Good place that works for me is the forest as you go to the blue zone
They spawn in the forest as the other person said if you haven’t found one. Most likely they will find you first

So do u need go build 30 feathers after each feed with this method?
No, the feathers should stay unless you let the timer runs out or the Yi Ling hits you during its dive attack.
Mystic ark is amazing at finding this method!

Can you constantly stun it with Z after first dive? Or do you have to let it dive each time and stun it?
You have to let it dive again to be able to stun and feed it

Do exterminate every other life form in the area so it stays on you instead of going to something else
When you said you yi ling I think you must have said it wrong bc it's pronounced summon of Satan
Circle with triangle foundations is better
It may be but it also costs a bit more
