    Rule of thumb
A Bible that’s old and falling apart is a sign of someone who isn’t falling apart
That’s a nice Bible even if it is old and not the best is still your personal journey with Jesus.
    Treat it as such
God bless you my friend and sister in Christ

I think it is pretty common among Christians who have been Christians for any length of time.. to gravitate toward a bible that is their favorite bible.. I had one I used for about 20 years myself... but about 3 years ago.. I started using a different bible ...one that I had owned for years.. but it just got sort of :shelved".. and only looked at occasionally.. now that over looked bible is my everyday bible...
I have a story similar to your car/bible incident..
I had recently got the bible that I had used for 20 years.. re bound.. I had it re bound about 3 months after I bought it... because it came with a bonded leather cover... and I am Not fond of those because.. I have had many flake apart.. and start cracking... but I really liked this bible.. so I decided to have it rebound in a real soft genuine leather binding... the cover feels silky smooth....!.. well to make a long story short..
I took a trip once about a year after I had this bible rebound.. and when we got home we were all so exhausted.. we left our things in the car trunk until the next day... and the temperature was around 100 degrees...
my heart sank when I opened up the trunk and saw my beautiful bible's cover.. was all shriveled.. like a wrinkly old person..I thought this cover was totally ruined...
then I got the idea to try to iron the wrinkles out!.. I mean this was REAL Leather.. so I thought it should be fairly tough... so I used the wife's Iron and a little steam.. and ran it across the front and back covers.. a couple of swipes.... and the wrinkles DID come out..
    thank God for genuine leather...!..

Me... myself... I have been using the Dake's study bible for about 2 years now... there are MANY great bibles out there
many would Not care for a Dake's study bible .. He is very opinionated.. Pentacostal..and believes in the gap theory and I think he is an amillennialist
so if one reads thru his bible they have to over look things they do not agree with... but I have found that regarding every study bible.. no matter how conservative.. the editor is.. many don't like the Scofield bible because he...like Dake... is a dispensationalist...
I used the Thomas Nelson King James Study bible for several years.. the one that is being published now.. is very exquisite.. with color illustrated maps throughout
If I could only have One bible it would be between the Dake's one or That one..
but I am kind of a KJV Onlyist... if you don't mind the modern translations.. Zondervan publishes quite a range of various study bibles.. and the ESV Crossway study bible .. is considered one of the best in the line of ESV translations..
everyone's preferences are different even mine have changed over the years... I used to prefer red lettered bibles.. but nowadays.. I don't really car.. I used to prefer thumb indexed.. but now.. I don't..
the key is.... to find one bible that YOU will enjoy reading... and when you aren't reading it... you will be thinking about reading it and will be longing to read it...... that is the bible for you...

There’s nothing wrong with thinking there is a perfect word of God, that’s right thinking. They all do not say the same things so obviously they are not all right. God Almighty puts a great premium on His word Psalm 138:2 KJV. 😊 so where is it? Please ask yourself and pray about that question. If you don’t have the perfect word of God then you have nothing to stand on

    • @Mike_W78

@@ThePreachersDaughterKJV1611 the perfect word doesnt exist anymore. Only the originals would be that. The KJV has errors. Its still a great translation but its definitely not perfect. I prefer thr NASB. Its not perfect either but its one of the most accurate English translations. I also read it in the Greek.

It is sad that you receive the word of God as the words of men (1 Thess 2:13) instead of the LIVING Words of God that He promised is alive today (1 Peter 1:23). It is an error to think the perfect Word of God is only the originals- the scripture spoke to Pharaoh (Rom 9:17) before anything was even written. The Words of God are eternal (Psalm 119:89) and God said He would preserve them for ever (Psalm 12:6-7). The first attack of Satan was on God's Words and it is his favorite attack today. Praying you come to the place you believe what God said over the "scholars" you listen to. But mostly, defending my sister in Christ that is lifting up the Words God magnifies above His own name (Psalm 138:2), the very tool He used to bring us the gospel message to be believe in order to be saved. His Word is our authority of truth- it is living and powerful (Heb 4:12) when you have it, read it, allow it to read you (Gal 3:8) and guide you (Psalm 119:105). Those same promises are not given in a corrupted counterfeit (2 Cor 2:17) from men who also didn't believe there was a living, perfect final authority. When you do learn and believe God has a perfect Bible for us today in the KJV, it is THEN you can rest on the promise of those Words effectually working in you (1 Thess 2:13). The version you prefer says it is HARD to get into heaven in Mark 10:24 when it isn't. There is simplicity in Christ (2 Cor 11:3); the KJV doesn't have one corruption like that (or the many others in the NASB you "prefer"). Until you get ahold of the very Book God magnifies above His own name, you will never have a final authority you can trust in- because it is the only one on earth.

@@proof4faith you think the kjv is above gods name. Thats blasphemy and shows that you worship the KJV not God. Sorry foe you being so lost.

    • @proof4faith
      @proof4faith 6 місяців тому +1

@Warbeast78 read the verse. God magnifies His word above His own name. I'm not interested in arguing. You started conflict, and I corrected you with the truth. You're calling a verse blashpemy without reading it, but when a person sees that Bible as mens words- it won't work in them the way it does for a person that trusts God preserved His words. The seed is planted, and that's all i can do - given your lack of belief in God having a perfect Bible today. Prayed for you. I hope the Lord helps you out.

*The King James Bible **_was_** at one time a literary masterpiece without blemish. What I mean is there were no spelling, grammar or punctuation errors in it. I have a short film in my playlist on how that was acheived. Now, they're on every page! And there are MANY word switches too! Satan has **_supernaturally_** attacked it more than any other translation, but all of them in every language have been destroyed in the fulfillment of prophecy! Plus all concordances, encyclopedias, dictionaries, history books, the oldest manuscripts and the Dead Sea scrolls have been miraculously changed to match!*
*Not every word, Satan is too smart for that and he understands that rats won't eat pure poison so .05% is added to 99.95% corn. The rats love it because they can't taste the poison ... and perish for lack of knowlege! If you ever needed to obey God's commandment to ''prove all things'' and investigate something, this is it!!!*
*Our Father said to "prove all things" and you better obey Him on this thing especially. I have an exceptional memory, I remember my third birthday party and can draw an accurate picture of my baby stroller. I'm 70, was saved when I was 10 and **_had been_** reading only the **_exact same copy_** of the King James bible since 1961. (I am not a king James onlyist, but now I'm glad I never read any others or I might not have noticed the changes as soon.) I memorized many scriptures out of it over the years and I absolutely **_know_** that the word **_demons_** used to be all through it. But today that word is not anywhere in there! It was replaced with **_devils._** And the only place I've ever read the word **_wineskins_** was in my bible, but it's not in it any more either. It was replaced with **_bottles._** And now **_unicorns, easter, matrix, castles, damsels, stuff, corn, colleges, banks, employment, schools, missles, tires, mufflers, manifolds, engines, highways, suburbs, pavement, presidents, doctors, pilots, sheriffs, beer, dumb ass, India, Spain, Italy, ferryboats, couches_** and lots of other words are in my bible that I never saw in it my whole life! Many of these words are anachronisms (they didn't even exist in 1611!) It never talked about men with milk in their breasts or fathers nursing babies either, but now it does! Isaiah 11:6 used to say the **_lion_** shall lie down with the lamb, not the **_wolf_** shall also dwell with the lamb! Lion represents Jesus and wolf is associated with Satan! There are 15 films in my playlist will show you plenty of undeniable "residue" showing that ''wolf'' has replaced "Lion". (Residue is what they call all the things Satan missed as he was changing our world.) Luke 17:34 used to say "two shall be in one bed, one shall be taken and the other one left", but now it says "two **_men_** shall be in one bed.......! And the following verse said "two women shall be grinding at the mill together......" and now it just says "two women shall be **_grinding together_** ......! So now the bible makes it sound like some homosexuals are going to be ''raptured"! BTW **_nobody's going to be "raptured" until after the tribulation. The Wrath of God follows._*
But *this is the BIGGIE,* in Luke 19:27 it has Jesus saying "And those mine enemies that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither and *SLAY THEM BEFORE ME!"* It did say _eshew_ them away! This change makes Christians sound like radical extremists!! *Millions of Christians will be killed because of this verse!!!* And I know that this is a parable, but the king Jesus was talking about was Himself, the King of Kings! The film titled *Satan's Agents and Doctrines of Demons* which is in my playlist is just about this verse, and is the most important video most of you have ever seen. (It has Chuck Missler and Chuck Lawson in it!)
*I memorized the Lord's prayer as a boy because Jesus told us to say it, and I have said it tens of thousands of times, and it absolutely did not say **_which_** art in heaven, it said **_who_** art in heaven, it didn't say **_in earth,_** it was **_on earth._** And it now says forgive us our **_debts_** instead of our **_trespasses!!!_*
*God has sent His strong delusion to all of the people that never received the love of the truth! What's scary is, so far that appears to be almost all believers! This incredible phenomenon they're calling the Mandela effect is absolutely real, but it should actually be called the Daniel 7:25 effect because that's where God said He would give the Antichrist power to do this, (''change times and laws''). I first became aware of some of the bible changes in 2014 before I ever had a computer or had heard of the Mandela effect. But since 2016 I've watched many hundreds of videos on the subject, and saved some of the best and most important ones for proving your bible has been changed and pointing out all the places this was talked about in end time prophecies that we had previously misinterpreted in my playlist which you can see by 👉 typing into UA-cam (PROOF OF BIBLE CHANGE RESIDUE JUNKIE)* 👈
    ua-cam.com/play/PLOTw4zBND_NPf66nKUONLoe2MNFLb5LQr.html
*By the time you have seen all these films which point out all the misinterpreted prophecies being fulfilled **_supernaturally_** you will have grown MUCH closer to Jesus the never changing Word of God and your faith will be 1,000% stronger ... GUARANTEED!!!!!!!*
*Even though I will no longer read any bible, (unless Jesus changes them back), I continue to study what God's word said by seeing what scriptures have been changed with proof of what was originally written. I urge you all to do the same, while you still can, because when the lights go out, all we'll have then is hard copies of the bible Satan wants us reading! At that point Amos **8:12** will be fulfilled where it says we will no longer be able to find His words anywhere again.*
*This is without question the biggest and most important event since the day of Pentecost! When you see absolute proof that the miraculous fulfillment of end time prophecies are happening with your own eyes, and how close we are to our Savior's return, it's the most faith strengthening and exciting thing that you've ever experienced!*
    *God bless you all!!!* ❤✝️💪🏻

There may be people who are new to reading the Bible and so are not at all familiar with the Elizabethan style English used in the KJV. That doesn't make them stupid or dumb and I think you should be careful how you say things because it could be very hurtful to some people. God bless.

She didn't say one thing with the intention to hurt anyone. There are roughly 50 words a person may need to look up in an 1828 dictionary- free online- to help them understand the KJV Bible. It is a lie told to you that it is too difficult for anyone to understand. In addition, it is the true Words of God, which the Holy Spirit will guide a person to understanding. The Bible is a living book that is designed to hurt at times to help us grow. Our job is to teach the truth and let the Lord use that truth the way He sees fit. If truth doesn't line up with our desires or preference- it is us that need to align with the truth, rather than holding back the truth not to disturb what people want or feel is right. After all, every way of man is right in his own eyes (Proverbs 21:2), the Lord is looking at the heart and will guide anyone wanting to find and follow the truth.
