This book was a joy. The attention to detail fabulous. The narrator is flawless. I wonder if people appreciate the work put in to bring about such creativity, well l certainly do. Bravo!
What a glorious find. A wonderful gentle story so beautifully read. So many times a good audio book is spoiled by rushed reading but not this. I cannot wait to discover the other stories so expertly read. Thank you.
did anyone else click on this audiobook from just the picture on the cover of the book? Looking at it now - after 5 hours into the book - it is so very symbolic - I love it! The way the girl is looking towards the castle - that is far away from her - and yet not so far - so very intriguing! The picture alone tells so much of the story :)
Loved this story as I knew I would. Perry quickly became a favorite character among your novels. I loved his humble and down to earth nature even though he was the heir to a Barony. It was done in a very convincing way too. I love your writing style and I'm really glad yours was the first of the series to come out. You certainly left a high standard for the rest ❤
Wonderful Story, I enjoyed it so very much!! Always a treat to read one of your Books. I read it and I listened to it again. Stevie is a fantastic narrator. She does the story credit.
A really lovely story, very enjoyable & in some places very sad but it was a beautiful love story. Many thanks for all the enjoyment you bring in writing the book & to Stevie for reading it & therefore bringing the characters too life xxxxx
Another fabulous book by Jennie! I thoroughly enjoyed the characters in this book and could identify with much of Marianne. The book came to an end too quickly, which is indicative of an excellent book. The narrator is my favorite for Jennie’s books. Thank you for making it available to us. 😊
I have problem with my eyes & reading so I need audiobooks. I dearly love your clean romances. I put them on when I go to bed & listen as I relax. If I fall asleep, I trace back to where I remember the story & start it up again. Thank you so much. I subscribed to you & will read all you write.
Definitely enjoying this audiobook. I am thinking that Perry has not chosen his 'friendship group' very wisely and just trying to be excepted by 'showing off' his new statis.
Two minutes in , relaxed when I heard the lovely narrators voice, I do so detest those AI robot audiobooks, I'd much rather read the book myself than listen to a fake voice, give me the real thing every time , a lovely voice music to my ears. now I'll get comfy and get ready to listen to the next 7hrs 34 minutes!! I'll have to rewind it back 20 mins, to listen again, because it took me 20 minutes to type this text , to old to multi-task .
🌹🌿Wow! 🌱🌷This was a rollercoaster of surprises🐖, interesting characters and developings🫖☕ - thank you so much🌹for the wonderful story 💖and the amazing narration!💖
I love the way you weave your stories. They are so very enjoyable. Thank you for your generosity in sharing such pleasurable entertainment. You are such an artist in this regard ❤❤❤
Another wonderful wholesome and wise story that shows the goodness of your own heart and inspires others to goodness and kindness but also to fight against evil.E.g.revealing and fighting controling and gaslighting people!- You have a beautiful calling as a wholesome author enriching other women of all ages!-Blessings & SHALOM from The Prince of Peace to you & all❤🕊💒🛐✝️
35:48 - Kinda really liking the beginning of this book - it's very interesting. 5:17:16 - I am really loving this book - the story is interesting - even though nothing at all is happening in the story - spoiler - except for the attempted break-in at Miss MaryAnn's cottage - you know - seriously - a lot has happened in the story - I misspoke - at any rate - I am loving this story! It is very interesting and I love the character development of Perry and MaryAnn - they are easy to love and connect with - which is the very best trait of a good book! I especially love - spoiler - how Perry isn't all embarrassed of MaryAnn and shying away from her while his uncle is there. And dang! I laughed right out loud when the uncle put the companion in her place at dinner - lol - it still makes me chuckle when I think back on it! Sigh - This is such a really good book - and I'm noticing there is only 2 hours left of this story and just got sad all of a sudden... I just don't want it to end. AND - did anyone fall in love with the picture on the cover of the book - looking at it now - it is so very symbolic - I love it! The way the girl is looking towards the castle - that is far away from her - yet not so far - so very well done! The picture alone tells the whole story :) Sigh - such a sweet tender cute love story! It leaves a smile on my face - even now - and joy in my heart - sigh... It - spoiler - was sad that she fell in the mud on her wedding day - but still, a really really good book - so worth the listen.
Oh! I would be so happy if there were a second ( or even 3rd ☺️) installment of this story. There are so many stories whose threads could be picked up and spun into a great tales!
I do have a mini sequel with Raife's story but it's only in ebook format. You get it for free by signing up for my newsletter. (But again, link is in the ebook version). :-)
It's so fun when there are more books not yet read, isn't it? (I need to start my next one ) the sequel to A Whimsical Notion) but it's not out until August, unless I can write it more quickly than that.
@JennieGoutet yes, it is fun to always have a book to be excited for! Although my TBR pile sometimes feels a bit overwhelming, LOL! But that is a great problem to have! I just read the description for the second book in the Daughters of Gentry series. It sounds great! I was hoping Arabella and Theo would get together.
This is my 2nd audiobook of Ms Goutet. I cannot tell you how many audios of historical romances I have abandoned after a few hours listening. I cannot listen to (or read) the nonsense some American authors spew about historical eras. I know there are many people who do not care if the story isn't historically correct or characters behaving like modern people in a historical era, but such things turn me off immediately. Ms Goutet's romances are different. Thank you, I can actually finish your books and enjoy them.
Jennie intriguing story as usual and Stevie’s talent brings it to life. I admit I suspected the Vernon’s were not as they seemed. Hooray for Amelia. And just lovely seeing Perry’s chivalry. (Sigh)
Loved this story. Stevie Zimmerman is the best. I'm eager to read the 2nd epilogue. There's a few people I'd like a peek into the future for, and I may just get that. :D
Goodness ! That was a bit of a roller coaster ride . I really enjoyed the story, a page turner ( not sure what the correct term is for the audio version ☺)
There is one actually but it's just a short story - a couple of chapters and it's something you get for free for signing up for my newsletter. BookHip.com/MBXTCAV That is the link but you'll probably have to copy and paste into a new browser. I'm not sure you can click on it.
Both story and narration are excellent! Just finished “A Stroke of Good Fortune” brilliant plot with twists & turns, villains and friends, such fun! I could not put it down. My only… ? Why are so many of these heroines in the genre named Arabella? Across a dozen authors at least 1 in 5 have a heroine with that name! Is there a significance with that name I am unaware of? 😊
No, it's just there are not a ton of names to choose from that would be culturally appropriate (as in - actually in use). Tiffany is surprisingly one of those names though most authors don't use it because it feels too modern. And I think many of us prefer to have names other than Ann, Mary, Elizabeth...
No. It's a new release with new content. Any resemblance to another work is purely by accident. I do hope that before long you'll find it quite different to whatever story you're thinking of. :-)
The beginning was overbearing and the gall of FL claiming the castle as her own And being put out because someone inherited it and might want her gone, but it's getting nice Good storyline strong character
This book was a joy. The attention to detail fabulous. The narrator is flawless. I wonder if people appreciate the work put in to bring about such creativity, well l certainly do. Bravo!
How refreshing to have found an author who introduces heroes and heroines who are actually likeable! I am loving your books. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad :)
Loved this one. Proper old fashioned courtship and gentle romance is such a lovely thing.
Once again I could not stop listening. The lady that narrates is simply marvellous.
Stevie is wonderful.

I read this book and enjoyed it very much. So good of you to offer this recording free of charge. God bless💕
Another very good story with the best narrator! Loved the ending.❤️
Thank you for offering these clean romances. Very much appreciated! May you be blessed!

The real history behind this particular castle is very interesting.

Halfway through. Another great story. Your characterizations are brilliant and your story moves at a great pace.

I’m up to chapter 8 and really enjoying it! 2:10:40

I clicked because Steve Zimmerman is reading :)
She's great, isn't she?
I am at chapter four and I sincerely hope the hero improve. So far he is a little uppity snob.

I just purchased this on Kindle and I’m pretty sure I have read this before. Is this a release with a difference title?
No. It's a new release with new content. Any resemblance to another work is purely by accident. I do hope that before long you'll find it quite different to whatever story you're thinking of. :-)
Simple selfishness. 😮 No criminality. I've been reading too many mysteries 😅
His horse is a Percheron?! A draft horse? As a mount? Lol! He’d be riding a Thoroughbred or hunter cross..
Fair enough. The horse details are probably the hardest for me to get right since I'm starting with zero knowledge.
The beginning was overbearing and the gall of FL claiming the castle as her own And being put out because someone inherited it and might want her gone, but it's getting nice
Good storyline strong character

Miss Fife 😡😡
What are the angry faces for, ha ha?
You have written her very well Jennie.
Women like that existed then and now.
A real wagon as they would say in Ireland
I wish Raife and miss belford will have their own love story as well,
They do, but only in novelette format on ebook. It's a link at the back of my ebook version of this book. :)
@@JennieGoutet oh,i hope there’s gonna be an audio version even if its a novelette
