The purple USB device is called CP2112. You can buy it on amazon, aliexpress or ebay

This was very helpful - you had a few extra steps compared to the instructions included with the DJI Battery Killer download. Specifically to 'reset chip' and an additional 'unseal' between writing 0024 and 0029. Not clear if this is critical as I followed your instructions but appreciate how thorough you were and including the schematic with visual references on the board as my battery is OEM but old and did not have silk screen to indicate which pad had which function :)

Your video presentation has been exactly what I was looking for. I did a lot of research on what I could do with my Mavic1 battery that had gone into a fully drained condition. I used a 2 amp car battery charger to kick start the voltage then my LiPo battery charger to finish the charge. The only major error on your video is it is required to jumper the 12 volts on the Mavic battery to one of the main + power pins on the battery connector. This allows the Mavic battery circuit board to be powered up and then the Cp2112 mini board can talk to the battery (BMS) Battery Management System board. Now I can talk to the battery but having Unsealed, Cleared PF Flags, manually entering the codes 0024 and 0029, writing to the chip and then re-sealing the battery the battery will not take a charge from the Mavic charger. Solid green lamp stays on on my battery. If you read this let me know any other thoughts that might help me or you can PM me. Calvin

Ignore this, I had to download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC, now it works perfectly, thanks again for the video

There is no seal option in battery killer. Just click reset chip. It should seal by default.

here is the Phantom 4 battery READ after clearing the PF using the CP 2112 and this software.

Can this process work after deflating a bulged battery. Its still charging normal but when inserted in the drone, the drone quickly draines it and reports critical low battery.
Deflated battery is diffrent case. It can be chemicaly broken
Hello I tried it twice, but I have a problem that my battery flashed only when I charged it first time on my Imax B6 and what I remembered on it flashed two middle leds, but at that time I didnt have CP2112 and now when I connect it to original charger it doesnt flash. But when I did everything from your video, everything looked like in your video, only which was different is when in video in time 7:49 program wrote you "Reset chip successful !" in my case this line program didnt write me in both times, when I tried it. And after complete process battery doesnt work, for information I charged battery to the voltage about 12,44V. Please can you help me ?

Any luck I cant get my battery to stay on and I get ERROR: Could not perform SMBus read 0x00
Mine had error sbus reading. Any way to workaround this?
That means either broken chip either you need to turn on battery and read data when battery is on

It works without opening only with newer batteries. Mavic pro and Phantom 4 needs to be open because their I2C bus ports are inside the battery.

Have recovered my Batteries. But it says now in the APP Battery not authentificated.

I have fixed one Battery now. In the program is a authentification Button. Do this and it will work.

Do not panic yet, this is normal on those devices, this happens when the pack is unsealed and the MSP430 detects that. It immediately throws that error. The only way to solve the error is by putting the battery after it was repaired to drone, changing battery_type parameter to 2 or 3, and then you must use Drone-Hacks to flash drone firmware again. The firmware doesn't need to be latest, but it must contain battery firmware.
The point here is to let the drone reflash the MSP430 firmware so it will stop complaining
about the Authentication error.

When I encountered this, it turned out that I had soldered to the contact closest to the edge of the CP 2112, which is not connected to the rest of the board. It's for some sort of jumper or something. Problem solved by de soldering, moving and re soldering the wires to the correct conection points on the board. that being said, a big THANK YOU to QwertYy for making this. I watched several videos, but this was the one that I ended up using. I filmed some of the process and will attempt to make a video for future battery revivers.
I made the connection without opening the battery and connected it together with its charger and was able to restore one, but my other battery recognizes it and reset its parameters with the software but it still does not turn on its LEDs or charge, what could it be? is for mavic 2 pro and the battery model is FB2

To remove that you have to: ( these comes after you made the steps above )
- charge the battery full
- reflash the drone with the latest firmware with the new battery in it
- connect with the CP2112 again and then: connect, read info, unseal, clear and reset the chip.
Had the same issue, but this fixed it.

@ocristus18 Hi, if the steps above don't help, go back to the battery killer app, and do the process again but at the end hit Unseal - Clear PF - Unseal - Clear PF2 ( I am not sure if I clicked on Reset Chips as well, it was for a while ).
I had 2 batteries with which I had to make this, but now it is all good. I hope this will help.
