▬ About Us! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
We’re Blake and Eli, full-time nomads for the past three years! After meeting in 2021 while in Hawaii, we decided to completely change our lives to be together. We both worked 9-5 remotely, and knew very early on that we did not want to do that forever. So, while looking for new adventures we found a campervan in Hawaii, bought it sight unseen and fixed it up while living in it! Now we rent it out and use the income to fund some of our travels. In 2022, we began by traveling to Australia on a one way ticket! Now we love sharing all our crazy adventures on UA-cam! (we are definitely huge adrenaline junkies!) And show you how you can afford to travel more!

THANK YOU! Seeing your journey is inspiring. I'm doing this tour in May; I can't wait! I appreciate you showing the good and bad. I feel better knowing what to expect based on your experience. It seems like Salkantay Trekking is an amazing company -- really happy I invested in their trek! Your video is the only one that covered all my questions; I really appreciate you posting.
I’ll be doing this exact hike in April, and your video has got me SO excited!! Amazing video, thanks!!!
Love that you included all the highs & lows of the entire journey. Watching you two deal with altitude sickness was rough, can't imagine experiencing it firsthand. But you guys survived and made a great video! Couple questions:
- what time of year did you go? May?
- did chewing the coca leaves not help with the altitude sickness?
- were sandals a must ?
Thank you !!!
Hi! Thank you so much, it was tough but glad we were able to show the full journey! :)
We went beginning of November so start of raining season which was ok but would’ve preferred to avoid rainy season!
The cocoa leaves helped, but I think it was just too much altitude and blake is more susceptible to it i think… we should’ve stayed in cusco one more night & brought altitude pills in case!
Sandals or some type of slides that you can put on after long days of hiking yes! also helped a lot at the hot springs!
hope that helps! thanks for watching 🥰
As always, awesome video. Blake, you should be very careful of altitude sickness; not good! I LOVE your videos!
Thank you! Altitude sickness is no joke, we will be prepared for next time 😁
What would you recommend for altitude sickness? 😓we’ll be doing this same hike in 2 weeks.
great video! amazing shots
Thank you so much!
Great video
Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much!
Very well done video!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this! We leave Jan 11 on the same trek. Have the meds 😊already packed. How did you keep your camera charged?
@@chemurt558 super excited for you!! we did have charging available throughout the hike but we usually bring enough batteries just in case :)
Hi! Love the video, what time of year did you go? I’m going at beginning of April so trying to decide how many layers to bring!
@@lucyjensen1432 hi! thank you! we went beginning of november - it was pretty cold and rainy for us
fantastic trek
It really is! Thank you!
Hello! Loved your video, can you please send me the link from where you booked your trip? Or let me know the company you booked with? Thank you!
Hi
I am devon from Dublin
Great video and enjoyed watching !!
I am planning my salkantay trek in March and wish to do Salkantay-Inca trail combined trek and it costing me €1250/-
I would like to know that should I do separate treks (salkantay and Inca trail) separately . I am seasonal high altitude trekker .
What’s your recommendation on the above ?
Thanks in affance
hello!! thank you, glad you enjoyed it! i would definitely choose either the Salkantay or Inca trail. Salkantay if you care more about the nature and unique views/accommodations and Inca trail if you care more about the history and arriving directly into Machu Picchu. Goodluck!!
@ thanks for the quick reply .. appreciated!!
Could you share the tour operator’s details ?
Again thank you 🙏
@@Jaydev2001 we used Salkantay Trekking company
@ thank you 🙏
make sure to stick around to the end for a little surprise ;)
Oh my God why is the food looks so good what are the have personal kitchen while hiking
Wow doing this in 2 weeks and so worried about the altitude sickness and what do you recommend for that low oxygen and are the uphills very hard? Was it very hot? So many questions 😖🫣what to pack and not to pack? 🙏🏼
Wow, great video! On september i'll be turn to go there! Can i ask you something? What do you bring inside your backpack? And where you left all your belongs that doesn't fit on the bag? Thxxx
Thank you so much! We brought not very much in our hiking packs aside from a few snacks, layers for rain / cold, our camera gear, and some advil. Your daypack should be light and the rest of your clothes will be transported in their own bag. We mention this at some point!
Great video! We are doing the trek in a few weeks - how much did you tip? And how did you how how to breakup the tips between the guide, chefs, etc.?
I do not remember the exact amount. I think you should tip what you feels is right and remember they are still being paid well for their work. Its not customary to tip outside of tourism in Peru. Enjoy your trip!!
I think given all that they do for people on this trek and it being an entire 5 days of ensuring belongings (and people) are brought to each destination - and that these people would not have made it without the guides, it’s absolutely the right human thing to do to tip them whether it’s customary or not.
@@krose1 we agree it’s the right thing to do, and you definitely should if you are able to. we tipped more for our main guide and the main chef, and then a little less for those people who didn’t stay with us all 5 days. your guide will tell you a suggested amount!
Hello guys ❤ greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷
We love Turkey!! We want to go back soon :)
Sold. I’m doing it ❤
yesss! excited for you! :)
When did this trek happened?
@@faieza78 we did it in november!
How were you allowed to fly your drone? I was told I couldn't
Been wanting to do this tour/hike forever! If you could go again, do you think you'd pick the same time of year?
you definitely should do it!! we would actually try to go earlier so it’s not the start of the rainy season!
@@OnTodaysAdventure Hi. When were you there? My teen daughter and I are doing this in July. I’m wondering if it would be a bit drier then. Loooooved your video, definitely a bit scared of the altitude sickness over here.
What tour company did you book with?
We posted links in the description! :)
The tour company is Salkintay Trekking not GetYourGuide, bit disingenuous to try and get more ad income
If you did it again, What would you change or what things in your kit would you add or take out? How would you prepare better for it
we definitely would have spent 3 nights in Cusco before hand instead of 2, just to adjust to the elevation a bit more. We also would have brought altitude pills and understood when to take them to not get super sick. Overall we felt the clothes we brought were pretty good, hiking boots and sandals are all we needed! Maybe some more short sleeves since we did get hot in some parts. We pretty much wore the same hiking pants the whole time so maybe bring less pants in general! Hope that helps :)
@@OnTodaysAdventure do you mind explaining when the 'right time' is to take altitude pills? :-) thanks for such a comprehensive video!!!
@@kitkat81818 i believe like anti sea sickness meds, you need to take it preemptively, prior to getting sick. Once your sick, not likely to be too helpful
Hi, how many days you spent in cusco to acclimatise before starting the trek?
we spent 2 nights! we recommend 3+ though
@@OnTodaysAdventure Thanks!
Did you stay in cusco a few days before the hike to acclimate to altitude? Im doing the same hike next month and we are staying two days in cusco before the big hike
Yes we were in Cusco for 2 nights before the big hike. I would recommend at least 2 nights and bring altitude sickness pills!
When is the end song dropping on Spotify?😍😍
We need this!!
Which tour company did you book through ?
We posted links in the description! :)
Awesome video. Also, this chick is a daytime 9.
You ditched the team that supported both of you....really??? You did quit, you quit the trek and your team.....
i’m sorry but you clearly did not watch the video. we both finished the trek with the team, while having altitude sickness blake kept going to meet up with the team at the top, he never quit.
@@OnTodaysAdventure I owe you both an apology. You are absolutely correct. My comment was way off, I suspect my fatigue yesterday clouded my perception. No excuse, the comment was really inappropriate. I am sorry. You guys did outstanding despite the challenges, you did do it. Wishing you both well and many more adventures!!
