KOINONIA!!! As vital as apostolic doctrine, and Prayer, but sadly neglected, misunderstood, abused, ignored, mishandled, and redefined by the carnal. We begin this new series defining and explaining what is New Testament Fellowship. When we turn spiritual Thanksgiving into fleshly banter, time together into foolish wasteful talk instead of godly edifying, when our time together is not governed and guarded by scripture, when people constantly rush away from church after the service with no interaction in the local body, or can do no more than talk sport after a holy gathering, something is wrong! We have become inept in our basic understanding of fellowship. Let’s embark on a journey of discovering what the Word means in scripture. There is an entire biblical teaching on Koinonia (fellowship), that covers every relationship we are involved in.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:20-23
Thank you so much. Since my husband's passing last year I have felt like a bit of a bruised reed or smoking flax, but listening to your passionate preaching of the Word has put salve on the bruises and reignited the flax!
I so appreciate this teaching. I attend a church that doesnt understand the meaning of koininia and it is really frustrating to me. Fellowship should be more than socializing.
Thank you pastor I've asked the Lord to please draw me closer to him this year then last year and I love to fellowship with other believers I'm praying daily for a church. I have my Christian family in Texas but I also know God did lead me here I've been to many churches in my life but have never learned as much as I have here at LCC I appreciate you and my brothers and sisters so very much continuing prayers 🙌♥️
I haven’t listened yet but already know I’m going to agree with your message. ‘Fellowship’ in the church has become anything but spiritual. 😢 It really breaks my heart to see the stage of the church today. Watching from Canada. 🇨🇦
One of my brothers was involved in the Shepherding movement here in The USA. It was very destructive to his life as a then new believer. He withdrew from fellowship altogether.
There is risk in every platoon but if you don't trust your fellow soldiers for Jesus Christ we might as well sit under a tree and stay safe right? No we must march and believe and expect the Lord will bless that faith in other Christians and His spirit in them. ✝️🙏
Interesting to note that abusive partners need to isolate their victim to be effective in their control of the victim.. Is it possible for an abusive relationship to take place while the victim has Christian fellowship?
