I’ve been engaged for 7 yrs 😂 I’m..not into the stressful planning or being the center..one could say. BUT I’m very glad y’all are already on that because I can’t wait to see how your wedding turns out! I wonder if my internet blackhole the last like..3.5yrs is also why we’re “stuck”. Buuut we both have health issues, money issues, and two kids. So..there’s all that too. Plus, we’re happy regardless. If we were financially sound, we would’ve been married 6.5yrs age tbh!
Why don't you take the pressure off yourself and just get married in a backyard ceremony or elope with your close family involved? Don't put too much pressure on yourself, getting married is a fun thing to do

You don't have to feel pressured to start planning a wedding, unless you want to get married soon.
You can take your time enjoying being fiancées and start planning whenever you feel like it.

Here for the wedding planning content! I hope you continue to share it with us. As someone who’s also newly engaged and planning a wedding for next year, I’m right there with you. The first month or so was so stressful selecting the venue and vendors. But so much fun! Enjoy!

September 2022 bride! Just remember when choosing your guest list, consider your catering because it could be anyway from 50 and up per person.
I’m not sure if you trying to be budget friendly but just a tip!
My venue had catering options to choose from so it wasn’t too hard to pick a cater and ours is 8000 dollars for 100 person wedding
I highly recommend getting a planner or a coordinator, you can still do lots of planning it just takes the stress off of you guys and especially on your day you can just enjoy!
Look at planners, venue, catering florist and entertainment, the rest will fall into place!
Pinterest is the best for getting inspiration for theme and decor!
I’m also a huge fan of wedding TikTok lol I can’t stop, it’s the best!!

Omg so exciting! I remember when me and my wife were still planning our destination wedding (my home country) while we are in the US- it was so stressful yet so fun 😂 It is still not legal for same sex couples to get married in our country but we did it just to celebrate our love with our family and friends. Everything turned out great and beautiful. Weeks after our wedding, the volcano in the area where we had our wedding sadly erupted and then pandemic hit so we’re really thankful that we were able to do our wedding before all the chaos.
We had 150 guests, rustic theme. We mostly splurged with our wedding videographer but still considerably cheaper than the price here in the US and I am glad we did. No regrets.

I know this is random but I kind of want to put it out there to anyone who needs to hear this: You don't need to go to therapy, even if you can afford it!
I felt for a long time that I had to go to therapy and eventually I went and I understand how it can be good and it has a positive side but I don't think it's better than going for a run, having out with friends or meditating. I have depression and I still think it's not better than these other things. So while it can be good, it isn't necessarily better than other activities that are putting you in touch with yourself.
In the Netherlands we have a tradition of a "master of ceremony", kinda like a wedding planner but often a friend or sibling and not someone hired. I'm not sure but more emphasis on assisting / directing the day itself you the couple doesn't have stress (as much). Some brides already know exactly what they want, others like help with decisions or just bounce of ideas. I guess you could even have two, like a separate one for a venue if you have a big reception.
An option would be to have two guest events, one reception for like everyone who wants to come and one intimate evening event for a small group of family and very close friends. It might be nice for you to have a separate big event for all the vlogging (of you and of the guests!), the "UA-cam side" of your life and keep the other part to yourself. You might even have a planned vlogging hour (do you have the tradition of guests do sketches?) and keep the rest of the reception video free.
What are your ideas on that?
