    The 2A one of the most important amendments of the US constitutional republic. Our 2A rights protect us against Governmental overreach. We’ve far surpassed that long ago. “We must protect our democracy” means say goodbye to our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC and all of our rights that go with it.
    Be safe. Be reasonable. Be knowledgeable.

      A lot of people don't have guns due to having their rights stolen from them unconstitutionally for having no criminal record. Based on false allegations made by other people, they lose their gun rights for life. It costs $30k-$100k for a mere chance to possibly reverse it. How would this city as it were enforce their law to own guns if your legally not allowed to for having done nothing wrong?

      Not a single individual citizen can ever stand up to the government no matter how much firepower they carry.
      An organized militia is necessary. There needs to be organization and collectivism. You cannot go at it alone.
      That's something a lot of 2A advocates seem to miss. WE NEED TO ORGANIZE... and no, the NRA doesn't count...

    Now THIS is reporting and journalism. Not once did Tyler inject his own views or opinions into the video or onto the people he was talking to, nor is he looking to argue. He's asking questions and letting people speak and be heard. We need more of this and far, far less "news" hosts telling us what to think and how to feel.

      So would you agree that it should be a choice? If one wants to be responsible and own a firearm they can. If one chooses not to, they can choose not to.
      But it is a constitutional right. So it can’t be taken away per the rights of the republic. As long as everyone agrees. I’m good with that. But the moment someone says, no you can’t do that even though it’s your right. Yea that’s not good.

    I’m a 5’4 127 pound woman who owns two AR15 rifles and i absolutely love them. I used to be an anti gunner until a family friend and his 88 year old mother were broken into and she was assaulted by the offender. I chose to be responsible for my own safety and never put my trust in someone else when seconds count and they are minutes away.

  • @tylera.2869
    @tylera.2869 Рік тому +5178

    I used to be anti gun. Met a guy that ended up being my best friend. He was a "gun nut". We had several debates over the issue. He eventually convinced me to go shoot with him. I got scolded so many times for poor gun etiquette. It was embarrassing & made me never want to go with him again. In time I realized that I only got scolded because I was being dangerous. I learned that gun owners typically respect guns & their dangers more than anyone else. My stance has now changed. There are so many things in this world that can kill. Guns are the great equalizer. I now recommend everyone to have at least one gun & carry it whenever possible. You never know when evil will attempt to harm you. The most important thing is to train with these tools. If you don't they can harm you.
    Now that I live out in the country I feel bad for my previous stance. Bear & cougar roam near my land. I'd never harm anything unless I had to defend my family or animals, but I'm glad I have the ability to defend them. If someone came out here meaning to do harm, it would take at least 10 minutes for a police response. I need a gun for protection of my family in that case. Now I own several guns & see the necessity of being able to defend yourself. Without guns someone could come up here & put us thru hell. Even if I could get a call off to police, that response time means we could be dead & they'd be gone before help arrived.
    Now I know my anti gun stance was based out of ignorance, which is a hard pill to swallow. I just wish more people would take the time to learn the importance of the 2nd ammendment.

    • @Standforwhatsright33
      @Standforwhatsright33 Рік тому +297

      My strongest opinion is to learn. Once you become a victim, you realize how important it is to own. Especially when law enforcement doesn't arrive for 15-45 minutes. The first time for me was the last. Also helps if you study your family tree and you descend from patriots. Compare your life and age to theirs and imagine how bad it was under British rule that they risked treason.

    I love this! Former resident of Kennesaw and former member of Gov's Gun Club. Like its said, no one inforces the law. But its a good law to follow considering some fairly dangerous areas nearby, and the fact that the crime branches out. A few months ago, there was, at a very nice golf course, very close to the areas he was in, a double homicide. This involved a cartel agent assisinating someone who was an issue one evening on the golf course. A worker happened to be near and investigated. This resulted in the worker then being killed as well.

    Top tip: Never ask a gun owner/collector to just "show you a few of his guns"...
    ...they will underplay their interest at first, but little do you know once they have you you are there for a 2 hour tour of their collection, historical lessons on every possible era imaginable, you will hear lists and lists of random numbers and letters that have absolutely no meaning to you. That year break in and home intrusions dropped by 90%. Facts. It does not have to be enforced it is still up to the homeowner to make the decision to own a firearm. A lot of these people are unhappy because of the government not assuring its’ people that things are being done, and that is what gives them fear and hate. My great grampas friend brought a .22 to school so he could shoot ‘rabbits and such’ on the walk home. The teacher took it, and beat his ass. He then went home, got his ass beat by his mom and then his dad came by the next day and took it back home. While I do full heartedly agree any firearm owner must get some form of training in, be it commercially available or just you going to the range and figuring it out (preferably commercially available), I am hesitant to make it a government mandated thing at the same time because they tend to fuck up everything they touch. Also if it's a government mandated training from a government facility they can set the price and can easily make it high and force people to not attend due to not being able to afford the training. They can then also argue that everyone has the ability own a firearm so it's not a violation of the 2nd amendment but is a "soft" ban at the same time.

You also need to prove you have a safe or locker to store your firearms in when not in use, or else that you're keeping them at a range.
      The training course is done in person, they walk you through like ... care, storage, responsible use different ammo types and compatibility. Basic operation like how a lever action works, where a safety is and what it does, how to handle a jammed bolt safely, that sort of thing. The whole thing takes about 8 hours, and then there's a written and practical test. None of it is particularly difficult or intense, the biggest purpose I've found is to weed out the people who want to buy a gun on a whim, or who aren't responsible or patient enough to actually sign up for and do the course.
      That, and people say moving to the country for the first time at 50, never handled a gun, and decide to go hunting. There is no such thing as a "assault weapon." The closest thing to that would be automatic versions of weapons like the AK-47, or the M16A1, which can fire automatic or semi-automatically.
      If anything, the current reason the AR-15 is considered a "assault weapon" is because it's scary, nearly fully black exterior.

    Just an add-on tidbit regarding the AR (Armalite Rifle); it was originally designed in 1959 and intended for civilians use. Wasn't until Colt bought the patent that it got turned into a military rifle in the form of the M16. The more you know

    • @soul0360

      Common misconception.
      AR are actually just the two first letters in Armalite.
      You do know, that they also made Handguns, right.
      Apart from this, the rest checks out, as far as I know.

    • @reedpratt1985
      @reedpratt1985 Рік тому +11

      If you go on Armalite's website, as well as a plethora of other sources, you'll see that this is not accurate. Armalite originally designed the AR-10 with the help of military specialists to use the 7.62 cartridge, intended for military trials. They entered the trials late, weren't selected, but were encouraged by the military to make a smaller caliber lighter gun that could hold more ammunition for infantrymen. That rifle eventually became known as the AR-15, which was once again entered in military trials, but once again failed to the m14. Armalite did end up selling a small quantity on the civillian market after their rejection but was ultimately picked up by the military. However, Armalite lacked the production scale to manufacture the guns for the US military and as a result sold the design to colt, who ended up renaming it the m16. So the AR-15 was never, at any point, designed with civilians in mind. I don't say this to make a political statement regarding gun control, merely to encourage you to properly research before asserting false statements online.

But one thing is certain, and it's proven everywhere: if firearms are outlawed, the law abiding will not have firearms but criminals will still have them. There are ways to counteract this, by very severely punishing the criminal use of firearms, but if this is done then there's little reason to disarm the law abiding.

      2A was not ratified to take out the government...your government, but it was insisted upon by the People and the States before they would ratify the US Constitution. Notice it is not in the Constitution...but added....so the original George Washington convention didn't think it was necessary.
      2A is worded as a chicken and egg proposition. The Militia is needed to defend The Republic (and all parts of the Republic such as your nation, state, county, town, home or person) so...The People must be able to own and bear their own arms....to be able to act as a proper militia in times of need.
      The Declaration of Independence is the document that talks about the legal obligation to be able to take up arms against the sitting government if that government is counter to the well being of The People...such as they claimed the Royal Governors national guards and UK Regulars were in 1776.
      So my advice to 2A proponents is to not lead off your debate with possibly shooting the government. That only makes your anti gun audience even more dead set against you. Start off with the positives of such arms in peace or in times of foreign or terrorist attack. Bring up the people of Israel last month or of Ukraine in 21...those unarmed with only an ability to run or be killed...vs....those ready to slow down Putin or Hamas on day 1.

      I agree. I literally have no issues with people having guns. Any guns. But why are states so against more screenings, waiting periods, maybe even mandatory training. You can have all that and still honour the second amendment. As the gun guy in this video, Mike said a lot of the gun violence has to do with mental illness and pharmaceutical drugs, which I agree, but then why not make a law that people who are on these drugs can’t own guns? I also don’t think the whole “ if people can’t buy guns legally they’ll just do it illegally” is not a good enough argument since most mass shooters are not carrying out their shootings with illegal weapons. People are lazy and the harder you make it to own a gun the easier it is for them to give up and not have one. I personally don’t think that mentally ill shooters have the patience to wait for a gun or take training or even try to get a gun illegally since many of these types are shy and without connections. If you think I’m wrong, let me know. I’m all about learning and taking in different perspectives.

      AR15 stands for armalite 15, thats the company 15 the model number. it does not stand for assault rifle or for automatic rifle.
      The Term Assaultrifle is also missleading. It doesnt mean its extra special dangerous. It was invented by the Germans along with a very propagandistic name.
      it was a new type of gun of SMALLER caliber than other infatry weapons. the idea was using a less powerfull and lighter round allows soldiers to carry more ammo.
      the idea behind this was more ammo means more able to lay down supression fire (only roughly aimed) to allow retreat or assault (you shoot enemy takes cover you can move type of deal) ofc full auto ability is nessesary for that.
      however in terms of killing things full auto isnt even really useful in most situations. the military usually only fires in semi automatic. only in very close combat they might use full auto for actual target shot. any distance over 25m is usually just supression fire in full auto. recoil is simply to much to be of any use to be more "deadly" and you chew trough way to much ammo. a 30 round mag is gone in about 3 seconds. so if anything your friendly masshooter might even get less victims with a full auto gun because he runs out of ammo real fast
      only on mounted guns full auto becomes a real thing

      It’s just like a gun: you need to be responsible and operate it safely.
      Private flying has a lower rate of accidents than cars, and actually a much lower rate of fatality.
      Unlike driving though there’s a lot of ways to minimize accidents: going through your checklist, making sure your plane is properly maintained, only flying when it’s safe, and monitoring weather.
      Unfortunately, it’s often people who get into unsafe habits that get into trouble. Or treat flying too cavalier and start to become lax in their safety checks. When you do operate in a safety mindset (eg: don’t fly if there’s something wrong), it’s extremely rare to have an accident. The big jets that airlines fly are FAR more complex and prone to failure than a tiny plane, and yet they are incredibly safe because of all the money in maintenance and safety training.
      Most accidents are also much safer to handle than people think. So long as you got a runway within your vicinity and control of your aircraft, you will walk away unharmed. It’s very rare with safety mindset to have a situation that’s even close to dangerous. Even if you lose an engine.
      Those planes are built incredibly well. Even Cessnas that are 60 years old are very safe when maintained.
      Also single engine pistons actually weight less than 4000lbs…more like 1700. The Cessnas I fly can’t even get lift with much weight.
