From my perspective, the entirety of experience/perception is subjective. So you say pretentious nonsense, I say art, and it doesn't matter a lick either way, mate.
I want to say that when Tyshawn throws his sticks down at the kit at around 54:20 it is absolutely musical and exactly correct and totally life affirming.

incredible music. it takes a lot of sensitivity and giving up of the ego to be able to play this way, everything fits together. i dont think this music needs to be justified by the effort put into to create it however, there is beautiful harmony and there are interesting rhythmic and melodic contours throughout
