There's a lot of them out there - this setup worked for my camera, but different cameras, and different uses need different lengths, so I recommend a coiled cable. amzn.to/4cePSeV
I see the biggest issue with these tiny mics being the dual mono. When used on two people at the same time and mixed down to dual mono, you're going to get all the cough/wind/breathing noise from one mic ported into the 2nd channel, meaning you can't unmix what was pre-mixed. You can also get phase cancellation if they are close enough. YC Onion should give you that mixdown as an option, but not a default.
If post production is needed, then I agree that split tracks would be preferred. But for a live show, you actually do want the two channels mixxd into dual mono.
Is the mic element directional or omni directional? Also how would it be for a vocal mic on a singer? Not sure I have a use case for it at my job but it could have some potential in a church setting if it could be used for vocals.
Great review!
Ok Way too cool! Will be picking up and adding to my kit.
Cool!
Can you advise the brand and where I can purchase the short 3.5 mm TRS cable?? Thanks!
