Yess talk thrifty to me!! I would have bought all the crochet afghans. I loved the blue granny afghan! I'm a sucker for anything Granny! The bag of zippers?! I mean c'mon *insert chef's kiss!* you can never have enough pockets or zippers!
And if you are old like me, Every Tuesday you can get 30% off EVERYTHING (age 55 and older). Early winter I hit the jackpot. I was making cowls for the homeless, and they had a quite a few Caron Cakes Chunky (almost all were full cakes) for $2.99 each. (Can't remember if it was a Tuesday if so, I paid like $2 each) I especially needed some darker colors (grays and browns). There were some bright colors in there too. I got almost all of them, and I made quite a few cowls from that one Saver's haul.
My savers rarely has much yarn. I would have definitely grabbed the bag with the classic elite yarn. The bag with the sparkly white yarns was nice too.
I have a resale shop called Damascus House. They always have great craft finds. Including yarn. When I purchase I know it's going to a great cause. Benefits people that are getting back on their feet from addiction and such. I would have so grabbed all that cotton from both stores, I use alot of cotton.
I love Savers! We have one in the Rochester NY area. I use to live in the same town as the store and would be in there at least 2 or 3 times a a month. Since moving, I now have to drive 30 minutes so don’t go any more. But all the times I did go, I never ever found yarn in there.
I check for yarn at Savers and Goodwill. Their yarn prices seem to have gone up so much lately, though. My local Goodwill had several bags of yarn with two skeins each for $6.99 - I'll go back in a few weeks when that tag color is 50% off and see if they're still available.
Ive only found a couple skeins of yarns in 5 years - last week i found 3 skeins of rsd with 3 skeins of green tog for $5 - at checkout she showed me a xlarge tote FULL for $35 - i use knitting machine n50% is 3 weight but its all high dollar so tensions gotta b tight !!
I was taught to smell the yarn before purchasing from a thrift store....anything that smells like pet, tobacco, heavy perfume, or something suspicious should not be bought! The smell cannot be washed out and the yarn can't be used for gifts, home goods, etc. Thoughts?

Savors sounds like Ollie’s as far as the coupons and percentages off. We don’t have Savors here in Texas
Our thrift stores may or may not have yarn and sometimes they are over priced. I wish we had a Savers.
