It's not as bad as the story where an exterminator was called to deal with these tiny spiders were living in the eyes and through out the customer and his wife's body including her stomach. After the exterminator found a web 1000s upon 1000s little spiders and they all came out of every space possible and they ended covering him completely and ended up getting in his eyes and lungs and every place they could. It's similar to the Dark Tower rose, but less of a key or powerful item, and more an indication of supernatural or at least "strange" activity (and just a fun easter egg from the author - they throw a reference in all their work, calling back to another work of theirs). So is the Hatchet Corporation; Hatchet is used a bit less than the blue sunflowers, but it's also from this author's shared world.
