Posted due to popular demand!
I wrote down the words to this song and had the pastor read them the day we buried our Son, He died the day he was born. So thankful for GOD'S AMAZING GRACE and a place called HOMELAND! Thank you ROGER for these words! They helped me through a very hard time. and now I know my Son is thanking you too, and so will I when I get to come to my HOMELAND!!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!!
This group was the best version of the Cathedrals ever. The sound they had can never be duplicated.
Homeland, and Roger singing. . .
Man, he's there right now. I'm sure he's still singing about it, too.
Roger was an absolutely amazing individual! I miss him soooo incredibly much. I'm so thankful that we'll get to go to that "Homeland" and see him again with all of our loved ones who have gone on before.
great song from a great group. Roger, George and Glenn are singing together in heaven now.
I could listen this on loop forever
Happy Heavenly birthday Roger Bennett, you would be 62 years old here on earth today.3/10/2021. See you soon dear friend.
Woke with this one on my mind. Brings tears to my eyes. George says, I tell you I like that! 😆 Miss him
Well roger is in the Homeland. We will see him and Anthony too and Hovie Lister! We shall see them again!
According to the Bible, no one is at the homeland yet!! One day they will be after the resurrection!!
This song featuring Roger Bennett is very special. He was a genuine gentleman and loved the Lord. Well, he is in Heaven now and I miss him. I know Daddy and James just moved a better place. I love you Daddy and James...I will see you one day....Gwen Weaver
When I first heard this song it touched my heart. I pray everyday that it will be my Homeland on the day I'm called from this life. Beautiful version.
God led me to this song once again after decades of not hearing it. Today is the 1 year anniversary of the passing of my father in law, and I’m so grateful I have the joy in hope of seeing him again forever in our new Homeland!
Roger, we still miss you!!
I'll miss you Grandma, thanks for waking me up
Thank you Joe‼️💯❤️
There's a city called homeland,
I can hear you calling me.
Oh my homeland,
oh how sweet it's gonna be.
Just to see you,
and to stand upon your shore.
You know I'll live there,
forever more.
Listen to my loved ones,
and how my tears did fall.
And though I tried,
I could not hide,
how it hurt to see them go.
But now I know that they left this world,
and just moved to a much better place.
and one day you will call me too,
I will see them face to face.
In that city called.
...
Growing up with these guys I always called Roger my "Bubba" and I really miss him with all my heart but like he says here I will get to see him face to face when the good Lord calls me home too. Cant wait for that day. Glory is going to be wonderful!
This is the third time I've watched this. What happened to Roger? He sure had one special voice! I watched this a couple days ago, and, got hooked!!!
@@suziboggus5206 he passed away many years ago from leukemia if I am correct
@@melodyshaw5877 Watching these video's. it seems they are still 20+ years old, instead of older. I do love listening to this group!! Thanks for replying.
This song DEFIANTLY needs to resurface!!!
Just did!
These are brothers in the Lord no stupid but God blessed folks beautiful song thank you it blessed me thanks for the uplifting song Praise God
keep on singing roger heaven or earth he was a good singer and a piano player they all are!!!!
In the 80's I went to see these guys often. What you see is what you got, at a concert. They weren't fake or put-on........ever!!!!! They were genuine, and the BEST!!!! I've personally talked with them on occasions, and was even invited out for pizza, by George Yance, himself.
Now that they're gone on to "That Homeland", I sincerely miss their lives, music, and voices!!
@Svoon V yes, I know that George Yantz loved pizza. He once even invited me out for pizza at Pizza Kings in Muncie, Indiana before!!🌝👍
LYRICS
There's a city called Homeland,
I can hear you calling me.
Oh, my Homeland,
Oh, how sweet it's gonna be.
Just to see you,
And to stand upon your shore.
And to know I'll live there,
Forever more.
You beckoned to my loved ones.
And how my tears did flow.
And though I tried I could not hide
How it hurt to see them go.
But now I know they left this world
And just moved to a better place,
And someday soon you will call me too,
And I will see them face to face.
It's that city called Homeland,
I can here you calling me.
Oh, my Homeland.
Oh how sweet it's gonna be,
Just to see you and to stand upon your shore,
And to know I'll live there forevermore!
Oh, there's a city called Homeland
I can hear you calling me.
Oh, my Homeland
Oh, how sweet it's gonna be.
Just to see you and to stand upon your shore,
And know I'll live there forevermore.
Oh, there's a city called Homeland
I can hear you calling me.
Oh, my Homeland. Oh, how sweet it's gonna be.
Just to see you, and to stand upon your shore,
And know I'll live there forevermore!
Just to see our Homeland!!!

Thanks for posting these clips from "Travelin' Live," which I think is probably the Cathedrals' best live recording. I have a copy of the tape but it's getting old, and I've never been able to find a CD or video of the concert. These videos are real treats.
I never heard this before, but what a message! Glory to God!
Yes I have a homeland in heaven.
Love it
I have the cassette of this exact concert! It feels like I went back in time to my childhood.

A true man of GOD
Lo mejor quarteto que ya existió!
I'm ready for my Homeland
This song was one of the 1st song I heard of the CATHEDRALS, WAY BACK in the 80's I LOVED Danny Funderburk's CLEAR TENOR VOICE ! Tenor w/o being High Pitched, a la Brian Free of GOLD CITY ! This was NO BAD CRITIQUE of Brian Free, , Just his voice is Different, but GOOD Nonetheless !

I have failed to findthis song on both google play and itunes!
you can get this song also by the booth brothers on itunes and it sounds almost as good as the original
I saw Gerald Wolfe doing this solo...
Roger does it a little strange... I guess, because, he´s a Tenor Singer, not a lead, either a baritone...
@hawver1013 Never missed a beat though. They should have hired Vic and his guys after this concert!
4 pessoas são amarguradas kkkkkk! Cathedrals the best !
Your grandmother died and now they are in heaven? Did you get saved? or( Grandmother )went went to heaven? THE LAST QUESTION YES?That is very good news and I know you'll miss her.
