Great Sounding Canberra PR9 Fast Flypast

- The Vulcan is well known for its howl sound, but the Canberra can sometimes produce a howl from its jet engines on a fast flypast, on a side note NASA still uses a variant of the Canberra jet.
They are so old! I remember being surprised to see a ground display of them when i went to RAF Waddington in 2004 or so. One of the first Airfix models i ever made.
Great sound, the F-18 at a certain speed and rpm, creates the classic howl too.
Nice clips. Back when Abingdon used to get jets and Folkestone airshow which the council won't fund? There needs to be some new private shows organised perhaps. Be good to see the NASA Canberra at Mildenhall sometime.
Shame about Folkstone, because the rock man made harbour was a great spot to film from.
Rolls Royce Avon. Same as the Hunter, similar sound. Lightnings had later Avons with re heat, different sound.
It might be just a problem with sound, but in headphones you can hear the plane a little behind the image(or better say actual plane). Its a poor physics, but I find this kinda cool!
That's how it is in reality. Sound travels fairly slow, so you always hear the sound as coming from behind a moving object. The farther away the object is or the faster it's moving, the greater the difference between the visible and audible positions of the plane.
😎👍

You have no style! ;)
Dear Wonkabar007, could you provide an email address to contact you regarding one of your fantastic videos? I would love to discuss a permission to use one of them in a production and general licensing if this is possible. Greetings!
Is this aircraft still flying?
That's the sound I remember 😊
