Well...someone’s in every Touhou video
So the first things Reimu came across were just random ghosts. After that she came to the sword girl, Youmu. Youmu is half phantom and half human. After that she faces Yuyuko who is a ghost with the ability to manipulate death. The plot of the story is that Yuyuko wanted to bring the giant cherry blossom tree, called the saigyou ayakashi, to full bloom in order resurrect a certain someone sealed under the tree. Reimu was fighting her because Reimu thinks, appropriately, that you shouldn't just randomly resurrect people who were sealed. What Yuyuko and Reimu didn't know was that it was Yuyuko herself who was sealed underneath the tree leading to the last part. I'll explain the rest of her story if you want it, but that's everything that happened in the video

Love this reaction. The reason Yuyuko (the boss fight) started fading was because she is a ghost princess with the power to cause death. But she wanted to try something new and was trying to resurrect the body buried under the tree from the power of spring that she was stealing from the world. But she was fading because she was actually resurrecting herself without realizing that it was her own body.
This animation is a video of the Stage 6 of touhou 7, Perfet Cherry Blossom.
Like any stage 6, we start with some various ennemies before find eventually a Mid boss, here, Youmu. (the green clothed girl)
Yuyuko is the main antagonist of Touhou 7, during its events, she made Youmu find a way to make the big cherry three (named Saigyou Ayakashi) bloom to resurrect the corpse buried beneath it, apparently unaware that it was her own body.
Yuyuko have the ability to control death ( a living Death note), basically, she can kill everyone, with the exception of immortal being, but she never use it.
Since you seem determined to watch these in reverse order you'll want to watch Marisa vs Flandre next followed by Reimu vs Remilia.
There's also a sound effect mix of Reimu vs Marisa called the SEMIX which adds a lot to it.
Also, just as an FYI. Reimu is pronounced "Ray-moo", Yuyuko is "You-you-koh", Remilia is "Reh-meel-yuh", Sakuya is "Sah-koo-yah", Flandre is "Flan-druh" or "Flan-dray" (technically its a french name but both are correct), Yukari is "You-car-ee", and the upcoming one will have a character in it named Koishi pronounced "Koy-shee"
Lastly, I got some background info for you. Reimu is actually protecting the world. These games take place in Gensokyo which is essentially a nature preserve for supernatural beings, gods, demons, etc. The fireworks are a form of dueling so that these supernatural beings can cause "trouble" (many of them need to cause trouble to survive) and the shrine maiden can "exterminate" them without causing catastrophic damage or anyone dying.
It's also in place so super powerful god-like beings can do battle without being in an eternally escalating stalemate. Since Danmaku is about beauty and expression as well as "winning."

Ok well firstly the girl with pink hair is a ghost princess and she is using spring to revive the tree behind her. The tree is actually a youkai tree which consumed the souls of too many humans so it was sealed using the body of a person. Yuyuko the pink haired girl is reviving the tree to resurrect the body beneath it. However what she didn’t know was that it was her body sealing it. Her vanishing was her actually coming back to life. The green clothes girl is named Youmu and she is half human half phantom and is the gardener, servant, and fencing teacher for yuyuko.
The story of Perfect Cherry Blossom is: Spring has been abscent from Gensokyo (the place where all the Touhou games take place), and so snow was covering everything even in May, causing real trouble there. Yuyuko has stolen the Spring and brought it to the realm of the dead: the Netherworld, where she was trying to use the essence of Spring to resurrecd the Saigouji Ayakashi cherry blossom tree to make it have a perfect blossom.
Or protagonist try to stop her, bringing Spring back to Gensokyo.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, you keep calling them patterns and beautiful. That is exactly their purpose, you see in Gensokyo (The land the Touhou series is about) Reimu, the youkai, and others have powers so strong it could destroy the earth, universes, multiverses, etc. So, in order to settle disputes/battles without causing serious actual damage, they invented the spell card system. It uses non-lethal patterns of bullets (similar to fireworks) to fight. (Well, still lethal, but not world ending).
