Yeah this game is going to flop... I can never trust "Gameplay trailers" when they feel HEAVILY scripted. One day developers will actually show us RAW footage.
It's a big red flag for a game that supposedly comes out this year. If the only sea-based enemy they showed is an asset flip, it seems unlikely sailing is anywhere near the level of delivery
Yea for me the trailer just looks like a bunch of random stuff just thrown together. And the landscapes and scenery they showed didnt look all that traversable to me
Seems unlikely that they made all of this in 2years of development, in the sense that they have all these systems in place, working out, fleshed out and with decent depth to each system
@@TheDigimonXYZ Exactly. That's my assumption as well: a beautiful live-rendered choreography with bought assets. It's possible that some parts of the mentioned systems are implemented, but the demo doesn't show the progress resulting from these systems, only scripted scenes. But there is a risk none of the systems will work good enough to be enjoyable for more than 5 minutes.
Just because the studio was formed in 2021, doesn't mean that it hasn't been in development for years with the same or smaller team as a cooperative side project from people across industry. They may have received backing from various sources in 2020 or 2021 and formalized the studio and such as a result of it. Don't think so narrow =P
There are 2 options: 1) They have come with some sort of weird tech/software to optimize servers-side sync handling, which will end up causing non-emmersive multiplayer experience, that is why they are confident in their optimization 2) Some rich billionare dumped billions of dollars on his dream project and bought massive server rooms and hired really good software engineers and DevOPS
Turkey has very talented software engineer who are very cheap at the moment. Smoking that copium at the moment but with modern tools like UE5 there should be more indie devs succeeding.
Rich people have dumped dollars into MMOs before and they crashed and burned. Also it's real easy to be confident about optimization if less than fifty people are testing it...

Considering it's an unknown studio and the development time is so short, I was very skeptical of it's release date or that it's as optimized as it says. Then it got to the time travel section and I knew it just wasn't possible. I'd love it if it were true but I'm definitely not holding my breath.
This reminds me of some of my favorites, like UO. Taming horses and playing card games at a tavern? Yes please. Despite the red flags, of which there are several, I'm hyped. Game promises so many things. From medieval-looking gameplay to time travel. It sounds outrageous honestly. Definitely sounds like a drag out project that will stay in some sort of early access for decades before shutting down.
if any mmo goes to early access, then its meant to die.. I wish every mmo dev that decides for early access will fail, because early access is called laziness and no passion or idea what the hell they are doing
Quick reference information; Morrowind is 16 sq. Km, Oblivion 41 sq. Km, Fuel game on Xbox 144,000 sq km, Daggerfall 200,000 sq km. So 2,000 is multiple orders of magnitude bigger than most "big" open world games, but not the size of "intentionally gargantuan" games that use size as a mechanic directly (racing, fast travel, etc).
Sounds a bit too good to be true. Even in the trailer, some graphical objects are popping in and out and I imagine it'd get even worse with a full player base. If there are player run taverns, I imagine they'll basically have to instance a lot of things to reduce lag. I really like the idea of this and I hope it works, but it just seems too ambitious. They make it sound like this game will be feature complete upon release. I guess that's one way to avoid having a roadmap and dev updates :)
I'd expect that the "release" date is opening up to the public as Early Access. Bare bones at first with adding the talked about features over the years
Looks great, but I think that the game is too ambitious to release in such a short amount of time. Let´s wait and see. You should also take a look at another promissing MMORPG called Pax Dei. Looks sick!
First i love ur vids 😊and I am on your side, the animations are also just great. It just has a special touch. BUT...all this was not created / built in 2 years. It's almost impossible to build something like this in 2 years. The company only exists for 2 years. I think they got together at some point after the game was already in a relatively good condition and then finally founded a company. I can't imagine anything else. Hope the game comes out and is a hit. We MMO players need something like this ;)
Weird thing is, there is this boom going on in Turkey. They are exporting electricity via ships, simulcasted high quality tv shows and a nice growing movie scene. Guess if it's not all about dollars and cents something like this might be possible. I am skeptical but optimistic.
It honestly looks very ambitious, and hopefully if it does launch they will have a core set of systems and they can add on to that afterwards. Too many MMOs in development have very lofty promises/goals and barely are able to meet them. It is perfectly fine to have grand ambitions but they need to realize they should focus on making the game playable and enjoyable with core systems in place first before adding on systems upon systems, looking at you Pantheon.... Just release the game first, playable, and then add the fancy end game features no one would see until the end, make it about the journey first and then the end.
With my mmo experience, I think I can safely say, it looks like too much to deliver. Too many promises; why not develop and polish the core of a MMO, make it solid and expand slowly?

Reminds me a little bit of The Day Before, in the sense that's a game coming out of nowhere, with "good" first trailer BUT with little information, let's see about it in the near future.
Granted I have been out of the MMO scene for years now but to me MMO promises have as much credibility as politicians... When I see people actually playing it and giving it praise that's when they'll get my attention.
The world size is what has me hyped. Large enough so that it won't be fully explored for a long, long time. The only way an MMO in modern times can retain any real level of magic after being released, a sense of adventure, is mystery and wonder of venturing out with a ragtag group of adventurers to discover its secrets.
So.. lets discuss a bit.. First, OPTIMIZATION: The steam page says that the minimum requirements will be 4 GB Ram, an i3-4160, and a gpu Geforce GT 730 with only 2 gb dedicated memory.. In my opinion this is NOT possible.. i mean the game would launch probably but would u call it playable if the game runs at 5 fps? The reccomended options would be 8 gb ram and a GTC 1060.. there is a no way 8gb ram and a 1060 can handle such graphic with a stable framerate, IMPOSSIBLE.. Now.. about the content... They look more ambitious than Ashes of Creation, with less than half of their experience and time, how on earth are they promising all those stuffs .... releasing this year?? no way, i would say 2025+ (at the best). Animations: Idk you guys but why the character NEVER EVER run once in the entire trailer? Maybe animation is not made yet, idk... Combat feels decent right now, however the mage stunlocking himself for 7 second just to cast 2 abilities scaried me a lot. Monsters seems having 0 brain cells, all they do is running slowly at you, getting staggered continuously, and in the rare case they attack, the attack itself is so slow that even a child could dodge it while watching Dora on TV. There is surely a lot to discuss, even the decision to make this in unity, which is not a thing we can see very often in the MMORPG world. This looks pretty sus, we should call a meeting. Like Peon said, i will just watch it from a far, hopefully it turns out pretty good ! would love to play it. It just seems way too good to be true, expecially in just 2 years of active development
Doomed to fail, sadly. Even MMO's that don't look great have issues holding too many people sometimes. Now include a game that looks very high tier that need a beefy computer. There's ar eason MMO's usually don't looks top of the line.
Good graphics. I just can't help but wonder if the genre jumped the shark already? there just doesn't seem to be anything new out there. I mean we have slayed dragons and other monsters for years. Isn't there anything new? Like maybe outer space? Choose a planet, complete all the missions, choose another planet until you complete all of the planets then you get the end game content. Each expansion puts you in a different galaxy where anything could happen. In space it opens up more ideas for classes and technology instead of just relying on what we have already on Earth. Like a Psionic, or Psyker in Warhammer lingo. You could have impossible biomes on different planets. Unique mobs and bosses to kill. Flying would be in the form of a spaceship, not drakes, or bats, or any random winged animal. Of course you can customize your spaceship to be able to travel quicker and maybe reach areas that are unreachable by traditional means or have dogfights for PvP. No shared spells like fear, dots, nukes. Each class would have its own set of spells and abilities. You wouldn't have to worry about diversity as outer space leaves anything possible.
we can never truly know if the game-play will be good, but what we can say is the graphics are very likely exactly what we're seeing. its modern Unity engine, this and Unreal 5 are just this good now. they're at the level where this is the minimal we can really expect for anyone going for a realistic look since its just inherent to the engine tech now. gameplay-wise I just heard "hardcore old school sandbox". which is fine, but lets not expect the universe here.
I think I cracked the code on this game. They said production time is 2 years and its releasing this year. I think they were talking about 2yrs of development on the trailer. How did Steam approve this?
By far the best mmo reviewer. Unlike other people who are biased as hell and trash everything that isn’t their channel’s main focus. Thank you for your unbiased opinion. I’ve unfollowed about 3-4 “ashes of creation” people by now. Even the nark guy has become soo annoying bashing everything. Good video, keep it up and great commentary.🎉
Notice that while the combat is, yes, yet ANOTHER action combat style, it's in the realm of say Secret of Mana as opposed to Blade and Soul or whatever that ARPG is. The APM appears somewhat close to the RPG arena.
The fast development cycle can also be attributed to the relatively cheap labour of Turkiye at the moment (with its insane inflation for years), hence making it cheap to hire the abundant high skilled labour there. You might also want to consider the lack of stringent labour laws allowing for development team to demand long working hours to push forward with the dev. pipeline. That's just me and my partner's thought about the relatively fast development from the studio. All in all, we're still skeptical about the promises from the game so we're with you there. Cheers! PS, I miss tom yum. :(
only thing i can feel that makes it possible is that it was in prior development before the company was established or they somehow ended up with a half worked on game that already had much of it developed
This looks amazing, but the behind the scenes info doesn't jibe. I'll be keeping an eye on it. If it's half as good as it purports to be it could be fun, but I don't see how this came out of nowhere and is ready to launch this year.
Could you do a video on Mabinogi? Been around the internet for 20 years and didn't know about it until last week when searching for "mmos with good life skill systems"
Could they have been developing the game before the finding of the studio or was it stated that development of the game only began once the studio was setup? Still skeptical myself regardless of either, but the trailer definitely has me paying attention.
When I hear these massive promises I'm always sceptical. Especially coming from a company that popped out of nowhere. They're talking about weather system, naval combat, massive seamless world, underwater content, dungeons, craft systems, natural events like droughts and planting, player housing, player run businesses, husbandry, world bosses, in depth character creation, dungeons ... they didn't even touch on how player skills etc will work or classes or whatever. I wish them all best cos it sounds cool, but I'll believe it when I see it. Or play it rather.
Tha fact that they are using Unity brings me some kind of expectation about the game. Taking as an example Rust, it is a game built in Unit and to these days Rust has a bunch of extremly complex systems working at the same time. Industrial furnace/storage system, water/irrigation system, electrcity system with logic components and so far and so forth.
Is this possible? Yes. They use a lot of assets so the time frame is doable. But they have to focus completely on making the professions and player owned shops work. Will it work? Honestly I doubt it but I'll give it a shot and hope for the best
The best mentality is : When it comes out i will play it and if don't like it i just move on . Almost all games are fun at the beginning so it's a win win for me .
This is a beautiful live-rendered choreography with bought assets. We don't see the systems in action for longer than a few seconds, all this can be and probably is a scripted demo. The whole demo sounds like "this is what we are dreaming of". It's possible that the mentioned systems are developed only superficially and the gameplay won't be enjoyable after 5 minutes. Maybe that's how it will be released. OTOH it's possible that a few systems will be developed properly (eg. combat) and the goals downsized to reality. In that case this could be a good and exciting game. I hope for the latter and wish good luck to the developers.
I'm a Unity dev and I suspect they're using DOTS - which is amazing and a real dirsupting technology. If that's the case I can actually believe what they're saying though my scepticism is still very high
It seems too good to be true. I know Türks are MMO-lovers just like the rest of us here. It's just; We've been burned by so many "promising" indie-projects for the past few years that I won't get into any hype. If they release it and it's good; I'll sing their praises. But I will be cautious until I have it in my hands. Good luck to the devs though.
That combat looks meaty. I'm hopeful that they were sensible and started with putting a character in a blank room and getting the combat right first. Their scope seems utterly improbable though. To do that in 3 years, it would need to be in permanent crunch. Thats just not maintainable.
while i truly wish the dev team to succeed in making this game, i also have many doubts, making and releasing a real mmo in 2 years that has a world to explore, engaging end game content and is well polished is well just unlikely to happen, unless the dev team is somehow actually very large, which would mean a lot of money being pumped into the game, and that leads to if the game is free to play, it means it will have heavy mtx
Don't underestimate Turkish developers and workers, we are used to working for 48+ hours a week tirelessly. The system here is super slavery-like. So I believe this might finish actually. Edit: Its pretty common here that projects start before company has been founded so assuming 2 years development only might give false impression. We have entrepreneurship support programs asking for specific dates to officially start a company so I would imagine they are also like that.
I think whoever made the Steam page forgot to click the drop down and put it as "coming soon". I think by default Steam puts the current year. (I have a free platforming game on Steam, and making the Steam page and uploading the game on Steam is a HUGE hassel and it's easy to miss things hehe. I use the Unity Engine too :D)
Ya that looks and sounds amazing. I hope they pull it off somehow but I doubt it will be soon. A part of me wonders if they are hoping to get an unfinished game thats got like the first half of levels finished and playable but level caps will get raised to the "actual release state" over 3-18 months as they are able to finish. I think this as I wonder if they really hope to get out the door before Ashes cuz if AoC releases and goes as well as we dream it will take a solid chunk of the market/base.
The second I heard ''Turkish'', I started writing this comment. If I know my people this MMO will be a stinker 9 out of 10. Edit: The ideas for this game are pretty interesting, but still I'm not gonna hold my breath.
Who else is tired of Medieval setting MMORPGs? I'd love to see modern day, lovecraftian, steampunk or victorian, cyberpunk or futuristic settings more often in MMORPGs or even settings where we play as mythical creatures or some non humanoid creatures. Howabout a MMORPG where we are the evil dragons, vampires and necromancers? A reverse MMORPG. I'd love to see such settings more often rather than Medieval and Wuxia and Xianxia settings that already make the majority of the MMORPG games. I know some MMORPGs have those settings I mentioned but they're rare to find in comparison to the sea of medieval and wuxia/xianxia MMORPGs.
Netcode is the thing they have to prepare to spend time optimizing but you can't do that without massive beta tests. None of the game play or visuals are impossible, but the concurrent players in a single area is impossible to just buy off the shelf.

If this team had experienced developers working on it then they wouldn’t be making these ridiculous claims. It’s experience that teaches us that this kitchen sink design is not possible with such a small team in a short amount of time.
Experience doesn’t really make you faster, it makes you know it can’t be done faster.
@@roskelld Experience absolutely makes you faster. Have you never interacted with a single tradesman in your life? An electrician, a carpenter? People who have experience in a specialized field often get their work done both precisely and quickly. This is the case for nearly all learned skills, really.
Either way, like I said before, I could definitely be wrong. I'm airing on the side of caution like everyone else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@TheDigimonXYZ The trailer wasn't really that different from others released by different MMOs, especially first-look trailers. Besides, why spend more money on media production when those funds can continue to go into the facet of the project that actually matters- the game?
@@Hollow-x-Heart experience makes you proper, it doesn’t allow you to fully wire up a house in an afternoon. A scammer might be able to wire up a house in an afternoon by cutting corners and doing it incorrectly.
I’m guessing here cause I’m not an electrician, I’m a game developer that has spent over 23 years in the industry and that experience has taught me that you cannot do what these developers are claiming unless you’re willing to cut far too many corners.
Yeah this game is going to flop... I can never trust "Gameplay trailers" when they feel HEAVILY scripted. One day developers will actually show us RAW footage.
Agreed. The kraken also looks super similar to one of the free Unreal Assets but i hope I'm wrong
Didn’t ashes do that?
@@DeggoStudios Who cares?
It's a big red flag for a game that supposedly comes out this year. If the only sea-based enemy they showed is an asset flip, it seems unlikely sailing is anywhere near the level of delivery
Yea for me the trailer just looks like a bunch of random stuff just thrown together. And the landscapes and scenery they showed didnt look all that traversable to me
Seems unlikely that they made all of this in 2years of development, in the sense that they have all these systems in place, working out, fleshed out and with decent depth to each system
using Unity can possibly cut a lot of work out. but yea, 2 years is obviously really short.
They never shown any of those systems. All they did just tell about them. Because there are no systems.
@@TheDigimonXYZ Exactly. That's my assumption as well: a beautiful live-rendered choreography with bought assets. It's possible that some parts of the mentioned systems are implemented, but the demo doesn't show the progress resulting from these systems, only scripted scenes. The whole demo sounds like "this is what we are dreaming of". If they pull off 1-2 of the mentioned systems then it could be a good game already. But there is a risk none of the systems will work good enough to be enjoyable for more than 5 minutes.
Maybe they had a working prototype before 2021 and founded a studio after securing investors
all these new upcoming MMORPG is like becoming black desert online
Used to be WoW clones back in the day.
Now, its BDO clones. 😁
Yea, this game just kinda looks exactly like bdo except bdo has asian artstyle or theme unlike this one which is just basically west medieval.
Quinfall looks like a direct copy of BDO bit with a different environment and setting.
Just because the studio was formed in 2021, doesn't mean that it hasn't been in development for years with the same or smaller team as a cooperative side project from people across industry. They may have received backing from various sources in 2020 or 2021 and formalized the studio and such as a result of it. Don't think so narrow =P
There are 2 options:
1) They have come with some sort of weird tech/software to optimize servers-side sync handling, which will end up causing non-emmersive multiplayer experience, that is why they are confident in their optimization
2) Some rich billionare dumped billions of dollars on his dream project and bought massive server rooms and hired really good software engineers and DevOPS
Turkey has very talented software engineer who are very cheap at the moment. Smoking that copium at the moment but with modern tools like UE5 there should be more indie devs succeeding.
Lets hope for Bilionare with a dream.
Rich people have dumped dollars into MMOs before and they crashed and burned. Also it's real easy to be confident about optimization if less than fifty people are testing it...
It looks like they could have focused on limiting the scope, because it seems ridiculously overly ambitious; particularly with a short development cycle. Lots of red flags, but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks.
Love the minigames such as playing cards with other players. Too many MMO's miss out on this.
That's because people doesn't want to sit down and play cards in a mmorpg.
It's like having shoelaces without shoes to put it on :P
@@Schmorgus A good MMO needs a social aspect to keep it alive and what better than sitting down a pub and playing cards?
@@Schmorgus Lmao you never seen the tavern in goldshire in wow ? I would probably not play cars either, but alot of people would, Also you need different content in an mmo, its rare that someone does 100% of the content.
@jiladoper2 Like the poker games in rdr2. Noone plays it. Same with the Pirates mmo. No-one played the poker game in that. And it's because its a part that only fits a small minority. The rest prefer the devs to focus on better things.
@@xPeanut Not 1 single mmo with cards as a side feature, had people being social with it, when they could be social while playing the rest of the game.
Even though I love MMOs, I think studios promising all this would be so successful as single players or small co-op based games. Making it a MMO just adds so much more difficulty when it comes to making a game.
Looks amazing, BUT worries me there is not one clip of multiplayer. They plan to release the game this years, yet haven’t added networking systems yet? Highly unlikely!
Trust me bro
@@DoingFavors lol
Would love to see another RL blog mate, see how your going, how did your network group go? life in general over there after Covid and how is the training going?
bruv, you been pumpin videos out like crazy. Love it!
Even if 2023 seems unrealistic, here's hoping that when the game does (if) release, it delivers on what the trailer displays. I can wait a couple years for something like this.
but its built in unity
Don't get hyped. It won't happen. This simply won't work as an MMO in Unity. Albion Online is about as ambitious as it gets with Unity.
@@KineticCalvariacan you elaborate on why thats the case?
@@santiagoserial3670 it's too limited. Unity is primarily used for single player 2D games. It really struggles with anything demanding or fully 3D and the games that do have a ton of issues. It's improved over the years but it seems an odd choice.
@@KineticCalvaria *puts tin foil hat* what if unity is sponsoring them to gain some reputation as the ashes is being developed in the unreal? because there are a lot of similarities
All this in 2 years ?? hard to believe tbh
4:32
am I the only one who said “unity” like I just punched Charlie Murphy on the forehead 😂😂😂
No way this has all of the features of Black desert and Ashes combined and was made in 2-3 years.
Some people said it's technically 4 years in development, before it was under different name. Also, Unity provides assets which can speed up the work.
Looks sick!
Completly agree
On a positive note if anyone cries about Ashes having PvP just refer them to The Quinfall. Easy.
Don't underestimate the Turks.
The Day Before Fantasy MMO RPG! Noice! We'll see each other again after the third delay...
When a game looks to good to be true it usually is, especially mmo
Honestly, one of the only youtube channels I don't skip the add, and it's purely because of the music.
We MMO players need something like this ;)
I was about to say the same. Could very well see this as a project students were working on. Then formed the company after graduation.
@@The-Dark-Tower Can you elaborate what you mean?
Seems too good to be true. Once the devs start asking for money for whatever reason they come up with, the truth will come out ^.^
Idk, this looks too good to be true tbh
13:55 to skip Peon reuploading the trailer to drag our runtime.
Cool story! Hope will come out soon.
Weird thing is, there is this boom going on in Turkey. They are exporting electricity via ships, simulcasted high quality tv shows and a nice growing movie scene. Guess if it's not all about dollars and cents something like this might be possible. I am skeptical but optimistic.
Sorry but 2 years for an mmo is not viable, no chance in hell this is going to be an actual success
*puts everything imaginable that made other mmos somewhat hype back in the day into an mmo* yea this is it boys. Definitely coming soon(tm) and will have no bugs*

Thank god Archeage existed, just to inspire more Game development companies
With the advancement of Technology and all the tools that's already made for game development I'm hoping this is legit.
Unless you palett swap an existing project. No it isn't
Reminds me a little bit of The Day Before, in the sense that's a game coming out of nowhere, with "good" first trailer BUT with little information, let's see about it in the near future.
Yeah that's extremely suspicious, at least it looks pretty cool on the trailer lol
Granted I have been out of the MMO scene for years now but to me MMO promises have as much credibility as politicians...
When I see people actually playing it and giving it praise that's when they'll get my attention.
This is actually one of the more hype random ''reveals'' of recent imo.
It's a play to earn crypto game why is it hyped
@@LordCommanderVex Is that true? Do you have a source? Would be super disappointing.
An ad inside an ad, what a marvelous idea.
This narration is AI generated 💀
The world size is what has me hyped. Large enough so that it won't be fully explored for a long, long time. The only way an MMO in modern times can retain any real level of magic after being released, a sense of adventure, is mystery and wonder of venturing out with a ragtag group of adventurers to discover its secrets.
Nice to see Quin69 get his own MMO
Imagine naming your MMO after the clown himself
So.. lets discuss a bit..
First, OPTIMIZATION:
The steam page says that the minimum requirements will be 4 GB Ram, an i3-4160, and a gpu Geforce GT 730 with only 2 gb dedicated memory..
Animations:
Idk you guys but why the character NEVER EVER run once in the entire trailer?
Maybe they are using AI to develop this mmo :D
Based in Turkey, a country which historically has been very lax when it comes to copyright enforcement. Makes you wonder a bit.
Doomed to fail, sadly. Even MMO's that don't look great have issues holding too many people sometimes. Now include a game that looks very high tier that need a beefy computer.
There's ar eason MMO's usually don't looks top of the line.
Yep
I wonder why you didn't just feature that in a shorts video.
Keep up the good work!
Come on let's be real, it's not going to happen, this is a bit funny at this point gotta admit
What?
@@abdelrahmanrad We've all learned from the past, doesn't this scenario feels slightly familiar to you haha
It is seen that it was a previous Project and they had already developed it, although the company put it in 2 years ago.
I feel like I'm watching a David Attenborough documentary
Notice that while the combat is, yes, yet ANOTHER action combat style, it's in the realm of say Secret of Mana as opposed to Blade and Soul or whatever that ARPG is. The APM appears somewhat close to the RPG arena.
I mean, ontop of everything else, the fact that they want to involve time travel AND open sea combat / pvp is insane, but hell I'll follow along
IF they actually do deliver on everything they promise this will end up being my main game I have zero doubts. That's a big IF though XD
It's blisteringly fast development for an MMO but fingers crossed anyway!
They had me at "You can go hunting & fishing"
Tha fact that they are using Unity brings me some kind of expectation about the game. Taking as an example Rust, it is a game built in Unit and to these days Rust has a bunch of extremly complex systems working at the same time. Industrial furnace/storage system, water/irrigation system, electrcity system with logic components and so far and so forth.
Is this possible? Yes. They use a lot of assets so the time frame is doable. But they have to focus completely on making the professions and player owned shops work. Will it work? Honestly I doubt it but I'll give it a shot and hope for the best
The game has been in development for longer than 2 years, but Vawraek was only officially formed in 2021.
If this game is actually as good as it looks, after only two years of development.... I'm in!
The best mentality is : When it comes out i will play it and if don't like it i just move on . Almost all games are fun at the beginning so it's a win win for me .
9:34 i swear to god that room is from the withcer 1. like around the start of the game.
Good luck to the devs though.
this game looks amazing but we dont know until we get into a beta test or something like that
That combat looks meaty. I'm hopeful that they were sensible and started with putting a character in a blank room and getting the combat right first.
Their scope seems utterly improbable though. To do that in 3 years, it would need to be in permanent crunch. Thats just not maintainable.
How do you feel about Everquest 2 in 2023?
Suuuure. I'll just keep playing the same 2 MMO's I've been playing for the past 10 years
and btw on top of all that, the map is 2000 km2
while i truly wish the dev team to succeed in making this game, i also have many doubts, making and releasing a real mmo in 2 years that has a world to explore, engaging end game content and is well polished is well just unlikely to happen, unless the dev team is somehow actually very large, which would mean a lot of money being pumped into the game, and that leads to if the game is free to play, it means it will have heavy mtx
Early Beta launches in 2023 not the actual full release so that means the game has probably 18-24 months before going live.
