The Empire.... has taken considerable damage. The invasion of Commenor was costly and ultimately, Imperial strategic goals were not met. Whilst the Imperial fleet did eventually arrive at Druckenwell at push out the Black Sun fleet, Black Sun forces had already taken the planet. Perhaps prioritising more active threats would have been a wiser course of action?
That would of course require noticing the active threats, shoring up key border worlds like Drukenwell BEFORE they're taken with little resistance, and not making impulsive decisions on where to send the fleets, and what to spend the weeks credits on.
Put Ozzel with the ground units, relegate him to fire support for the army. The insult alone makes the idea worthwhile. You don't want to put him in an actual space battle, because he sucks so bad, but his gunners and bomber crews can still hit a target the side of a planet. Probably. ...best to call in the strikes from a little further away than normal, maybe. Also please for the love of repeating blasters get a max-tier barracks on Caridia, do you have ANY idea how good top-tier infantry are, you're killing me! But not the enemy! Because you don't have your best infantry!
Field Agent Log: Maj. [ERROR: Unauthorized Clearance] Imperial Intelligence Agent “Harbinger” After the better part of a year, command had finally approved the invasion of Commenor. We have held the orbit of the planet for a very long time, using it as a trap to lure any rebels desperate or foolish enough to try and break our blockade. This strategy was a double edged vibrosword, however, as the lengthy siege gave our enemy time to dig in and prepare for the inevitable attack. When we finally made planet fall, our eyes were greeted with miles and miles of trenches and fortifications. Barbed wire, hedgehogs, dragons teeth, you name it. Everything the rebels needed to stop an Imperial assault, from our armor to our infantry. Every firing position and gun emplacement was placed so that no assaulting force would ever be safe from their fire. Once the main assault force hit the first defense line, my squad and I joined detachments from the 501st Stormtrooper corps and the 282nd Infantry along with Lieutenant Chas’ team to capture a hilltop and fortify it into a fighting position. Securing the hilltop took no time at all, and the rebel counterattack was swift. Noticing the battle wasn’t going our way, as the main assault force was being torn apart, my squad was ordered to move behind the enemy defenses and neutralize key leadership and hopefully weaken the defenses overall. Just as we were fully embedded into the rebel lines, the retreat order was called. We were too far deep to receive support, nor would we be able to make it to the evac site in time. To make matters worse, we were spotted. So we did the only thing we could do that wouldn’t get us killed. We ran. We hid. We went to ground as best we could, picking off any rebel squad too close for comfort. That was 3 days ago now. We’re still being hunted, but we have a secure enough holding spot. I just hope we’ll be able to make it long enough for me to think of a way out of here, but so far I’ve got nothing. Communications up to orbit are being jammed, but with any luck me and my squads transponders should still be online. Agent Harbinger, signing off. [END OF LOG]
imagine being inside that AT-AT hearing your superior comanda yell "NO! NO!! PLEASE NO YOU SCUMBAG!!! DON'T YOU FREAKING DO IT!. DAMIT!!!" over the comes as a wooki steals one of the artillery walkers next to you
Admiral's Log Log 6 Bellator Dreadnought "Megador" My new flagship is ready, the Bellator. It truly dwarves the local defense fleet over Kuat. People won't leave me alone about it over my promotion and "having guns for brains" I won't the only leader in the fleet having a new ship, they've assigned me a fleet with an experimental layout of disablers, screeners, a stolen ship, and new ship that I cannot say We have begun to push the Rebels away from Kuat, on Commenor Trench Warfare has begun. So much defense that we could see it from Orbit. It's gonna be awhile until I receive news, though I have heard Command is sending in news units with a clone wars design I heard of a secret warship underconstruction as I left, nobody knows what it is, it better be worth the credits Over at Drunkenwel, the Black Sun made a move, one of the larger fleets we've seen and Command has been planning an assault, though all coms from the surface have gone silent, we might be too late, despite their fleet burning over the surface For now, I have my targets in the North: Iridonia, however, I wish to be in the south with all the action.
Commander Shed, representatives from Golan Arms would like to draw your attention to their Golan I platform, specifically noting they come equipped with additional living quarters as a standard feature, atop their nominal use as static weapons platforms. These stations may alleviate recent reports that Imperial Logistics Officers are having difficulty allocating sufficient housing units to various Imperial support personnel.
If you're committing to a space defense enough to buy upgrades, I suggest purchasing the shield/sensor upgrades as well. The line of sight boost is very helpful for any artillery ships, and especially for orbital turrets and Golan platforms, most of which have far better weapon range than line of sight.
Others have probably already mentioned it. but you own the planet Koensayr. which can produce ILH KK Citadel Gunships. you mentioned it last episode. dont know what they look like with this mod but i think they would be somewhat useful.
Part of the reason why you lost those transports in the first space battle is because you redirected some of them into the battle rather than around it. Don’t forget to rebuild the power generator on Lantilles. I would also build turbolaser towers to replace the loss of artillery walkers in its garrison
Shack, build Dark Troopers and Storm Commandos, then hit Ord Mantell with a raid and destroy the HV Gun, then absolutely wreck face with a fleet unopposed by that dang orbital gun
For the siege I’d recommend sniper units or storm commandos for getting eyes on the enemy units and artillery being covered by AT and suppression units aswell as ATST rocket cover for any ground vehicles
Log# 20: Lantelles. City defensive perimeter. 501st Legion: Gamma Squad. TK: 534 (Spc. Darro Keppen) Begin recording. When I heard that the Invasion of Comenor was finally launched my blood was boiling. The 501st lost a squad and a half already on that wild gundark chase the inquisition put us on. Gamma should have been their to finish the fight. But when the casualty figures came in I realized how much we dogged the proverbial blaster bolt. It was a snipe storm. The entire landing team got obliterated. Only a few squads made it out. And they barely put a dent in the enemy forces. Had we not been diverted already to assist with the defense of Lantelles we'd be on the casualty lists. Not to say things are great here. The Hapes may have been beaten back but they are still in orbit. Only a matter of time before they try again. And this time around we only have half the walkers and half the men. All we can do is continue to dig in and hope for the best. It's wrong of me to even think it, but I'm getting a little tired of the blunders of the high command. We're getting punched on all sides and even though planets like Comenor or Lantelles are minor worlds. These worlds add up. Hell, we're 501st! And here we are stuck on a minor mid rim world at half strength bunking with army regulars on a defensive line when we should be taking the fight to the enemy! We aren't losing; but we aren't winning either. Not like we were. Well, not like complaining helps much. Got to run another patrol, so I'll write again when I can. Maybe something interesting will happen and I'll write about that.
one of the best fleets for mid to late game is the arc hammer, SSD, and either vader or thrown. that’s what i use it’s massive firepower, more fighters and bombers than needed (and the wierd ones) and then the here for the boost.
Death squadron log: That damn itch, it's back. Reports are coming in of the failures the rest of the empire has suffered, all the while we are stack here on Malesteir, doing nothing, being nothing. Only the second fleet has achieved anything, which is an overstatement since all they've done is killing pirates and criminals, yet even this is better than what we have done. We were supposed to eliminate the black sun presence in the mid rim, this is the reason we didn't move further south, yet for whatever reason we are just sitting here, trying to find ways to kill time when we should be killing the enemy. At least it isn't as bad as it was other times. Naila has managed to keep me entertained, somehow, while the thought of her being safe has brought me some much needed calmness, again, I don't know why. One of my brethren giggled when I told him that, as well as two of Naila's friends. At least I'm not the only one mad on this ship.
artillery for the attack is good way to go, just load up plenty of infantry to hold the line and maybe some occupier tanks so you can put sensor nodes on them for the arty to see
Hey shack not sure if just a misspeak, but the Bellator actually has a fleet cost of 80 while dropping into a fight. The 20 in the top left corner is fleet power. Much love!
"Commenor... we knew the invasion would be tough, hence the indefinite blockade, but that place was a bloodbath! The invasion team had solid recon data of the drop site, but that didn't help in the end. It sounds like the new plan is an artillery assault, we'll see how that pans out. "Then there's the mid rim... pirates invaded Druckenwell, using weapons I'm pretty sure count as war crimes in any civilised society. A counter attack's already being planned out, a fleet is already on rout to retake the orbit. "We've been stationed over Malastare, monitoring rebel activity and planning invasions for a few weeks now. The campaign's... going... it's slow work as the rebels are thoroughly dug in around here and have demonstrated they are very effective in and around the outer rim. I've logged more hours of practice flights and combat sims this past week than I have in months!" Beady, feeling boredom consume him, cut his recording short and returned to his Tie for yet more practice. He needed _something_ to do whilst there was nothing to do.
For the commoner fight, make sure you don’t push too far in and slowly creep your new artillery forward. It has extremely high range. Your scouts also come with sensor pings I believe, which you can use to ping the enemy line and order artillery to fire on it
those flame troopers who took out your buildings on druckenwell come with the black sun hero so they're basically free. they have a sprint ability, a personal shield, and a cloak. that hero also gets a squad of t3 troops as body guards with similar abilities.
Shack for your space defense battles, consider purchasing ONE bonus from each column - the columns of upgrades mostly balance each other out so you pay a bunch of money for minimal benefit. Armament bonus grants extra damage, but less armor and armor bonus grants more armor but less damage. If you instead do sensor range (green) and armament (orange) instead of armament (orange) and armor (grey square) you'll get way higher damage and further sensor range, but with less armor and whatever the balancing factor is on the sensor range. Some combos are good for a mixed fleet...but don't just set it blindly, once you get your random fleet in make your choices based on that! Got a bunch of dreadnoughts? Go armor! Victory 1's? Sensor range! Victory 2's, disablers, or tectors? Damage!
Imp Rep 21 - Repairs to the Devastator have been extensive and slow, but the refreshers are fixed, which is a good thing. Though there isn't a lot of "good" news that has come out from other fronts. The Black Sun has become active and has taken Druckenwell. The reports indicate that their forces were greatly underestimated and was then overwhelmed by a horde of elite level droid units. They may have taken some losses, but they were of the weaker units and denied the garrison the room to take advantage of what they could do. The only good news is that the Byss fleet has secured one trade station form an independent faction and driven the Black Sun from the orbit of Druckenwell. Reports on what forces are to be committed to retaking Druckenwell have yet to be made. And some of that may be difficult, as forces in the Core were finally committed to taking Commenor. And there, the Rebels were well entrenched. Reports indicate that they had trenches and turrets going for miles, which heavily protected their ground forces and allowed the Wookie, Chewbacca to steal one of our artillery units. We still have the orbit of the world... but it would appear that this will be a major siege and will likely provide preview of what will be faced on other worlds like Ord Mantell. More stormtroopers and regulars are being raised along with stronger artillery units. This will take time... Particularly as Lord Vader's fleet will likely be drawn north toward Chardaan and then dealing with the Black Sun worlds to the west of it. - Ensign Iam Minion.
send all the artillery to commenor and show them what WW1 was like and why so many men who came back from that hellfest regretted every second of trench warfare, also show them why in WW1 the arty was king! so my advice is this shack send in all the long range death and make grid square rebel be not a thing! also capturing vaders daughter will probably garner you some major influence within the ISB and IFC!
Something that might want to be considered is that there are two choices of ATAT. These are set out like the British Romboid tanks of the First World War. The one that is being used is the support version (armed with a howitzer). The elite ATAT (built from a level 2 advanced factory) is for assaulting fortification and destroying vehicles. With the way the army is set out with the ATSTs in the support role, the elite ATAT is better fitted for the role in which you have it assigned. I think this would improve the balance of your army.
Shack, I'd recommend making a few Star Galleons, they aren't great at combat, but they are the Empire's version of the GR-75 HERO ship, which could keep your units around a bit longer. Also, the Archammer is mainly used to create Darktroopers (Phase 1, 2, and 3) The good news is that the Imperial Tagges got a buff in this update, they now use Skiprays instead of TIE Bombers, which is really good.
It really triggers my OCD with how messy and unorganized Shack is with his space slots in the galactic map. Having buildings floating in both the left and right slot, while having a unit in with one of them. Having espionage and spy units stacked together. Not having a consistent slot for fleets/armies/stations and just sticking them wherever, it drives me mad. 😫 I always keep fleets in the left, armies in the middle, and stations on the right. It keeps everything clear, clean, and tidy so I always know what's where and I don't have a station icon obscuring units, or ground mixed with space units. PS: Shack you do realize the only reason Ord Mantel is so dug in now is because when the game started it barely had anything, and you decided not to go for it, this giving them ample time to build defenses. You made it harder on yourself buddy.
Now that you have the Arc Hammer building, please, PLEASE, **PLREASE** keep it out of combat! It's a production ship for Dark Troopers, not a combat ship. It's meant to be your source of robot shooty and stabby boys, not a fleet anchor...it's barely able to serve as a defensive asset in defense of itself, and too valuable to have too near the front line.
I don’t think the Hapans can build a bigger ground force than what they threw at you on lantilles. They only have three planets and a limited station roster meaning they can’t expand their Pop cap
Honestly if you are worried about vehicles being stolen I would match them, infantry on infantry, highest tier you can manage with arty, and some rocket troops in the back in case Chewie waltz's through the line so they can quickly take it down if one gets capped by him, then support infantry to melt him. Or go with more air support, and have a fleet in orbit for bombardments and bombing runs. Not to mention a speeder company or two to go take one or both the two landing areas/rallypoints to the sides.
Shack I have two ideas for you in the next few episodes: 1. Take your fleet that you used to destroy the black sun fleet over Drunkenwell to take the Black Sun planets in the mid rim to secure your backline 2. Take the bellator and it's escort fleet to Iridonia and cause havoc up north to the black Sun and Rebellion alike or use it to free up General Veers and take the fight to Mandalore/Mon Cala or maybe the Hapes and try to see if you can built the Hapan Battle Dragons
As unintuitive as it sounds, taking a page out of the Iron Warriors playbook might be your best option with Commenor: A grinding siege. The new artillery units you're building will be essential, and getting the majority of them in the field will really help clear the trenches. This is implying their tactical usefulness. Frontline can go a few ways: My opinion is to have AT-AT walkers soaking up damage and deny Chewy any vehicle assets, plus the anti armor rounds are going to be needed to efficiently take out defensive emplacements. Or... We could go with your idea Cap'n, and have waves of T1/2 infantry as spotters for grid deletion. Honestly sounds more fun. Either way, you're probably going to have to bite the bullet and accept some high value casualties, but that's ok. Your economy is great, you're sitting on another Bellators' worth of credits, and you've already done your best in space. It's time to shift focus and use the expendability of Imperial troops to your advantage.
Artillery and air power for trench warfare. Bombard them and use your air power to scout targets. Keep your artillery in the LZ and guard them with the modular tanks with a repair platform and grenade launcher, a line of infantry and your AT-AT. If they rush your LZ hot drop infantry on them if you start losing units.
@TheXPGamers @Shack 21:01 you cant build multiple of the same production building on one planet unfortunately, I think this is the fastest you will build vehicles. You have to spread your production around for efficiency.

It's for the best honestly, it'd be a massive waste to not use it to deal with all the encroaching fleets of late. He's not doing so hot in this campaign so actually using a good ship for its purpose might help a bit. Maybe...

@Sp4rt4nSl4ya yep. But honestly Commenor was the biggest mistake. Shed lost way too many ground troops and will have to train more to replace them.
I love this idea! He’s relegated to ground support and invasion security 😂
No more glorious naval campaigns for him.
Shack did you quote Sharp? You lose the kings colours you lose the king’s friendship
It would make sense since Shed "came up from the ranks"
I was thinking the same - it did sound like a Sharpe reference
Field Agent Log:
Maj. [ERROR: Unauthorized Clearance]
Imperial Intelligence Agent “Harbinger”
After the better part of a year, command had finally approved the invasion of Commenor.

Admiral's Log
Log 6
Bellator Dreadnought "Megador"
My new flagship is ready, the Bellator. It truly dwarves the local defense fleet over Kuat. People won't leave me alone about it over my promotion and "having guns for brains"
I won't the only leader in the fleet having a new ship, they've assigned me a fleet with an experimental layout of disablers, screeners, a stolen ship, and new ship that I cannot say
We have begun to push the Rebels away from Kuat, on Commenor Trench Warfare has begun. So much defense that we could see it from Orbit. It's gonna be awhile until I receive news, though I have heard Command is sending in news units with a clone wars design
I heard of a secret warship underconstruction as I left, nobody knows what it is, it better be worth the credits
Over at Drunkenwel, the Black Sun made a move, one of the larger fleets we've seen and Command has been planning an assault, though all coms from the surface have gone silent, we might be too late, despite their fleet burning over the surface
For now, I have my targets in the North: Iridonia, however, I wish to be in the south with all the action.
The H6 is the ship you pilot in the Starfighter series. It's used by Nym. The special ability is that it has unlimited bombs. They recharge.
who ever ordered that first attack on Commenor needs a demotion
Was really bad.
Darro Keppen)
Begin recording.
Unfortunately Shack has already said he really doesn't want to build the SSD - considers it cheating / boring apparently
@@odinthewan the bellator is an SSD
42:00 congratulations you played yourself
I absolutely love the Ark hammer in this mod it's a great defensive ship
Death squadron log:
That damn itch, it's back. At least I'm not the only one mad on this ship.
artillery for the attack is good way to go, just load up plenty of infantry to hold the line and maybe some occupier tanks so you can put sensor nodes on them for the arty to see
"Incoming purple bullshit" is a great line.
Ooooh!!
A new Episode!!!!

13:35 that’s a simmerson reference from Sharpe
Your style is to push forward, you say? Now that's soldiering.
"then we pushed forward, that's my style sir"
just wait till he loses the emperors colors. Then things get fun
Hey shack not sure if just a misspeak, but the Bellator actually has a fleet cost of 80 while dropping into a fight. The 20 in the top left corner is fleet power. Much love!
love the sharpe reference
XPs Intro's could become a whole Audiobook. 😂
I've logged more hours of practice flights and combat sims this past week than I have in months!"
Beady, feeling boredom consume him, cut his recording short and returned to his Tie for yet more practice. He needed _something_ to do whilst there was nothing to do.
Those elite sun flame troopers melt buildings like butter!
Sean beans Sharpes Rifles series. (Ep2 sharpe Eagle)
Sir Henry Simmerson quote
I understood the reference
Shed...You lost the Emperor's Planet. So yes i got that reference
also! make a moffs palace and imperial palace to build heros! you get access to people like thrawn and a lot of ground heros too
Vader's off looking for remnants of the Jedi Order
Damage!
During the invasion of Commenor I was just screaming at my tv saying “JUST USE THE TIE STRIKERS!”
Love your 'episodes', just got the game again and reallly enjoying
It's okay I got the Sharpe reference
13:38 the Force ghost of Major Lennox looks on, grimly
Shack, I'd recommend making a few Star Galleons, they aren't great at combat, but they are the Empire's version of the GR-75 HERO ship, which could keep your units around a bit longer.
Also, the Archammer is mainly used to create Darktroopers (Phase 1, 2, and 3)
The good news is that the Imperial Tagges got a buff in this update, they now use Skiprays instead of TIE Bombers, which is really good.
13:35 a Sharpe reference I reckon. Possibly the dressing down of Sir Henry?
I was going to ask Shack if he'd lost the King's colours?
I love this series
I'd love to see some flame troopers in this game for the empire
they are also stealth so they can get behind and kill buildings.
I always keep fleets in the left, armies in the middle, and stations on the right.
Shack casually makes a Sharp reference. I see you Capn
13:36
Sharpe was pretty great, wasn't as keen on the books. Felt like Flashman without the humor.
Love the sharpe reference 13:34
I love when he loses, makes the video so much more interesting to watch.
Hey Shack! You don't need to un-pause the game to set a fleet lead. Love the Empire Campaign. I'm finishing up my own right now
Honestly if you are worried about vehicles being stolen I would match them, infantry on infantry, highest tier you can manage with arty, and some rocket troops in the back in case Chewie waltz's through the line so they can quickly take it down if one gets capped by him, then support infantry to melt him.
Or go with more air support, and have a fleet in orbit for bombardments and bombing runs. Not to mention a speeder company or two to go take one or both the two landing areas/rallypoints to the sides.
Shack I have two ideas for you in the next few episodes:
1. Take your fleet that you used to destroy the black sun fleet over Drunkenwell to take the Black Sun planets in the mid rim to secure your backline
2. Take the bellator and it's escort fleet to Iridonia and cause havoc up north to the black Sun and Rebellion alike or use it to free up General Veers and take the fight to Mandalore/Mon Cala or maybe the Hapes and try to see if you can built the Hapan Battle Dragons
At 21:50 the message says choose a hero to eliminate.
Shack: WHAT I CAN'T DO IT?
Reading is hard sometimes, it's ok.
Making a Sharpe reference...now that's soldiering
Good to see the Black Sun's newest Fair And Balanced Ground Units (tm) in action.
To go with the super ISD's, a crap ton of ton folks, gravity wells, and ion focused disablers.
Hey shack! You know you can get a strike aircraft with a heavy flamethrower excellent against swarms of infantry and buildings?
Invasion of Commenor in a nutshell:
Captain Shack: (taking off his leather glove and slapping Commenor with it) I challenge you to a duel.
Commenor: (picking an iron gauntlet smacking Captain Shack across the face with it, knocking him down) I accept!
Commenor would be insane with a shield, turbolaser towers and a level 3 factory as well.
All it needs is a mob of Tie fighters !
Use the tank that can build long range sensors on it and then use the boost in line of sight to outrange the enemy with artillery.
sir carida had been corrupted in the begining of the vid make more agents to counter and its time for intel make more probe droids sir vaders orders also make more pop cap for later on and some trade vessels
Commenor is setting for being the Siege of Vraks of this campaing. You should train shock troopers as elite in a sea of regulars.
That’s my style sir is a reference to Simmerson from Sharpe
The ground map for Commenor looks straight up like the Tobruk map from Battlefield 1942. In fact I'm like 90% sure this map is heavily based off Tobruk.
Shack that reference, was it by any chance sir Henry Simmerson from the Sharpe series? Specifically Sharpe’s Eagle episode? Haha
Gotta love how shack just blames Vader for everything
Shack: builds Bellator for core defence
also Shack: immediately send Bellator to the front lines
It's for the best honestly, it'd be a massive waste to not use it to deal with all the encroaching fleets of late. He's not doing so hot in this campaign so actually using a good ship for its purpose might help a bit. Maybe...
Someone else who thinks that it is very exciting when Shack actually loses/has some heavly losses in the battles?
The slaughter at Druckenwell
