- In this video, I show you guys a few examples of succulents that got different forms of succulent sunburn during a heatwave in my Garden. Succulent sunburn does not always just burn succulent leaves, but can sometimes turn them into mush as well, and completely killing the succulent if not caught early. I share some tips on how to prevent this so you guys don't make the same mistake as I do. #succulentsunburn #echeveria

Awww sunburn. We really experience that with our plants at some point or another.
Yes, it's always bound to happen to some of succulents while acclimating. I just never experienced it to where it got so hot, that it actually cooked the plant leaves from its own water stores! 😅 We had a really bad heat wave that day.

It's just been so hot lately that's why. Now we're expecting a few days of rain again so I think the succulents will be happy. Hopefully 😅

When it rains and then the sun comes out, the plants seem to cook, so I think we have to be careful with the rain during the day~~^^
Yes I've noticed that too. Maybe because when the soil is wet and then it gets hot, it produces a steaming effect on the roots. That's what may have happened to my string of turtles... 🤔
I do burn some of my succulents plant too, trying to acclimate to the morning sun then I forgot totally lol
Me too! Sometimes I forget to move them and they end up being in the sun too long. I guess it's what happens when we have so many. 😅
What were the temps in your area that caused the decline. This video is unreal... very eye opening!!!!!!!
The day they got the bad burns, the temperature went up to about 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It didn't help that there was no breeze either and the peach pride was still acclimating to sunlight. 😕
It's also happens to my 2 E. Imbricatas after I introduced them both on the morning sun for 3 weeks then after it both of them didn't thrive because no sign of any root growth & their leaves turned yellow even I water them a little bit once a week. 🥺😔

I struggle with imbricatas too Jam. 😕 I've noticed they are prone to rot in humid and hot conditions. They actually prefer cooler dry weather unless they are very well establish and fully acclimated to their environment. It's better to keep them under a shadecloth to keep them cool instead of direct sunlight in tropical conditions.
@@TheseSucculentBuddies Agreed Ma'am Christine 😔 I bought 3 Imbricatas from Baguio, 2 of them died because their leaves turned yellow while the only one I have rn is thriving & producing some pops even it has thin leaves 🙂 Ty for the response 💕

That's basically what I experienced in most of my succulents. The roots dried up due to intense heat. 37-39⁰C (heat intext in the mid 40s). I have around 10 succulents that experieced it.
Aww... you too 😓 it's been very hot and humid lately and my succulents are pretty used to it. But one day, there was just a really bad heat wave and they either got burned or turned to mush in a matter of hours! Did you catch yours on time to save them?

I jus planted cuttings and some with roots on the ground. Should I water right away? Also, How often

As for the rooted ones, you can water right away if they are matured rooted succulents. Although if just planted, you want to keep them protected and shaded if the weather is been too hot.
Hi? Friend♥ It's too hot in Korea, so there are a lot of succulents that burn in the sun. I knew there was a medicine in the disinfectant to prevent sunburn!! So, plants are always experimenting with it. Take care of your health in hot weather.♥♥

@@TheseSucculentBuddies Ah... They sell antiseptic drugs, but I can't verify them because I deleted all the drug names. The antiseptic medicine says it prevents sunburn. Of course, it's not for succulents, it's for vegetables. 😅 When I go to a place that sells it, I'll upload it to a video.♥♥
