Tamed Megatheriums have to kill the insects to get the bug buff. Wild Megatheriums for some reason can get the bug buff around bugs because normally they are not aggressive near bugs unless of the buff.

myself i have 2 megatheriums, colors 8 and 74 and also 1 and 74. it's a blueish hands and white coat the 8. called it freeze cause it seems like it's cold, the other one inferno cause he's bright red and frozen hands, like freeze tried to warm itself but got burned like a lobster
I'm always set the quality of Syntac videos to the lowest and then playing ark while enjoy his voice like a radio program. It really helpful in making me feel less lonely in the sv with 1/100 players...
The megatherium, I find, in genesis when you do the bog missions/ fights, that they really exceed at. They get their buff from the bug swarm and they are just great when it comes to the fight missions And the megatherium needs to harvest the insect for the buff. The insect can be a corpse or you can get the kill. As long as it eat it, you can get the buff
20:07 yeah there is this bug with the snow owls right now, that they get stuck in something while you're riding on them, you have to get off to fix it.
You should tame an archelon from ark additions. They have a similar buff as the sloth but when killing jelyfish. Pretty tanky, pretty strong. Small turn radius and immune to jellyfish and eel stings. Also who doesnt like a giant sea turtle :)

I like the sitting feature too but the sleeping on the megalosaurus is even better- it would be awesome if you could have more of your tames curled up asleep around your base!

Megatherium on Val also spawn in the tundra biome and it's much easier to get them there, open space easier to roam and spot creatures in and no annoying critters like micros (watch out for pigs wolves and yutys).

Aside from the inside joke about Galimimus being powerful, it’s somewhat true because nothing can keep up with them! You can run around in the wasteland on Extinction without getting hit by anything because of how fast Gallimimus are so if you want a very fast ground mount a Gali is perfect and there weight isn’t bad either!
Tamed Megatheriums only get the buff when they kill a bug themselves. Hence why the entire megatherium army in a broodmother fight doesn't go in a rage when one kills a bug. Only wild ones get the buff from nearby bugs. The bug killer buff grants a 75% damage reduction (reducing damage dealt to it by 4 times or taking 1/4th of the damage) It also gives the megatherium a 2.5x damage boost. This means that a buffed Megatherium is more survivalble and deals more damage then rexes or theris by a significant amount, as long as they have the buff. Additionally, megatheriums have a passive 50% damage boost vs bugs. meaning they deal 1.5 times damage vs bugs. This stacks with the bugkiller buff, which results into a total of 375% or 3.75 times their normal damage when buffed versus bugs. Megatherium do not benefit from veggie cakes.
Snow Owls are a bugged since they can easily be pushed sort of into the ”mesh” of ruins, rocks etc. and then they’re just stuck untill you dismount or best case scenario; get pushed back out like you. Have lost couple of owls because of that bug.
Lol my homie has the most powerful megatherium stats on xbox offical PVE. Been breeding several hundreds a week since the offical launch of the game. Sometimes he sells his dooky stat one for mats and stuff. And they're still the highest on xbox Theres no one on xbox pve offical with higher mega stats. They're definitely a fun dinosaur that you dont see many people use. I can definitely appreciate this

he friendly neighborhood fan here with a pro ish tip witch is: if you go to the green obelisk on the island therr are usually a few therezino's walking in the sort of valley there between the woods aand the river kinda south east of the obelisk hope this helps
Syn, when you need saddles for your megatherium army go to genesis and do the Alpha Manta Ray Race about 10x's and you should get enough asc saddles for them.

Megatheriums aren’t actually sloths, they’re the creature we see today as the anteater. So yeah, that’s something you didn’t know about til now.

I googled it and it says they were a genus of giant ground sloth, so maybe anteaters branched off of them at one point in time?
