I love the memory of this man. Several generations loved the man and his music. My wife recently passed away (March 29, 2024), and I understand and know how much Pete and his wife loved each other. I see it in his eyes in this video. It made me weep for him and for my wife too.
I love and respect this man more than almost any other I can name. He gave and gave and gave of himself, and all for the benefit of others. His music brought me and millions more joy and comfort than words could ever convey. Rest in peace, Pete. Lord knows, you deserve nothing less.
What wonderful people. They lived the life they chose - spreading freedom, good will, enthusiasm for our nation in their gentle, caring way - with music, a few jokes, helping us all song along - together. Miss you Pete.
I was so afraid that when Toshi passed on that it wouldn't be long until Pete joined her. And sure enough, 6 months later, he did. I will miss them both forever. The world is so much poorer now that they are gone. Sad, sad, sad.
Go out in the garden, you'll find something waiting, a frown upside down. Right there where you left it playing on the ground. It tastes like raspberries in every Giant is a baby step waiting. We should all hope our inner songs poetry work for these two will be proud, and rest in power underneath the ground. Thank you so much Toshi and Pete, we miss you now more than ever. All of us together. Solidarity forever.
Incredibly moving and I had never seen that this was even .. on here. So glad that he was willing to speak about this.. it's so hard when you are with someone you love so much for so long and lose them. It doesn't matter if you expect this, if you know it's coming.. It can still be a shock in some ways. Above all other things, you never ever stop missing them.
This is almost unbearable to watch... Pete always gave Toshi the credit she deserved for making it possible for him to do what he did for all of us. We all owe her a debt of gratitude.
I understand what you mean but look at the gleam in his eye at 1:07 when talking about her. What a wonderful love, partnership and respect. Few few have ever had that.
Your legacy lives on in Beacon. Thanks so much for our beautiful river front park and your spirit is still such a part of this great river city. Proud to be a Beaconite!!
Such a beautiful tribute. Pete and his bride are together now. He is playing the Banjo and she is clapping and smiling. I see the heartbreak in his eyes but I also see the joy of how he loved her.
The light has gone out of his eyes. It's no wonder he passed soon after Toshi did. Wonderful, they were. Down to earth and caring geniuses. I am glad we have this wonderful tribute to a great woman by her mourning husband.
Grief should be talked about more. My husband died of demitia, and I thought he was "just getting old". I LOVED HIM SO MUCH! RIP Robert! I will spread his ashes at the Beach, Ocean, Golf Course, in our backyard, and everywhere he and I loved.❤
Such dignity and a deep love in this. I find it very moving. Yes, the words of "Turn, Turn, Turn" come to mind. God bless you both, together again and never to be parted.
That can't help but make you think of all the countless people that, one way or another, went through so much, and were driven to where they are now ..... by such a range of events, from cruel to dramatic. It's not all audacity & adventure, of course. Every event has it's consequence, and SELECTING how to add one brick to existing foundations .... without risking disastrous, later collapse .... well, that's the difficult part. Yet we're always in a hurry to place those bricks, instead of learning earlier on that slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Here's to those who help us remember that gentle is gracious, and grace is adaptive.

You are love, mr. Seeger! Your memory shan't be forgotten! I'm just a 22yo kid, but I Will keep the memory of your exceptional songs.

Wish my wife cared about me like that....

Great way to explain life long love without ever having to say the word as only Pete Seeger could do.

Rest in peace Pete and Toshi. Thank you for all the music.
Rip you wonderful man what a legacy we all reach difficult times but these pass and we rest with our loved ones past

So very sad. A man we have always loved, paying tribute to a woman that we never really knew. They are together now, our only consolation.
I love it how she could still put a smile on his face solely with the memories she left behind :)
No one will ever match the genius of the Seeger family. Thank you, dear friends for so many valuable lessons and memories.

This man is a true legend, not only in music, but in life!
Peter Seeger will live forever in his songs and in our hearts
A beautiful, beautiful man. See the love, in his eyes.
I will be 70 on Halloween. Pete has been my hero since I was in my early 20's. Just a simple, decent man who managed to live his beliefs.
Heartbreakingly beautiful.
Soulmates who changed this world for the better/ rest in peace dear ones
A man who gave so much what a legacy RIP Mr Seeger
How beautifully expressed.
I stayed with Pete and Toshi in their log cabin guest house high above the Hudson river in 1973. I was there for several days. It was marvelous.
They died within a year of each other. Rest in peace.
Such a cool guy. My elementary music teacher actually shared the stage with him once, presumably at one of these sorts of festivals he mentioned.
This is so say, rest in peace, both.
I miss you Pete, you move to tears.
“Not as much dishes to wash anymore” may not seem like much but it hurts to the core when hearing it
Thank you.
I got to play a few songs with Pete years ago at the Beacon Sloop Club. He spoke of how Toshi was the woman behind his success.
Pete Seeger, the most respect worthy American.
She was So GREAT! Clearwater.. 69.. I was there..

I absolutely HATE with an enthuciatic passion the 6 invertebrates who gave thumbs down to this.
The best
He was an amazing man. I am better off for knowing him
If anyone could rest in Peace it would be Pete.
Miss you Pete
