Back in the 90's my cousin and I got to meet you in New Orleans. You were so nice and gave us autographs. She passed away on July the 20th. At her service I shared the story of how we got to meet Paula Deen. She and I love you so much. Thank you for all you do.
This would be a great dish for parents to teach their young teenager how to learn the basics of cooking with a nice casserole. Teaches a skill, independence and maybe surprise a hard working Mom and Dad with an already done dinner. What a treat! ( I know some adults who could learn from simple recipes). Great job!
Goodmorning Paula, It's always nice to wake up to a new video from you! I get up early before my family and enjoy the quietness of the morning with a cup of tea and your latest video. This is how I start my day. You makes me smile and the recipe is a bonus! Thank you for brightening up your viewers day!
Ok. Last weekend I watched a PBS special on legendary women of Country Music. Now they need to do one of legendary women chefs/cooks/culinary specialists. The USA has given us Paula, among others. Thank you Paula and family. You give us so much more than just great cooking and baking ideas. 🇨🇦😍👏
She's the great Paula Deen and I love the way she's without makeup and her dogs bark, and she tells them " Y'all hush up!" 😂😂😂.. I want to make everything she makes ❤️

Thank you for all these great recipes, cooked from the heart in your southern kitchen. Like the easy, breezy way you cook in this quarantine series, please don’t stop! My husband loves casseroles and it is cool this week so I’ll be turning on the oven for this one. (You were my Mom’s favorite and she passed away suddenly in 2007 and every time I watch you I think of her and the joy she got from watching you!) Sweet memories, thank you, Paula.
I made a version of this for years. Soooo delicious!! Only difference is, I make a homemade cheese sauce that gets totally mixed in, then I add cheese and bread crumbs on top and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Either way...GOLD!!! Thank you for this wonderful recipe!!
I have my grandmother's handwritten recipe for a dish similar to this. She called it "More," because you always wanted to eat more of it. Loved the video. Thanks, Paula. I so enjoy all the videos.
This is perfect for tonight. So fast and easy. Everyone likes these ingredients. I love these videos. It takes a load of me every day. Half the frustration of preparing dinner every night is deciding what everyone wants. And you nail it every time. Not to mention, you make me day. Love you, Miss Paula ❤
Oh, YUM!!!!!! Thank you so much for spending your days with us, Paula. Cooking is still work - even when it’s a labour of love. Thanks again and love and best dishes to YOU! ❤️
I ADORE me some Ms. Paula! Love her yummy recipes! Love her pots and pans! And love her clothes that I've gotten! Ms Paula you are LOVED!!!! Take care and keep on cooking!
I love Paula doing things her way, her kitchen, and her family!!! I would love to go spend the day with her and just sit and listen to any story she wants to tell me. Her mother, and grandmother cooked the way my mammaw did growing up...chicken and dumplings were my favorite, and her sweet potato pie!! And, homemade ice cream. Watching from Hope, Arkansas, Mrs. Paula Deen!!!
I bought that cookware and the same color. I love the pots and pans. This is the 2nd set I have owned. The first Set I bought in the late 90’s and Just got rid of the set. I ❤️y’all from N.C. I have family in Georgia also.
Hey everyone, I just got through making homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I've not had that in a while, but I was surely craving it. 😊 It reminds me of when my great grandmother made biscuits, and she baked them in a wood stove (I think some of you know what I'm talking about. She had the one where you removed the eyes and put the wood in that way.) She lived to be about 97. By the way, I love to slice up a tomato in my plate of gravy and biscuit. Yum!!
LOL I made homemade biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast this morning myself! I hadn't made it in a decade or more, but I was craving it for some strange reason! I make my biscuits in a cast iron pan in the oven, but they would be delicious made on a wood burning stove! And YES to that sliced tomato!
I had my great grandparents until I was 18, & 22 years old. That was about 40 years ago. My grandma was a wonderful cook. ❤ She only used a wood burning stove, too. On saturdays, tucked away in a soft, pillowy, feather mattress, I'd wake to the beautiful sound of rain hitting on the tin roof. And, that pleasing fragrance of homemade cinnamon rolls, wafting throughout the big house. Oh my. How I miss ALL of her meals, (and them) etc. So bittersweet. Every weekend was just like Thanksgiving. Grandma would start cooking at 6AM, & be finished with a HUGE dinner, that always included at least two pies from scratch. Grandma was a cook at a tourist attraction, a very large cave, in southern Indiana. Some of the best food people would eat, would be grandma's cooking. Best food ever. Such fond, warm memories we are blessed to have. 💖
That's what I was raised up on in the hills of Tenn mountain we were so glad it get it on those cold morning's. And really glad to get those hot buttered biscuits for dinner to..or hot buttered corn bread while we mostly ate at lunch with beans.
I know biscuits and gravy are the main topic. However, unlike my family, my grandma in law served tomatoes with any meal if she had them. I served them as much as I could to my son. Nearly every meal. I often wonder if maters aren't the key to longevity. Maters and spinach. Mmmm put them in refied edit*refried or mashed* beans... Heaven. Ok.. Sorry going on about my fav foods. And gravy is the very best.. No accessories needed.
Oh PS my flesh grandma served rice and tomatoes to my flesh grandpa at every meal.. She made the best rice ever.. Add tomatoes and it was food heaven. Mmmm The good old days
I made this recipe and it turned out to be delicious! I was reading the comments before I made it , and saw that some of you said it turned out bland, so I added a can of Rotel tomatoes, as well as a can of diced. I seasoned to my taste and added three cups of cheese to the top. Yum Yum!!! Thank you Paula for bringing your recipes to UA-cam. I love you and love watching every morning❤️❤️
We don’t cook like this as much anymore. Takes me back to when I was a kid and both of my parents worked. We never had fast food or frozen food. My Mom and Dad were tired at the end of a work day and just wanted something tasty, simple and fast. Love it.
Honest tasting means depression era..sustain ur body but not full of flavor. Simple meal on a budget. Idk if Id call this iconic American food. Maybe for the amish. Lol

I would love to share my chicken pot pie recipe with you all! I will send it to Paula Deen and maybe she will make it LIVE! My family loves it and hope you do too!
There are no less than 3 videos here on UA-cam. I just did a search for Paula Deen Chicken Pot Pie. So unless she makes a new video for it, take your pick!! :)
This looks great for 'rainy day at the cottage'!! I actually like it with less cheese and i think this is comparatively speaking, a good healthy alternative to using any processed foods to make it thicker -- i.e. no canned soup; etc,
We make a version of this. It was my stepmother's recipe. She was from South Carolina. it was always a HUGE hit with the whole family! Even out here in San Diego, I still make it from time to time. Eating a version of this from my mother-in-law right now. Yum, yum! :-)
Paula, I’ve watched your videos since I was probably close to 10 years old. I’m 25 now and still love watching you and your family. I was wondering if you had tried a butter aged steak? It’s a weird concept to me but it looks delicious!
I've got another to share that I got from my sweet mother in law years ago for Pizza Casserole: 1-1/2-2lbs hamburger, browned & drained Green pepper, chopped Black olives, sliced or chopped, optional 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 soup can of water Pizza sauce, 15-1/2 oz can (I used a 14 oz jar plus half of another) 1-1/2-2 cups macaroni, uncooked ( I used 1-1/2 cups) Pepperoni (I used whole pkg. turkey pepperoni) French fried onions (big can) Mozzarella cheese, shredded 2-4 cups Brown hamburger and drain. Put in greased casserole dish or 9 x 13 pan. Mix in rest of ingredients except for French fried onions and mozzarella. Put onions all over top and then cover with the cheese. I have a deep non-stick skillet (oven proof) that I prepare this in from start to finish. Preheat oven to 350*. Bake for 45-60 minutes. (Mine was done after 45 minutes.)
I make this but I use tater tots on the bottom then use a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of milk in my hamburger, I cook my meat with onions and garlic. I then put peas in the meat with slices of velveta cheese and then top with more tots! My family’s favorite!!
Think I would have got the ground beef nice and brown then added onion & peppers the veg juices would lift the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. If you brown in a cast iron or nonstick the more bits you get.
@@dianekelly7339 Yep I agree....A cheese sauce mixed throughout would also hold everything together instead of it falling all over the plate like it does now. Plus it would make it taste even more amazing..YUM!
Oooow, just caught a glimpse of the measuring cup/spoon & stand. I love mine! Bought it at the opening of PF Tennessee location. Proudly occupies counter space in my small kitchen.
Hey there Ms. Paula! I use to make this for my boys when it was just us. I raised my babies myself. I noticed u added the secret ingredient....worstershire sauce...when I was so poor, I had to use “hamburger Helper”, my boys now won’t eat that! They still love my goulash but not the other processed food. They love my food! Me too! I can cook gourmet or a brisket in the back yard! I just love cooking.
Hi Paula. I made this for My 7 year old. He loved it !!! I'm back filming in Savannah, I'm here for 2 more weeks, I saw your Restaurant on the way to Tybee, I will probably stop by next weekend. Thanks again for all your videos.
Gd morning Paula and crew. Your a bright Ray of southern sunshine Paula, your a joy to watch.... Now personally I feel more Worcestershire sauce is needed along with maybe a bit of garlic powder more oregano and fresh parsley, noodles are good and easy but buttery mash with lovely sharp cheddar is another great way to a hearty quick dinner then it would be a cottage pie. Sending you lots of hugs and best wishes with your dishes, your favourite UK friend. 😄

Great idea, and adding in some chopped dill pickle (or dill pickle relish) along with the lettuce would add to the cheeseburger flavor and texture.
I can’t wait to try this tonight !! No kids around, just me and the hubby.
I love everything this woman puts out it's always so yummy I when to make it for my family and friends they just love it thank you Paula you're making this quarantine more bearable sweet woman blessings to you
love the series, paula! this is actually my first time watching you cook. these videos are very comforting to watch :)
Love homemade hamburger helper (I call this in my house). Thank you for your time cooking for us! ❤️
Hello

Hello
How’re you doing today?
True comfort food that’s going to hit my table real soon. And, yes, just like you, Paula, it is honest. I love this recipe. ⚡️💖⚡️
Hello sunshine, how’re you doing?
I know I have asked before a couple of times but can you make a chicken pot pie?
Yes please do a chicken pot pie 🥰 🐓 🥧 🙌💖
Yes!!! Omg ❤❤❤
I would love to share my chicken pot pie recipe with you all! I will send it to Paula Deen and maybe she will make it LIVE! My family loves it and hope you do too!
@@janicegreen7360 thanks Janice! I'm hungry for that dish also - who doesn't like chicken pot pie?
There are no less than 3 videos here on UA-cam. I just did a search for Paula Deen Chicken Pot Pie. So unless she makes a new video for it, take your pick!! :)
I love your salt cannister.. I have a flower pot colored bowl I've used for years to Sprinkle salt with my fingers.. drives my son nuts😆
Hello sunshine, how’re you doing?
This looks great for 'rainy day at the cottage'!! I actually like it with less cheese and i think this is comparatively speaking, a good healthy alternative to using any processed foods to make it thicker -- i.e. no canned soup; etc,
Karen I like to add a 8 oz can of tomato sauce and a package of taco seasoning 😋
@@suejohnson3972 Same here & since our family likes spicey, we add 1 jalapeno.
Hi gang! Paula, i love Cheeseburger casserole, Yummy for my tummy
I've got another to share that I got from my sweet mother in law years ago for Pizza Casserole:
1-1/2-2lbs hamburger, browned & drained
Green pepper, chopped
Black olives, sliced or chopped, optional
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 soup can of water
Pizza sauce, 15-1/2 oz can (I used a 14 oz jar plus half of another)
1-1/2-2 cups macaroni, uncooked ( I used 1-1/2 cups)
Pepperoni (I used whole pkg. turkey pepperoni)
French fried onions (big can)
Mozzarella cheese, shredded 2-4 cups
Brown hamburger and drain.
Hello, how’re you doing
I'm all about a quick meal .
I make this but I use tater tots on the bottom then use a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of milk in my hamburger, I cook my meat with onions and garlic. I then put peas in the meat with slices of velveta cheese and then top with more tots! My family’s favorite!!
This has been one of my 'go to' quarantine meals!! For some reason, I've really been craving lots of childhood comfort foods.
Bless you Paula from Texas!
I absolutely love Paula! My dream is to meet her in person lol!! Definitely on my bucket list!! I love to cook because of her!!
Think I would have got the ground beef nice and brown then added onion & peppers the veg juices would lift the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. If you brown in a cast iron or nonstick the more bits you get.
I would have added minced garlic, and made a cheese sauce using butter and milk and mixing it throughout the casserole, then sprinkle cheese on top.
Diane Kelly Yes it did need more spices garlic powder, parsley ,Worcestershire added to the browned g.b. It looked to bland for my liking.
I agree, Mince not cooked enough!
My momma used to make a similar dish but she always used canned biscuits in hers and it was delicious, thanks for the wonderful reminder!
This sounds like something the kids would love!! They love anything hamburger lol… hamburger pizza, hamburger soup, you name it!
Such an easy recipe, thanks for sharing! A big salad with this would be so good.
Hello
How’re you doing
🙋Me me me. Love easy dinners. And definitely need one tonight. Thanks Paula!!!!
