J'ai démonté mes pots d'origine pour mettre des vances et hines votre vidéo m'a immensément aidé sachant que c'est la première fois que je fais de le mécanique de ma vie merci à vous 🙏✌️
Exactly what I needed to see! I'm wanting to do the modification and have been spraying the bolts with WD40 regularly. I just needed the confidence to proceed with the mod.
Hi. Nice video. I'll be fitting some Highway Hawk short cuts to my V-Star, the stock pipes have been modified and the cross link tube cut and sealed so the sound is rubbish. Hoping the new pipes sound good. Btw, love the bat on the battery cover, I got skulls on mine 😊
Would the exhaust gasket need to be replaced ? My exhaust sounds like it’s going to blow up pushing full throttle and sounds like it’s sputtering backfiring after I let the throttle off. Front header pipes turning blue. It won’t accelerate past 60mph and bogs down, I’m guessing it maybe an exhaust gasket leak in the front?
You work for them then :P at the cost of them, plus the work and the cost of a rejet I think I do it the old "Do it yourself way"... It seems to be missing from todays motorcycling community in favour of expensive bolt on parts... Thank you
Hi, great video! I had planned on taking the entire exhaust off but my goal was to just remove the heat shields. Can you do this or are they welded on ? Many thanks
Gothtecdotcom cheers its for my friends bike i do a bit of work on it from time to time as well as to my shadow. his exhaust bolts have rusted away so im gonna need to replace them all together. thanks for the reply
Jackson Cruz Is held on by a ring with an allan bolt? If so then no. If the bolt is tight and the ring is loose then it may need packing, which I used aluminium foil folded tight to do it when one of mine lost its original packing. If its one of the ones thats welded on then yes, because you need to get a welder on it to fix, or rip it off and grind back, a coat of matt black BBQ paint, sorry exhaust paint should neaten it up, or exhaust wrap, but it will always look a little odd... I'me guessing that one of the rings just lost its packing, because the other is either expensive or looks messy.
***** What I had to wind up doing was remove the entire exhaust and remove the front pipe. After I did that I wedged the chrome trim open enough to stick a screwdriver in and remove both phillips screws inside of it. Then replaced those with 10mm bolts and used red loctite on the threads. I tightened them up really snug so they should never back off now. I did all this without damaging the welded on band in the front. Thanks for replying back.
Are the two pipes actually connected by the down pipe in between them, if i cut it in the middle to make two seperate pieces will it leek exhaust fumes? Or is it just a stabilizer?

@@matthiascebron5411 je t'en prie :D
Really appreciate you taking the time to show how that's done 🙏

Thanks dude ! Removing the V&S with the stock system.
Thank you yet again, got the book but watch you makes it easier...
thanks for teaching! Greetings from Austria Eric

Your running rich by the sounds of it.... or its misfiring... check your electrics first.. New plugs and coil... Do you still have your AIS installed?
Good video
Thanks for nice video from Turkiye
Is it necessary to remove the footrest and brake to remove the lower exhaust?
No, but it makes it so much easier
What is that special tool call to remove bolts ? I cant get to it...
Either a hex key with extension bar or in this case as I had replaced with marine grade bolts, a 13mm socket with extension bar ...
Thx man!
Keep the old ones off and shoot for some Vance and Hines Cruzers. Look and sound better and weigh a lot less. Like your vids!!!

As the bike died a few years back, it is now in storage... but from memory it might be a bit of both
Where'd you get the replacement bolts for exhaust?
ebay
can you please help me. what diamiter is the thread of the marien grade bolts you have holding the exhaust into the cylinder
From memory M10, but that was a very long time ago... Ebay records don't go back that far..

Yeah, they are prone to that, hence replacing them
On mine that last little chrome trim piece is loose on the final pipe. Do I need to remove entire exhaust to get it tight again?

About to try the same thing
It wont damage the bike if i took off one exhaust and run it ?
For a few seconds no, but you need back pressure other wise it runs lean and can overheat the engine and sparks...
thanks man! i go remove my ekhaust
Thanks!

It'll knacker the back pressure balance and knacker the performance
It an important part of the exhaust so don't...
