dropped - I was as surprised as you to see that the very last ring was a Stone of Jordan. I assure you they are all legit. To prove it I might consider doing my next set in a time lapse so you see them dropping in real time (but I'm honestly quite tired of NM Andariel runs at this point). See my other video that is linked in the description if you want to see another set. Also see my website jahversusber.wordpress.com for some screenshots from my runs for further proof that the rings are legitimately found.

      Audeamus-Gaming well, bringing so much afford into explaining that it is legit might be a trustable comment, but I watched the Video and told my self: what are the odds that the last ring is a soj. and was pretty sure if it is going to be a soj that it is fake(since it is possible with some programms) ofc i do accept it is legit and am Looking forward seeing some less discusable Videos from you :) gl with your yt- channel

      maybe he copy pasted the save file on another folder, revealed all the rings on the save, individualized which one was the SoJ, then he came back to the file where the items were not revealed, ordered all the rings in his stash to make that happen.

      I really don't see the point in theorising about whether or not someone would go through all that trouble for what, to make it look whether or not something is identified last, or not? Anyone playing single player can at any point cheat and give themselves infinite Zod runes, Tyrael's MIght, or whatever.
      This is not the point of playing single player, however. At least not for me. I play self-found and try to finish the grail (find all the unique and set items in the game). This was a fun side-project just to see whether I could show that it is possible to more or less guarantee a legit, self-found SoJ per 48 unidentified rings from NM Andariel (see my other video) and out of a sample of two sets of 48 rings, I did prove it. I ran two sets that took many hours to do, and was really excited to share my results.
      I thought that seeing some self-found items being showcased might prove refreshing from the d2jsp and live streamed botting that runs on youtube daily. Maybe I was wrong in that matter.
      I am really disappointed, however, to see the malicious, paranoid, and negative outlook in the feedback here on UA-cam lately, in some comments. It really isn't encouraging in terms of making more videos and I seriously admire some UA-camrs that get tons of negativity and keep on track, seemingly unbothered. Kudos to them.

    • @audeamusgaming
      @audeamusgaming  8 років тому

      the spud muffin maker Point taken but Wisp Projector, Bul-Kathos Wedding Band etc all only drop in Hell and above. As for this set of 48, the last one is actually a Stone of Jordan. Depending on your definition of 'shitty' - it might qualify as usable? This method of focusing on Nightmare Andariel is the most reliable way of finding a SoJ (other than trading, I am playing self-found Single Player). Thank you for watching though.
